Picked up a series s in November from AntOnline, then sold it and got my series x directly from Microsoft in January. Was one of the easiest purchases. Much easier than trying to get the PS5, which I finally did last week.
@1:02, I love how they talk about how the console can do ray tracing, native 4k, 120 fps. They advise it like it can do all those things at one time in a game. When in reality it usually does only one or the other at a time. You either get 120 fps, or 4k, or ray tracing. It should be 4k at 60 fps (sometimes), ray tracing at 1080p, and 120 fps at 1080p or 1440p.
Dude what the hell are you talking about. I play 4k 60fps on most games . 1080 120 and even 4k 120 on some games

@@ddcheckchaser2014 I have one and you're either capping, hard or misinformed. It's true with backwards compatible games for original Xbox and 360 you can do 4k60 since it's pretty easy to do with new tech. You're likely to do 1080p60 (high to ultra settings) or 1440p60 (high settings) with the s in it's current state with series s enhanced games. Will it get better optimized to a point of 4k60 consistently? It's likely but right now? 4k60 ain't the norm but I can appreciate that majority of games can reach 60fps since I'm a huge sucker for frame rate
How about fixing the issue for HDMI to run 1440p 120 on gaming monitors.
I can run 1440p at 60 Hdr10
But what's the point for 60fps when I can to go to 1080p to get 120 and hdr10 for a better experience.
You claim 4k 120fps but a regular TV has to much input lag. Gaming Monitors are better but system will not detect properly.

I also have a 4k asus gaming monitor I have bought all manor of cables but it won’t detect it it won’t run and I don’t want to put it a large 4k tv coz the refresh rate will kill me
@Solderben those settings do not work with 1440p 144hrz monitor almost 98% of the monitors that run 1440p and above 120hrz will and are not compatible with the series x no matter what you try.
As soon as you put it in 1440 mode it will drop the refresh rate down to 60fps.
I did my research before buying this and was lead to believe that it will at 1440p 120fps compatible. This is something that can be fixed by via patch by Microsoft.
Overall Lg27gl850 monitor is great and I love it. Only down side is getting it to 120fps at 1440p seems to not be possible.
Also if you're able to achieve 1440p @ 120 refresh rate please put on here step by step instructions so people can get the help they are looking for.
I have tried every possible setting and trick and no go here. As soon as it is in 1440p and switch to 120 refresh it get the incapital will reset to 60fps only
You have to have a high speed 2.1 hdmi cable. I switched out the hdmi that came with the series s and it allowed me to change to 1440 with 120 fps

Any of you guys having issues with your Xbox series x? I can’t seem to get 1440 at 120 it’s either 1440 at 60 or 1080 at 120 . I heard it from a lot of people gaming on monitors

Yes but it doesn't work for every game. I recently played through watchdogs 2 after it got that fps boost and every time I go back to the dashboard it starts the game over. I didn't mind, it's an older game. Im just making the point its not perfect.

Quick resume is definitely under-rated! What's better then loading quickly? Not having to load at all! 😁

Loving my Series S, very underrated imo, a good stopgap before getting a Series X eventually.
I honestly think its the better option of the two. Its cheaper, plays the same games at a lower resolution and FPS etc. currently those are the big differences. Imo not enough there to justify an extra $200 and hunting down a series X.
stick with it. Playing on 4k isn't worth so much money

Hey Andy, can the controller be soley powered by the type c port or do I need batteries? I can't find an answer to this anywhere.
@@psychominded3243 yes you can, I removed my battery and plugged into Series S via USB C cable and works fine as a wired controller.
I finally managed to order my Series X this week, purely by chance. I just checked the stockist’s site at work whilst waiting for a bit of code to run & managed to get one; messaged a colleague who went on literally 30 seconds later and they’d sold out again. Surely there’s a better way for the retailers to restrict them to one console per person/address or something?
Anyway, mine is on its way, and my 13 year old Xbox 360 (yep, 360!) can finally be retired.
My last console was the 360 too, except it stopped working back when I was 13 😂 Now I’m 21 buying my own console for the first time and boy does this feel like a different world. The boot and load times don’t feel real.
@@zakkmarks6040 my 360 had died twice, but thanks to my techie experience I was able to resuscitate it. These days it still works although it’s missing it’s front plate and the disk drive only opens if it’s in the horizontal position but it’s not been booted up since I got the Series X.
I know what you mean about load times though, the days of being able to go and make a drink whilst GTA V loaded are gone, and I don’t get chance to read the load screens on Skyrim either!

I quite like quick resume. And I also like the various upgrades for back gen games. Although I'm extremely disappointed that as far as I can tell there is not one true next gen game out. There's some that are upgraded and use some of the features of next-gen. I own five games myself that are supposed to have a series X version but no release dates. How do you launch a console with no games ?
You probably already know this by now, but the problem with quick resume is that it can cause certain games to glitch up after a while.

@@mash2481 since I paid from the Microsoft store I paid a 30 dollar tax and it said it was coming December 23rd, but as soon as it hit the ups it said November 30th and actually came November 30th
Tip Number 1 should be don't unplug your xbox series x for a long time 'a day' or you will find it resets itself, 15 minutes are ok for swapping rooms etc... If longer than that be careful as I had to do a hard reset to get working properly again... bless the cloud saves to...

Got my Series S a few days ago and Cold War runs so good on it! My favourite console, best thing is the tiny size!
I had my xbox one s and surprisely it runs well on that console but now I just got my series s and it runs good

Xbox one X got 6 TF but a very very weak CPU from 2013 days. And with the series S you get 4 TF and a very good/ high end CPU with DLSS, fast SSD and quick resume just for 299 euro. It runs games on 1080/1440P in 60 fps and indies on 4K/60 fps. For a little machine its a beast. I think its better than the Xbox one X
@@piraat070 I have both one X and Series S, I am blown away by the series S. Quick resume, the faster SSD drive, it's a power beast this machine I'm telling you. Note that I play on a 55" 4k TV and the series s feels smoother every step of the way. It's fast, it does upscale to 4k just like the one s does. In the end I understand just now that I'd rather have a smoother gaming experience at 60/120fps rather than a 4k sub 30 for most of the time with the one X. Anyone that says the One X is a more powerful machine hasn't tried the new gen yet.

1440/120hz not supported well! tons of monitors has this parameter but xbox series x and xbox one x did not! I have LG 4k tv and 2k gaming monitors but all ofthen works only 2k 60hz.

WARNING; xbox series s is weaker than the xbox one x at 4 teraflops compared to xbox one x's 6 teraflops. i only recommend getting it later on when they stop making cross gen games.

The funny part is, if you do own a Ferrari. You only decrease it's value by driving it. Hence why most Ferrari owners (that are allowed to buy new. More on that later) don't drive their cars.
Ferrari seems to reward this behavior and only allow people that tend to not drive their Ferrari's by allowing them to buy new rather than used (In case you didn't know. If you have lets say millions and walk into a Ferrari dealership to buy a new Ferrari. You won't be able to. They will only sell you used. They have to "qualify" the kind of owner you are before they decide on if they want to allow a dealership to sell a new car to you. Yes, it's crazy. But that's how it is. Only hypercar manufacturer out there that will let just anyone with money buy new, is McLaren)

@@rchauvin037 if you're in a first world country it's not that hard, it's difficult but not impossible. Just make a Twitter and follow restock accounts for your specific country, have accounts made with payment saved at major retailer beforehand, and use the retailers apps for the best chance. These tips all used at once will get you one within a week guaranteed unless you can't have stuff shipped to your home for some reason

To get the most we need games are designed for new Gen consoles, not enhanced, streaming on phone or tablet don't work properly it keep freezing, I am setting 3 meters awat from console and router connected to 5G
