As an Ohio State Alumni and someone who has been watching the Buckeyes for more than 3 decades I can say a few things 1. This Game was lost because of coaching, or lack thereof. The Team was not mentally ready for the game. Not relaxed and confident. 2. When there is 5 minutes left in the game and OSU has the ball, 4th and 1 and the momentum is in your favor, you go for it You have a physical team and the QB can carry it for one yard. Playing conservative in the last 5 minutes of the game is not a good idea. 3.The Run game was not successful for OSU today. Michigan has a solid defense and came to play. Only thing that was successful offensively today was running a West coast style offense...High Tempo, no huddle, passing offense. During halftime did they forget how they just tied the game right before the end of the 1st half??? 4. OSU made several mistakes. 2 Interceptions and 2 missed FG. This is just sloppy play. Again comes back to preparation and confidence vs nerves. 5. And I have been saying it last year and also this year. Ryan Day cannot recruit good quarterbacks. Last year was abysmal. Will Howard was an improvement this year, but he is NOT a confident QB like CJ Stroud. He is too emotional. Ohio State has the clout to recruit the very best HS Quarterbacks in the Country. NO EXCUSE! It's starting to look and feel a lot like the John Cooper Era again !!
Didn't see the game but if OSU had a 4th and one in the 4th quarter, depending on field position, of course, and you don't go for it, you deserve to lose. All this would be academic if OSU's kicker was competent as you did point out...

Probably the second best drive of the day. it was a bit too far for a FG and the kicker would have also had to kick into the wind, and missed two FGs earlier in the day. The Offense Had all the momentum but simply missed the 1st down marker by one yard. Quarterback sneak all day long and Harold had plenty of successful experience doing that this year. STUPID Coaching call. If you punt and give Michigan the ball back, theres a good chance you may not get it back in time to score 3 or 6 to either tie the game 13-13 or win the game by 3 pts
OSU seemed to have a problem with the passing game in the second half. Michigan was bringing the heat and the QB was under pressure. Michigan defense carried the day along with a great field goal kicker and punter.

Why is no one talking about Will Howard taking what looked like getting a possible concussion on a hard hit. Then coming back in after a few plays. What happened to the concussion protocol? It was obvious that he wasn't right in the second half
RJ- first, I’ve said this before but I love your honesty and passion. As a Buckeye fan, the players had plenty of intensity, but the failure is due to the coaching staff for not putting the players in a position to succeed. Chip Kelly BLEW IT. Not only calling those stretch plays with zone blocking all day. But he never tried to stretch the field ! Not one long shot ! How do you go a full game without at least trying ? Not to mention our season wasn't all that (Understandable) but when you inch closer to the OSU game knowing how much they hate us and on top of that being on their turf I didn't watch they game, but I did catch the scoring on the internet and when I saw MICHIGAN was tied 10 - 10 thought for sure we end up in overtime and the Bucks would walk away with the WIN. I am so freaking happy that didn't happen and MICHIGAN proved to this fan never underestimate them. Not having a great season after a huge WIN and being the defending champions. Knowing that Wolverines turned it around and stung the Bucks, made my day and my season! It's well worth what we lost this year! Thank you MICHIGAN!

As for excuses, you're talking nonsense again. When you lose a game, you analyze what went wrong and could have been done better. Unfortunately, in this case, one of the big issues that was glaringly obvious was the offensive play-calling. That is what was so disappointing and certainly addressable in-game.

As an Ohio State Alumni and someone who has been watching the Buckeyes for more than 3 decades I can say a few things
1. This Game was lost because of coaching, or lack thereof. The Team was not mentally ready for the game. Not relaxed and confident.
2. When there is 5 minutes left in the game and OSU has the ball, 4th and 1 and the momentum is in your favor, you go for it You have a physical team and the QB can carry it for one yard. Playing conservative in the last 5 minutes of the game is not a good idea.
3.The Run game was not successful for OSU today. Michigan has a solid defense and came to play. Only thing that was successful offensively today was running a West coast style offense...High Tempo, no huddle, passing offense. During halftime did they forget how they just tied the game right before the end of the 1st half???
4. OSU made several mistakes. 2 Interceptions and 2 missed FG. This is just sloppy play. Again comes back to preparation and confidence vs nerves.
5. And I have been saying it last year and also this year. Ryan Day cannot recruit good quarterbacks. Last year was abysmal. Will Howard was an improvement this year, but he is NOT a confident QB like CJ Stroud. He is too emotional. Ohio State has the clout to recruit the very best HS Quarterbacks in the Country. NO EXCUSE!

Probably the second best drive of the day. it was a bit too far for a FG and the kicker would have also had to kick into the wind, and missed two FGs earlier in the day. The Offense Had all the momentum but simply missed the 1st down marker by one yard. Quarterback sneak all day long and Harold had plenty of successful experience doing that this year. STUPID Coaching call. If you punt and give Michigan the ball back, theres a good chance you may not get it back in time to score 3 or 6 to either tie the game 13-13 or win the game by 3 pts
OSU seemed to have a problem with the passing game in the second half. Michigan was bringing the heat and the QB was under pressure. Michigan defense carried the day along with a great field goal kicker and punter.

I'm a Proud MICHIGAN Fan! - Go Blue. I confess that I, along with many other M fans thought for sure OSU was going to hand our asses to us because of the loss of so much major talent and coaching. Not to mention our season wasn't all that (Understandable) but when you inch closer to the OSU game knowing how much they hate us and on top of that being on their turf I didn't watch they game, but I did catch the scoring on the internet and when I saw MICHIGAN was tied 10 - 10 thought for sure we end up in overtime and the Bucks would walk away with the WIN. I am so freaking happy that didn't happen and MICHIGAN proved to this fan never underestimate them. Not having a great season after a huge WIN and being the defending champions. Knowing that Wolverines turned it around and stung the Bucks, made my day and my season! It's well worth what we lost this year! Thank you MICHIGAN!

Michigan deserves their flowers. I even started the sentence properly. The seniors, OSU players and Buckeye fans deserve home-grown leadership that understands the importance of this game and this rivalry. Bjork has a difficult decision to make but it’s time and it better come swiftly. This is the only game that matters. Fans around the country probably don’t believe me, but it’s the truth. Hats off to Michigan. Ugly game, but they obviously wanted it more.

RJ, Buckeyes deserve all you're heaping on them. However, at the same time, you do need to give some praise to Michigan. Kalel Mullings made some impressive runs, Dominic Zvada hit a 54 yard FG and the defense shut down OSU's run game. Those weren't just the Buckeye incompetence. 1,827 days and counting....
