I did just buy this exact same car in that brilliant blue colour and chose it over the Porsche 911 GTS. I absolutely love it, especially the sound, looks and the interior is amazing🙂

Enjoyed this much more than the clever-clogs Clarkson-style reviews (he's a better car writer than talker though). Although I've never driven a car like this, I'm suddenly in the market for one! You can actually see the guy with the bicycle trying to keep up with you on the sidewalk and later just watcing the car, really entertaining :) Good review as always. If you ride motorcycles too, you could review them in depth aswell. That would give your channel a stronger brand and some more popularity. It's though these days to get subscribers and views on the car review segment.

I'd only test light bikes though as I grew up with motocross und supermoto bikes and never fancied this really heavy 1000 ccm stuff where you stop at the traffic light and have to be afraid the bike turns sideways and you can only lift it up again with 5 sumo ringers ;-)
+Autogefühl Oh you have strong arms as we know from the Passat GTE trunk close test :) But of course doing some Motogefühl has to be fun for yourself in the first place and the main segment of Bikers are unfortunately open street/traffic bikers. So whatever you do, do the things you enjoy and so far there's nothing wrong with Autogefuel.

If this will become a collection car I will buy a used one. the problem is that you have to drive it several times a year just to run the amg engine and keep very low mileage over the years which is almost impossible. Having this beauty is very hard not to drive every day in the summer

What a gorgeous car. I agree with you about this being a future classic. Having said this, this car is stuck between the 911 fanatics who will only buy a 911 and the F type which is substantially less (yet just as beautiful in my opinion.) I think the F type v8 can be had for 10s of thousands less. Great review Thomas, I love seeing parts of Germany too!

About this AMG GT, I see it at Geneva at Salon de l'Automobile and it was a good surprise. The interior is very sporty, massive and in a classic style. The front is a perfect Mercedes design, but i think te rear is missed (like most of the Mercedes cars). I was disapointed too, when I see the plastic front logo. I know it is for the sensors, but it looks very cheap for such an expensive and stylish cars. Salutations depuis la France!
An acquaintance of mine was one of the first to nab a 2016 GT S. Didn't let me drive it, but I did get to sit in the driver's seat, and... wow. The interior is amazing. The sound is incredible and the brake rotors look immense. He also owns a Ferrari 430, and he told me that on acceleration the GT S is amazing; but the Ferrari pulls away at high (track) speeds and is much more planted as the speeds get crazy.
Great review, love Thomas' reviews, they're always so in depth and there is something soothing and relaxing about his voice! Also a great car, this would be my choice, if I were buying a car around £100k. Which I'm not.

After first viewing your reviews my impression was of a cultured European gentleman. This review made me feel as though that gentleman was one of my best friends driving me around in his new car telling me all about it. A very enjoyable review from start to finish. The rear end of the AMG-GT reminds me very much of the Porsche 928. Finally, shame on Mercedes for sticking a cheap plastic, non functioning vent on the side of that car. When they forget that form follows function they are one step closer to producing the same cheap junk that Detroit is famous for.

A personal question: would you buy this car also considering to use it as a daily commuter (of course not the most comfortable but still so nice that I would like to). I have to admit I'm not actually a fan of that particular style of car, but this car looks beautiful. I really wish Mercedes would do something with that nav screen though. As much as I love the look of Mercedes interiors in general, that screen looks out of place, especially with that massive bezel.
Profile shaped like a Dodge Viper.... bubbly/rounded top and car overall. I liked the older AMG SLS the best. Sad they discontinued it, those gullwing doors were iconic.

+Autogefühl Yeah, we don't pay any extra taxes on full electric cars like Tesla. Same price as an american would have to pay, sadly though it ends 1st January 2016. And after that full electrics will be just as expensive as benzin, diesel and hybrid vehicles. Car price from dealer + 180% in taxes. Buy 1 car, pay for 2,8 car. Makes sense right? :D

Strange, this Mercedes GT looks like a cross between the Toyota GT and the Jaguar F-Type. I'd have it because it's a Mercedes. I lived in Obernoiching near Munich 20 yrs ago and this test area is a mirror-image of the country side there.
well done man! but dark blue + black is very good combo! silver and chrome wheel look amazing on black car! :) also its funny because previous gen c class has mechanism for navi ...for the new one Benz say its too expe and they put the screen like cheep tablet on the dash ...and say ''its more classy'' ... this days car brands make some dirty tricks :)
Well. AMG GT is amazing machine from outside, I like interior also except this "V" from middle console. In my humble opinion its destroys whole interior. New R8 has WAY much better interior. By the way thanks for great review, like always ;)
Another great review... I saw the GT S at the Dallas car show absolutely stunning in the flesh... But with 911's moving to Turbo's this may put the Merc's and Jag's at a disadvantage in the psyche of the target customers as being outdated and less efficient. Also in the performance category we are starting to see the emergence of hybrid and EV technology which again just makes the V8 look slightly outdated. I drive a V8 and absolutely love the burble the rumble all that good stuff but I know in terms of efficiency and even performance I'll be moving to a turbo 6 with my next purchase. Still a beautiful car though...
Car manufacturers need to do something about the tight spaces on the floor next to the seats. I own a new Audi A3 tfsi Sportback with sports Alcantara seats. It is a bitch keeping dirt from failing down the sides of the seats..

I have to admit I'm not actually a fan of that particular style of car, but this car looks beautiful. I really wish Mercedes would do something with that nav screen though. As much as I love the look of Mercedes interiors in general, that screen looks out of place, especially with that massive bezel.

Beautiful car. That sound (along with the C63) is so intoxicating. I definitely have to give them that over Porsche.
This is my dream car but in a deep graphite color and metallic window tint
Profile shaped like a Dodge Viper.... bubbly/rounded top and car overall. I liked the older AMG SLS the best. Sad they discontinued it, those gullwing doors were iconic.
Really like your review. Like yourself I like GT especially GTC but like SL. I had R231 SL500 AMG now R129 SL320. Very cheap, not or rev car but I love it for its inherent charisma. Greetings from Northern Ireland.

+Autogefühl Yeah, we don't pay any extra taxes on full electric cars like Tesla. Same price as an american would have to pay, sadly though it ends 1st January 2016. And after that full electrics will be just as expensive as benzin, diesel and hybrid vehicles.
Car price from dealer + 180% in taxes. Buy 1 car, pay for 2,8 car. Makes sense right? :D

I so love this car, and its blue collor, I saw this car In Opatija, Kroatia in 2016, and I was sold! I searched for it on you tube back in 2016, saw this realy nice vid of yours! and I still watch it in 2023, thanks to crypto, I can start looking for the same car today😁 around EU 90,000 /100,000, realy decent models here in Spain, again love your vid, real realy do since 2016!!🤗👍

Strange, this Mercedes GT looks like a cross between the Toyota GT and the Jaguar F-Type. I'd have it because it's a Mercedes.
I lived in Obernoiching near Munich 20 yrs ago and this test area is a mirror-image of the country side there.

well done man! but dark blue + black is very good combo! silver and chrome wheel look amazing on black car! :) also its funny because previous gen c class has mechanism for navi ...for the new one Benz say its too expe and they put the screen like cheep tablet on the dash ...and say ''its more classy'' ... this days car brands make some dirty tricks :)

Well. AMG GT is amazing machine from outside, I like interior also except this "V" from middle console. In my humble opinion its destroys whole interior. New R8 has WAY much better interior. By the way thanks for great review, like always ;)

Another great review... I saw the GT S at the Dallas car show absolutely stunning in the flesh... But with 911's moving to Turbo's this may put the Merc's and Jag's at a disadvantage in the psyche of the target customers as being outdated and less efficient. Also in the performance category we are starting to see the emergence of hybrid and EV technology which again just makes the V8 look slightly outdated. I drive a V8 and absolutely love the burble the rumble all that good stuff but I know in terms of efficiency and even performance I'll be moving to a turbo 6 with my next purchase. Still a beautiful car though...

Car manufacturers need to do something about the tight spaces on the floor next to the seats. I own a new Audi A3 tfsi Sportback with sports Alcantara seats. It is a bitch keeping dirt from failing down the sides of the seats..
