      Whatever you do Audi (Lamborghini) always will be Secondary in VW group behind Porsche, Taycan will be better than e-tron no matter what, it's just as in new 911 even base model has a rear wheel steering as option but new top end baddest Audi the R8 V10 Performance does not have it at all - Shitty VW!

    Since I was a child I have always loved Lamborghini cars my pin up car was the Countach when first came out my jaw dropped 😮 . I like Ferrari cars some are beautiful to look at and you can pull away from still in 3rd gear that’s a lot of torque but put a Lamborghini next to a Ferrari I’ll take the Lambo every time even if it’s the worse car! Shut my mouth. As soon as I saw the R8 I fell in love with it I’d take it over a Lamborghini every time. I don’t know what it is but the Audi just says take me. I love the new one just as much.

      I totally agree with you. I feel the same now specially with this new 2019 R8.
      I would spec it either with the yellow or black color and carbon fiber. Then I would buy the VRS GT wing for the rear and buy some nice aftermarket black wheels (these new wheels are cool but I've always thought having your own different wheels is better, more of your own signature). Then it would be my perfect looking R8. I would take it to my nearest track and play...🤗.

    Finally got to watch the video. Do like the new, more aggressive design approach sans the fake intakes just below the hood line. The quality and look of the interior is superb and I can’t say enough (good way) about the V10 sounds that are now endangered in the automotive world. Regarding seating position comments, does it have a “high in the saddle” feel or is it just good visibility?

    At 18:53 did the 'product manager for the R8' mention the word RSQ3 Performance?!!! On the Audi UK website and configurator you can't yet specify even a cooking bog standard New Q3, or find out its price, let alone an RSQ3. Is all this to do with the corporate CO2 allowance and the EU6d TEMP/WLTP/2019 RDE emission regs chaos that is affecting German manufacturers and seriously delaying delivery of new cars?

      Autogefuhl - I've read that some models - Kodiaq, XC60, Golf, Tiguan - petrol & diesel - have big delays in supply in the UK - due to maker's average CO2 rules are costing companies big fines. What's happening?

    • @johncollymore1697
      @johncollymore1697 5 лет назад +1

      Hi Thomas, yes, knew that, saw your Q3 video (very good!), but that was 3 months ago. You still can't order a Q3 (in UK? WLTP chaos?); it sounded like it may have been a slip of the tongue by that nice guy, referring to a very future 'Performance' or 'Audi Sport' model! Just saying! (He looked like a very clever chap, that 'product manager', wish we'd heard more from him!).

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  5 лет назад +3

      they underestimated the stricter rules and also the EU made the transition period shorter this time. So they have less time to implement the new emission standards. But its not that they cannot upgrade the engines, the homologation process takes so long as there are not enough test facilities available to homologate those cars (homologation = official registration process at the governments to have your values for your car fixed and be able to sell it)

    Can't really call this a new car when it's just a light refresh. Calling it a facelift is a stretch. It's more of a modernization of a old look.
    Since 2006 nothing much has changed, at least add another gimmick like suicide doors or some door gimmic.
    The ford GT refresh was a real remake. Literally remade everything.
    Audi needs to step up it's game or it's gonna fall behind the newer BMW M series
    At 140k starting and 200k top of the line,
    At 140, you can get a Corvette 3ZR 755HP top trim.
    Or just get a GTR and be done with.

    Hey Autogefühl, your reviews are excellent but I have one criticism. Please don't do so many reviews with cars with the highest trim level and/or the highest motorization like this one. Or to put it positively, please do more reviews for the normal car buyer. I mean how many viewers are gonna buy the 300 hp Cupra Ateca and how many the normal Ateca 1.4 TSI? The answer is pretty obvious, right? The Seat Ateca is just an example, I noticed that I'm looking for a "normal" car and I only find the most expansive and powerful version of a car in your reviews. For example the Mercedes AMG you reviewed two months ago has got 76.000 views but the Mazda3 review you did 5 days ago has got 170.000 views. This should tell you something about viewers preferences.
    Just my fifty cents.

      Nah didnt really like the first one. It just looked so boring and had nothing really that set it apart from the rest of the audi lineup. Could have used some more aggresivenes too. The new one one the other hand looks so damn good, i dont care about fake vents and i like the fact that you can see the exhaust system through that back mesh. This is the look that this kind of performance deserves. And they did that thing with those 3 vents because they want people to remember the legendary audi sport quattro s1 that also had these on the hood

    I love this car, but I don't really like what they did to the front end. And I can't believe the entire grill is fake. That's a big wtf right there. It no longer has that clean elegant look it had before and just doesn't look compatible with the rest of the car. I think the grill and the openings are too big and it looks awkward to me. They could've made it look more aggressive without compromising the clean and elegant look of everything else.

    Kitsch. But let me explain... As an R8 lover (not fanboy), I can say the overall shape of gen.2 Audi R8 is brilliant but the few bits and bobs (not many but quite important visualy ones) that were wrong in the first place, were touched now in an even worse way making it quite an AliExpress-ish aftemarket mixture of plastic parts.

    The original R8 looked like a really bad chop-chop were someone welded (/glued..?) a TT front with a Lambo end. Just look at it in profile. Wheelbase is totaly off. The "blade" lines up perfectly with the wonky rear edge of the roof that has a 1" vertical gap down to the engine lid glass. It honestly looks like shit. And the front end was so boring that you thought it was designed by the same guy that drew the Golf V. No lines - no nothing - except that tastless slab of carbon fiber in the middle of that un-balance, front heavy, stretched side profile.
    The new ones actually have design lines that flow togheter. They HAVE design lines to begin with. And they don't look like something that horrible Indian car designer welded togehter in a shed on Discovery Channel a decade back.

      @skagerstrom 5 лет назад

      Though. The blade STILL makes it look like they ghettoed two cars together and covered up the shoddy welds with a plack piece of plastic. But at least it's a stylish chop chop :P

    It used to be such a beautiful car... now they have ruined the design. Especially the fake vents below the bonnet and around the headlights are a real turn-off. These are really KO elements that disqualify the whole car for me at least.

    Good job Audi on f****** up your R8 brand.
    You really messed up the new R8 design with this bad facelift.
    Luckily the past generation of the R8 can be still be had on the used car market for a small fortune.
    Unfortunately you have now presumably made its performance second to the new bad facelift model - thereby devaluating both models.

      Wrong. It's a great step on from the current model. Looks much sharper, will be ordering mine later this year to replace my 2016 R8 V10 :-)

    So many fake vents. If it's not functional, don't put anything there. "Desing elements", yeah right.

      The design of the facia overall isn't working for me. It really doesn't look compatible with the clean smooth lines of the R8 so it clashes. Grill and openings are too big and awkward looking. They could've made it look more aggressive without compromising it's tasteful elegance.

      cl you do realize corvettes are made with the same carbon fiber and plaxi
      Glass that all fast light sports cars are mad of. Go to a body shop and ask what’s the difference between the body parts lol. You euro car lovers take delusional facts out your ass instead of what’s real just like people
      Who say corvettes only go in a straight line while they were made for the track and out handle most of Euros best.

    For gods sake, why the fuk Audi still hasn’t changed the stupid plastic paddles on r8, give r8 those big carbon fiber paddles yo!! It really ruins the whole car’s class for a big margin. Jus don understand the reason why Audi is being so cheap on their flagship’s paddles...
