Join me and the 2019 Audi R8 Performance to well over 200mph. I decided to take this new R8 to Germany and explore what it's really capable of, little did I know it would almost reach 212mph on the autobahn!

I recently hit 160mph in my V10 R8. The car was bouncing around due to the poor roads, that was about as fast as I felt comfortable going. Props on 212mph!

Very well done, Joe! Kudos to you for doing it the right way--the proper road, at the proper time, with minimal traffic, doing a scouting run before, and checking the condition of the car and tires in preparation. Very few people will have an opportunity to do what you did here, but for those who will, you showed them the way to do it!

Wow, what a fantastic video. Your video of the R8 Spyder in the Alps is probably my favorite car video so far, but this is right up there with it and on a Carfection level of quality and storytelling. Why there isn’t an additional zero on your subscriber count is beyond me. Keep bringing us videoes like this Joe 👍🏻 Could you please also let us know what stretch of Autobahn this was on?

Joe that was a class act for anyone to follow, great decision to take the opportunity that you did. The video was fantastic....well done Patrick as well.... it needs two of you.... I totally respected your view towards safety, the autobahn speeds won't last for long, the crazy EU will soon take that away from us, so at least you have nailed your "bucket list experience" in my all time favourite car, you can keep your Lambo and Ferrari's as far as I am concerned. The R8 is so well made next to the others..... it's not an owner saying look at me...This video will really help Audi R8 sales, no doubt about it. The R8 is very underrated.... and you just proved what it can do. Yes turbo cars have more torque, but the smoothness, and polish and precision that that daily driver R8 just did that run, I fully expect it would do it all day..like the reliability of the VAG Porsche 911 GT3 RS around tracks. My view is if you can't afford a VAG Veyron then the next best car to buy is a VAG R8. If you want the BEST car in the world, just buy a VAG... if you want the most comfortable and luxurious car just buy a VAG Bentley.... :-) VAG never stop turning them out and if you must have the Bling factor, ok buy the VAG Lambo all these cars share multiple parts.... that's MY 2019 car video for the year Award...all sewn up!!! now I must come and buy one of your t shirts....between you and Nick Murray your the best.... :-)

Love Audis ...this one is superb, from what I've seen in reviews (never driven one). Very nice review of course! Also: I'd be scared to drive this speed. Period. Never mind with the steering/driver position on the RIGHT side, as done in UK.
Audi speedos are pretty accurate these days - less than 5% out, so even taking 5% as worst case scenario, that would be around a genuine, GPS recorded 202-203mph, so be proud mate - you are a genuine member of the 'DoubleTon Club'! If you ever do it again though, there are loads of quality apps for your phone which will record an accurate GPS speed, or even one of the old Sat Navs to stick on your screen which show GPS speed: have a camera focussed on it, and away you go! Last time I was on the Autobahn was last July in a rental Ford Focus Estate - it was maxed out screaming at about 210kph, literally nothing more!! Funny enough, when I went to fill the car up after a few days, I reached for the black pump thinking it was a diesel...... couldn't believe when I looked at the filler cap to see it was a petrol!! Horrible bl00dy thing!! Haha!
Cheers man, yeah we did get a GoPro GPS at 336kph (209mph) which backs up what you're saying re accurate speedo. Love that you squeezed 210 from a rental Focus, gotta love a rental car ;-)

Its too agressive for me. The R8 has always been a great mixture between clean/elegant and aggressive. This one tips too far into the aggressive side.
gts yep, I think the pre facelift was ideal - the original 2007 shape is still outstanding

I love the r8, it's always been my dream car but I just cant fall for the new shape. The fake vents are just lary and tacky looking. V10 plus is still the best IMO. Great vid Joe 💪

I know I say it in most of my comments on Joe's channel, but every time it gets me. It is getting better and better.
That's a channel that should be a 500k subscribers on its rapid way to 1M. Definitely, one of the best, if not the best, car channel I know of.
I can only ask for more frequent videos and if I were demanding I'd ask for some classic BMW on the channel and not only the latest, somehow unaffordable, BMW models...
