Game mode will always downgrade your visuals a little bit, but it's to make sure that the latency and performance are working at full optimization when you're gaming... for a better overall experience. I picked up the tendency of putting gaming mode on when I'm playing online multiplayer but when I'm playing single player games I put my own settings to get the most out of the visuals
@@brutalenigma816 Yeah that’s what I’m doing now. Online shooters I switch to game mode. Everything else I keep in my 4K standard. i’ll be buying a new TV these this holidays that is capable of 120hz can’t wait for that.
Always play in game mode and in HGIG if youre tv supports it...That"s how the creator of the game wants you to see the game...that"s why a very good 4k tv is necessary for the ps5 or series x (Best tv's LG CX,C1,C2 or Sony A80J;A90j)
FYI and I wish MS would fix this but when enabled VRR is always on. This puts your tv into game mode which makes ALLM completely redundant. VRR needs to only be active when playing a game. It should be activated by ALLM. Then your tv is in game mode for games and quality video mode for everything else like movie watching.
One thing I've always wondered is if I put my console on 4k display but frame rates set to 120fps with will the console do if both are available? Will it automatically use 4k 60 over 1080p 120fps? So should I set it to 1080p and 120 fps or leave it as 4k 120? Help me
Some games will ask you what you prefer and some just run at the best they can , 120fps 4k leave it at that if available only few tv have 120fps 4k 2.1 hdmi 😎

After the last update I've experienced the same thing, especially after playing taxing game like Metro Exodus, but i heard the fans now on games that i never heard before.
The capture feature needs to be updated. It should allow you to record as long as you want. Limiting 1080 to 1 minute is horrible. Microsoft shouldn't care if I suck up the whole harddrive with clips. Then if you use a usb drive you can't edit the clips. So you loose out either way. Makes it so much more of a pain to try to get some decent gameplay to share.
you can record as long as you want… the 1 min is how much you can record of what already happened. it’s not a hard drive issue that’s just technical capabilities. if you hit start recording you can go as long as you have room for it, kind of like a built in elgato
Yes as @travisrandall10 below states, and this video which is fine but fails to tell you is that if you turn on the auto low latency which speeds up reaction time between your controller and tv, it actually lowers the video quality in order to do this. So for games Like halo infinite, call of duty or any FPS high speed multiplayer game, you may benefit from in game response and auto low latency but if your playing any other type of game and want the best visuals possible, turn the auto low latency off, and set the tv to regular or user mode not game mode.
What’s better for gaming like if I were to run a high demanding game like warzone 2k23 etc. what will be smoother and less laggy instant on or energy saver
This is already supported - or is since the recent update. You have to change some settings both TV and on the Series X. HDMI 2.1 VRR and also AMD Freesync enabled, and allow the relevant refresh rate in settings along with couple other options.
