      @@heathenfire I bought mine Feb 2022. It died a week ago. It all started when it couldn't hold a charge for a day. Then last week, I got a black screen. I got a Charge 5 recently and I think it is great. For me the battery lasts longer for a week (I don't have always on, on). The sleep thing is really good. However, there are two issues I have.
    1) Date format. The default in mm dd in digits. So the default screen looked like 4th March instead of 3rd April. I notice in your review you have it where it shows it as mmm dd, where the mmm is the month name in characters.
    2) I want things in metric. I do not want to use imperial units. The daily distance is set to 5km, however on the main screen (and on the main screen on the phone app), it is showing as 8 km. Update it 6km then it is 9 point something km. What it is doing is converting it miles and then displaying it in km. I know that may not make sense but it is really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really annoying.

    Was happy with my Charge 5 for nearly 18 months when the battery decided to go dead in two days vs. the previous six days life on a full charge. Fitbit was happy to offer me a 50% discount if I would buy a new tracker from them. Of course their offer excluded the now Charge 6 which is what I would've purchased. Would buy one of their smart watches if they had local music capability - I won't pay a monthly fee to have music on my smart watch. I guess it is time to take a serious look at the competition.

    Since the google acquisition they have been rolling out massively bugged firmware updates, check the fitbit community forums. I was a diehard fitbit charge 5 user since Jan 22 and it truly did change my life. Unfortunately it has become a brick 6 months outside of warranty and I'm not alone. Device is great when it works but development has gone down hill and the reliability is non-existent. A true shame because I've recommend this to so many people yet am now looking at alternatives.

      Past my 1 year warranty, so I too now have a brick. I was thinking of getting another, but I'm not so sure anymore.

    @vickikgibson9470 Год назад

    S0, I had it for nearly 2 years until the new strap broke at the clip and I lost my watch! DAMN...and other problems. I really HATE the 'pay to get your watch features from Google, and it gets WORSE with Fitbit 6! Most can't even get the watch to work unless you sign up to Google Formate, and they took some of the 5 features off that you did not need to pay for from the format...period! So I only got to use part of my watch features. I LOVE the watch style, but miss the side button, but it was ok. It also stopped turning my watch on when I tilted it to see the time...a pain! Also the heart rate was 'kinda' accurate. Over time, things just wound down. It's EXPENSIVE to have a play watch in any of these chip watches. We are all paying loads of money for these base toys. I would LOVE the watch better if it lasted longer, did not fall apart with watch bands, and did not pay for the features it comes with!! So, I am looking for a watch that I CAN get the features I need and would rather have one upfront payment rather than all this BS on my watch, no matter HOW nice the thing is! It really is a rip-off to pay for a watch you can only use if you pay up to 200 = (Canadian) per year for the 'extras'. That is called customer rip-off in my book!

      So sad to hear so many people having issues with their fitbit charge 5! I must have gotten a good one cause mine still works well without any issues. But I probably dont use it to the same extent that other might. Hope you find a better fitness tracker that doesn't break on you!

      @ardentlytech I got a Galaxy Watch 4 Classic LTE 46mm from amazon for 150 bucks. They have less expensive versions of the 4 series as well with just screensize as the difference. Their sleep tracking is awesome and even better than fitbit's premium stuff. It does everything the fitbit can do and more. Only down side is battery life around 2 days, but for the depth of health tracking, plus smartwatch features it is a fair trade off. Galaxy also has an app store with a ton of apps, as well as apps from the play store that also work on the watch. I tried a few trackers and smartwatches and the Galaxy series 4 and 5 are the best overall. The Amazfit 4 series is also really good, but no ECG monitor currently (which I need).

      @@PureChaos just replied to you other comment but this is great info as well! Question for you about this galaxy watch. Do you use the galaxy watch 4 with an android? I have and iPhone and I suppose if I were to use a galaxy watch I can use it as much as I can use a Fitbit with my iPhone. I just wonder if there’s any limitations with that outside of the obvious compatibility stuff. As I mentioned in my other comment I am currently trying an Apple Watch SE (1st gen) and I’m loving it but battery life is drastically different between my Fitbit and Apple Watch

  • @PureChaos
    @PureChaos Год назад +1

    I got one and returned it. Did not like it. You can get Galaxy Watches and others like the Amazfit GTS or GTR that are better and same price or cheaper. I got an open box Samsung Galaxy 4 Classic LTE for 150 dollars on Amazon. Same price, but the Galaxy is heads above from comfort to functionaloty to accuracy. Soamy more apps, etc. Battery life is not as good as Fitbit, but it is not a bad trade off. With my current settings it lasts 2 days before I need to charge, and it only takes 1.75 to 2 hours for full charge. Also, fitbit had issue of not getting my sleep data, no immediate SPO2 data, and the ECG was fidgety and inaccurate. Actually, a lot of the fitbit tests were like that due to its size and having to touch both metal sides just right to get a test. There are better devices for around the same price or cheaper.

      Thanks for offering those alternatives! I can certainly see your frustrations with fitbits issues you mentioned. Like I said I got mine for $70 used and it’s been good for my use so far. I can totally see how this won’t be the best product for everyone so I’m glad that galaxy 4 is doing that for you. Hopefully people who need more out of their fitness tracker see this and the alternatives you offer!
      Also 2 days of battery life is great for higher end watch like that even though it isn’t the “latest and greatest” model. Much better battery life than the Apple Watch SE (1st gen) I’m currently testing out. Thanks again!

      @@ardentlytech 70 for the fitbit is not bad. I mostly needed something with more accurate ECG and on-demand SPO2 measurements due to my health conditions. Hope the Apple watch works well for you. I know the newer Apple watches are supposed to be really amazing, but they are also very expensive and require iPhone and I am android through and through. lol.
