This R8 plus is just an absolute beaut of a car and that colour is gorgeous! I have to agree with the reviewer, I don't much like the seats but surely if you have the money you can get a whole heap of optional alterations extras, colour schemes and changes. Also the interior in the non plus I think looks better as it has a center dvd and CD player; which i think I prefer. Great review! Thanks

I have a 2012 V10 R8 and I must say this car is a massive improvement, exterior and especially interior.

I think the new R8 doesn't look as timeless as the old one. But I (subjectively) figured out how it could potentially look better..
If the facelifted the front a bit so it looked like there is more protrusion and texture, the R8 will look more exciting. For now, it's just too flat.

+lupinearsenalALT I wasn't blown away with new one as I was with the old one, but this one has way better interrior and the back... It's just the front grill that makes me cringe
But I think the ass end looks a lot cleaner
+lupinearsenalALT I was thinking the same but actually I wanted them to make the grille fully vertical / flat lol.
They should have chromed it up too, like the A9 prologue they always have. Its really frustrating in fact, some of the cars they have locked aay in the concept labs are the Best and most timeless looking vehicles ever imo.
Have you seen their concept Quattro? My God, just lol, too good - when is it hitting the road Audi, ahemm??!

***** I m a very big audi fan and i loved the R8 since 2007. But this thing is so crazy. It s a fcking beast. Its looking so damn nice and awesome the v10 sound is incredible and the interiuer is very nice too. I only can say that i love this car more than the old R8. Also good review thomas liked it too. Sry for my very bad english. So in my opinion audi made another unbeliveble supersportcar :D

Best review of this car I've seen yet. You've got a new subscriber! I agree with you about the rear end - that fixed wing just looks a little too "slapped on". I just upgraded to a 2015 S4 right now so I'm a ways off but the R8 is pretty much my dream ideal sports car since it rains like crazy here in Vancouver and the AWD is just amazing for wet roads. Hopefully in a few years I can pick one up! Keep up the good reviews :).

Clinton Li haha yeah, this summer has been amazing for riding! Half plants in the city are dead but screw it, I've had fun. Sadly it's 'just' an 899 but I'm going to upgrade it to the 1299S next spring (waiting until then so I can sell my old GSX-R for the most - don't get much for them in the fall). I took one for a test ride and the extra power plus that up/down quick shifter instantly sold me!
The only thing I dislike about this version is that the carbon side blade is two pieces instead of the more eye-catching single blade. Overall, a dream car for sure.
Really enjoy your reviews Thomas....sehr gut!! I would opt for the base engined coupe. I would get ara blue with black diamond stitched all leather w/ blue stitching, carbon bits in and out, 20" silver wheels and B&O stereo. I would NOT get the upgraded brakes or the dynamic steering.

I just can't get excited about the design, both exterior and interior. Just too angular. The best R8 is the 2012 R8 GT. I'm sure this new one drives really well though!

I didn't like the new design when it was unveiled but later on I kinda grew with it.
You are a lucky man my friend. It would be a very difficult decision choosing this over the Huracan. But either way you can't go wrong. Great review as always

I really like the interior. The graphics, dials and wheel look fantastic. I wish the vents were round like a McLaren/Mercedes but other than that I can't fault it.
Exterior is more understated and draws less attention than a McLaren too, if you like that kind of thing.
By the way, the presentation of this vid is much improved compared with your early vids.

Hi Thomas, you have a very good point at the end of the video with regards to a fleet of TT's versus one R8. I have to agree with that reasoning, one could easily get two TT RS's, maybe even one Coupe and one Roadster and have them tuned by ABT and still have money left over for a more practical daily car such as a RS3 or Q5 or one of the Avant models :) Brilliant review as always! I can see your whole camera work and production changed. I dont know if its special or will be the same for every video from now on. Its very good that you try to evolve into something more big budget-like, but keep in mind that sometimes less is more. For example from 15:00 the additional camera movements on you are too much. Overall its a great review but remember that your fans like you because of the very detailed, calm reviews.

Beautiful car. Excellent characteristic. I would rather buy a Plus version though, because of the 600+ hp. That is just mental! And that sound!!! Just insane! I love that! But leather seats are really a downer! I completely agree! Alcantara, at least for a seating position, is a must in any car in my opinion yet alone in a sports car. Leather seats without heating and cooling are just stupid! Great review! Cheers!

The new R8 is a very impressive machine but I find the design less elegant both inside and out. The interior of the old R8 was one of my favorite modern interiors. How did you enjoy southern Portugal?

***** Funny, I have a German brother-in-law and he always mentions Cascais and Estoril as his favorite place in Portugal, and maybe in Europe. Next time you are there, if you haven't already, I suggest you take a detour around nearby Sintra. It is quite amazing!
I like how the unreleased V12 R8 TDI looks better. I see they've incorporated some of the design here, but i'm not really digging the hexagonal grille.

Why would anyone one disconnect the air intake color from the back corner of the window? That was my favorite style part of the r8, felt it gave it a very sleek unique look compared to any other super car.
Thomas, I must agree with you, I would take 4 TTs. For my taste, I think the TT is sporty enough and a lot less expensive. While I do enjoy the interior of the r8, I like the TT's better because of digital dials being inside of the air vents. Audi has really done an excellent job with their interior and I am really liking direction they're going with the virtual cockpit.

I'm not qualified in automotive interior design. But who ever let this design go-ahead is crazy it doesn't flow at all! Everything fits but why don't the air vents flow with the dashboard. I don't understand how they could let this happen when the new tt and q7 have amazing interiors.

I don't like the back as much, it looks like an RS5 tail plastered on the back. I also kinda miss the side blade panel of the old one... But I still wouldn't kick it out of my driveway :)
