This was almost the best video I’ve ever seen for comparison of the two watches. I am just buying a Fitbit charge 6 as a replacement for my Fitbit versa and Fitbit versa. The Fitbit versa 2 barely made a year and a half before it quit working. The Fitbit versa I have had for 5 to 6 years, and would not be buying a new watch if I could find my versa. I was looking for a smaller faced watch when my versa died so I’m just doing it earlier. My wrist is only 6 inches in diameter and I had a lot of negative comments concerning the size of the watch on my small wrist.
Great video, thanks! Looks like the HR monitoring is finally where it needs to be. Being able to use with Peloton is huge for me. I also returned the Charge 5 because the battery would drain in under two days, but Charge 6 battery usage is only drawing down about 10% per day.
Great video, perfect quality of picture, voice, pedagogy, thanx! While watching it I paused the video, made adjustments to Fitbit pay, included a card, activated it, went down to the local market for required purchases, the payment went beautifully with my Charge 5 at the terminal, and here I am home again 15 min later - watching the end of your video. Nice! I also were not fully aware of all details of the activity (gym+running) functionality, look forward to trying these out the next few days. So far mainly used it for steps and sleep. Merci from Oslo, Norway
I have had most fitbits until the Charge 4. I went back to my Charge 2, which has an altimeter, is fully customizable (I see exactly the stats I want to see on my screen - Calories, floors, heartrate and date/time). It greets me when I put it on and has fun messages. I have an Apple Watch but really dislike their health app and it's not customizable in any way. When the Charge 2 gives up, I'll have to hope Google brings back what was good with the original Fitbits. If not, then it's the Apple watch.
My charge 2 screen stopped working, tho it did function as I could see everything on the app. I ended up getting the inspire 3 and I am really happy with it.
Very helpful. I found a Fitbit Charge 6 on clearance today My current Fitbit is a Charge 2 LOL but it works. I am challenged to see the screen on the Charge 2 so the zoom feature is perfect. Also my screen has 3 cracks so ... thank you for helping me decide to keep the charge 6. Wishing you many more marvelous adventures!!!
Thank you! You just helped me realize I had no tracking of stairs climbed on my charge 6 (just upgraded from a 4) and I'm so disappointed. But I'll get over it for the use of the find my phone because I'll use that about 20 times a day , lol. Thank you for the great review!
this is SUPER helpful so that I understand the differences to expect. my charge 5 just recently died on me so I asked for the charge 6 for my birthday. this is a nice little video to help me learn more about the charge 6 :)
Thanks for the video and differences. I am happy with my Charge 5 and get all my more important information from the Fitbit App on my Android phone. I really don't need all that extra stuff the Charge 6 provides. I have no problems charging my Fitbit charge 5. I don't use or need the GPS information for what I do and heart rate info is good enough for me. But thank you for the video and take care.
Thank you very much for this, it is an excellent and comprehensive comparison and has definitely helped me making a decision regarding upgrading to Charge 6. In particular the thorough testing and use of additional technology to verify comparisons instead of relying on manufacturer information. Unfortunately, I cannot conveniently use the affiliate link since I am based in the UK.
Wonderful video! You definitely helped me make a choice for the Charge 6 with your in-depth research :) Your video was well structured, educational and entertaining
excellent comparison.. I have a Charge 4 and often get HR double what it actually is with oximeter. I am thinking of Charge 6. but also saw that Charge 6 does not do stairs like my Charge 4 ..... hmmmm . Maybe Apple time?
If you call the tech support line they will have you do a bunch of stuff to try to resync (it won’t work) but after they go through the process they will offer to send you a new one.
The charge 6 will allow you to control Spotify if you enable notifications for the app through your phone. You need to activate the app on the phone but it does open up the control of the app directly to the charge 6. It's not an app directly installed to the charge 6 but it is an option to control Spotify and if you are using earbuds it's a very nice ability to discard your phone and use your Fitbit as a controller. However it does require the phone to be close by but the charge 6 RUclips app is the same in regards to close by requirements to operate. Not much different if you understand how to load up the Spotify que to the charge 6 via notification controller and in regards to the controller feature for indirect access through the notifications you can actually connect and control alot of apps that nobody has been talking about in reviewing. It's just as good as any of the apps on the charge 6 just activate via notification app on the charge 6 and it does require a little bit of getting used to navigating and avoiding dismissing the controlling notification otherwise it will deny the control feature.
super thorough review, i really appreciate the time you took to make this video. would you recommend this device for the smart awake feature? that's mainly my biggest want
Thank you for the kind words and for letting me know you appreciate my efforts 😊 I have personally found the smart wake feature to work to my satisfaction. I can’t guarantee it will for you, of course, but I can recommend it’s worth trying. As always, I would recommend buying from a store with a good return policy, just in case.
My dealbreaker is not being able to swim. I guess charge 6. I really want another 3 or 4 but the 4 doesn’t have many customizable scrunchie wristbands!
I currently have an inspire 2 and the biggest thing that annoys me with it is that i can't see the watch face in the sunlight!, guessing thats not an issue at all with the charge 5 or 6?. Thanks and great review (new sub!)
Glad you liked my comparison and thanks for subscribing! Yes, the Charge 5 and 6 have the same screen and are both satisfactory to see in most outdoor bright sun conditions.
I’ve had charge 2 loved it. When the battery life gave up I got the charge 3. The cheap plastic tab that connects the straps broke. Got a replacement and gave it to my neighbour. Got an Apple Watch for a about a year. Switched to inspire 3 due to wanting sleep info. Have now given that up as the inspire 3 is terrible at recoding Heart rate. I’m going back to Apple Watch. Hopefully they will improve the battery life
Thanks for such an informative video. Same case here. The Charge 5 get all the features that fits my daily use. The upgrade features…ummm it’s not worth it😂. Save my pocket while looking forwards the Charge 7 LOL.
Great video. Having to make a Google account is a huge turn off to me. Not a fan. May look at your sense videos. Is the sense 2 a good upgrade over the charge 5 or should I wait for the next smartwatch to release?
The language of your Fitbit will match the language of your Fitbit App. To change the language, you need to turn off automatically detecting the country and then choose the country. Official Fitbit help article: help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1536.htm#
So if i just want a tracker for my general health, not doing instense work outs and don't need the extra stuff like pay and music, i should go for the charge 5?
Wow. Great video. Very in debth. What the people need thank you. It’s embarrassing how lacking fit bit tech is. They should be able to have a way more functional interface. And compadble with any iPhone and iPhone apps and music
Thank you so much for the information. My one critique, maybe there is a way for the mic to not pic up the stuffiness of your nose when you speak. I can hear it very clearly 😬. Otherwise, great video. Ty 👍
Great video, very helpful and clear. I always learn something useful about my Charge 6 from your videos, thank you! I wish the step accuracy was a bit better, it seems to overestimate the steps I take during the day. Have you tested that on your device?
You’re welcome 😊 I don’t test step count accuracy or pay too much attention to my step count (because not all of my activity is step-based and I focus on other metrics for my personal health and fitness habits/goals).
I found your vid to be immensely informative...unfortunately will not order from your link as this is a choice of a gift from my insurance co...Premium included! Guess they want me to stay healthy! 😎
I always like the video first and then start watching it. Thats the amount of trust I have on this reviewer 💯 ❤
Thank you so much for this comment. You have no idea how much it means to me. I truly appreciate your support 🙏 😊
Me too! Short and to-the-point videos with a pleasant voice. That's what I like most.
You nailed it. Loved the graph accuracy you shared. Thank you
Finally a video which explains the graph clearly and did not just run through it. Great Video!!!!
Thank you for the positive feedback 😊
Thanks for the breakdown. A firmware update has expanded the charge 5 to have the full exercise list now as well.

You’re welcome 😊
Happen to my Charge 5 as well, died after exposed to water…
Mine just died after being in the water
Wow there not water resistant?... smh
Same here

Thanks as usual best review professional representation for the heart rate section well done 👌
Really a great video all around. Very informative. Spot on.
Too bad about the GPS & elevation.
I still have the charge 3. May just stick with it.
So thorough! Thank you for all your effort!
Great breakdown and review thank you!👍

Great video. The dealbreaker of no altimeter is spot-on for hikers. Do you have a preference for a band that has an altimeter?
Glad my video helped you 😊Unfortunately, I don’t have a band recommendation for hiking as I personally wear watches for hiking.
Rocking review, thank you so much!

Hi! I'm thinking of getting the inspire 3 since it's a bit cheaper, but it's a few years old. Do you recommend I get that or buy the charge 6?
The Charge 6 has much better heart rate accuracy and I personally think the bigger screen is worth it over the Inspire 3.
