I daily drive a 2017 and I’m in love. The feel that’s delivered through the steering wheel is so spot on. I feel everything (in a good way). I’ve never felt so connected to a car.
I'm in love with that shape...the engine...the sound... I'm in love with the long bonnet... the interior,... the road noises even! I love this car to bits! The only problem is I'm watching from Kenya 🇰🇪. looking online, they go for about $90,000, if I were to ship one here plus taxes(we pay ALOT) id be looking at upwards of $180,000... I can only wish... and live vicariously through you
I like your videos mainly for the scenery! Always been a fan of my own back yard 😎
Good car reviews as well 👍
What a fantastic looking and sounding car, it sounds brilliant with the exhaust fully open, I'm in my 50's and I don't think I'd have any problem getting in and out of it, try a 1973 Triumph Spitfire which I had back in the day, the windscreen overlaps the cabin entry, I couldn't count the number of times that I belted my knee off of it when I got into it lol, great review though, I always click the like button on your videos as soon as it starts as I know that I will be watching a quality review, I've never been disappointed yet.
just gone 72 now ..had a E reg '67 Spitfire....ya wanna try canoodlin' in one of them!!!........
I can imagine, they were quite snug cars, mine was Mark 4 with overdrive in 3rd & 4th and came with wire wheels, plus both a hard and soft top, I wish that I still had it now.
It does sound really nice but I find the Lexus LC to have a weirdly satisfying sound. It sounds quite similar to that LFA they made ages ago.
I wish my missus had a rear end like this
She does
I love how throught the video, while driving and speaking, you added many shots and videos of the car. not only very nice car to look at but also keeps the video entertaining, unlike most other personal car reviews like this.
Damn you!
I’m now the happy owner of a Volvo V90 Cross Country after watching your S90 video.
I also own a MK3 Audi TTS Convertible after watching your video.
I’m not entirely happy with the Audi due to a lack of cylinders.
I’m now watching this video and there’s a convertible version available….
Haha sorry. Yes there is a convertible version!
Fantastic video Matt. Really enjoyed this one as I’ve always loved the Mercedes AMG GT. What an absolutely stunning car and awesome colour, your description is fantastic and gives a real sense of driving and owning the car. Enjoy and can’t wait to see more content on this beauty 😉👌🏻👍🏻
A beautiful looking car Matt and I love the colour too. Gotta love the mellifluous tones of the exhaust when the valves are opened. Simply lovely. 😉
You work hard enough, so it’s only what you deserve. I wish you all the very best.
Great word!
I’ve just driven one and it has been the best automotive experience of my life.
The gearbox is perfect and the more you push the car the more it asks for it. Absolutely incredible machine. You are so lucky to have it.
Love seeing another car I’ve had the pleasure of tinting on RUclips 👌🏼👌🏼
A beautiful car and definitely a keeper. It’s got that touch of real class. Listening to your description of the GTS , it struck me how similar the GTS is to my RWD f type R (both can be terrifying!) . Except the f type has the party trick of quiet cruising in comfort setting, which makes it a lovely long distance GT. I can’t afford to daily the f type though because I do lots of short journeys. Lets hope there’s some type of fuel for us in the future.

What a stunning piece of engineering 😍.
A true classic in every sence of the word. And again a no nonsense straight down the line car review.
Matt on parr as always.
It is certainly a good looking car. Nothing wrong with brutal, in my opinion - puts a smile on my face every day. Thanks for sharing.
Such a stunning car. Love the colour and the sound it makes
Congratulations on a stunning vehicle and all the hard work that has go you into one; awesome!
Tip for changing songs or stations on the multimedia screen while in Nav (or anywhere) - press the play/pause button on the centre touchpad, a little toaster message pops up on the centre screen of what is currently being played, then slide right or left on the touchpad (or turn the big toggle wheel) to jump to next or prev song/station.
Here we go!! I’ve been waiting for this one!!!
Never knew they existed. What a beauty. You are very right about it being already a classic.
Im so happy for you Matt! Thanks for the vid !👊
My pleasure!!
Ohhhhh now that is lovely. Fantastic car and insight ... I agree with your points ... Wonderful life affirming car . Well done
🎩 off to you mate 👏🏻 STUNNING!
The sounds are just everything, amazing buy Matt!
Beautiful car Matt love the colour enjoy every mile in it 👌 keep up the great informative videos
What a fantastic video. Such a beautiful car. I was following one on M40 this morning in my GLA45 ( not the new ugly new one ). we both gave each other thumbs up. Such lovely proportions. You have done well and you deserve this car. Great video as always brother.
Thank you!
"High Peak History" has a nice ring to it, I'd certainly watch!
Having followed your channel for a good while now your passion and knowledge of cars is clearly a big factor for your YT success. I'd also like to add that your preparation and delivery of the content makes the difference to other similar channels . High peak History channel is an easy yes to subscribe to . PS Cars not too shabby!!

I reckon a high peak history channel would be a good watch too 👍
Beautiful car Matt, the best of all worlds, for every type of driving you'll ever do, just keep the stereo on.
Best looking car at the current moment imho.
Thanks for the inspiration and keep on trucking!
I agree it's absolutely gorgeous. And the color is so beautiful. Clean well proportioned lines. Elegant without being overwhelming . A classic in the making
Very nice vehicle dude!! Thanks for showing us!!!
Ive got an ftype r and this was the main alternative I looked at. Both classy jeckyl and hyde big V8's. The rear wheel drive only for a daily use car was one of the reasons I went ftype r AWD as thats a lot of power in the wet to get down but watching this makes me think. The rarity factor especially. And your cars colour...stunning
Morning Mat the looks fantastic the colour is great and it sounds beautiful, so injoy having so a beautiful car .cheers Phil
Hi again, I drive a 2018 2 series bmw convertible 1.5 I would love see you do a video on one to see what you think of them, cheers Phil
If you can't stretch to this budget, a much cheaper option is an AMG C43 Coupe. I had one the same colour blue as this GTS with the glass roof and it was a fantastic car. I had it remapped at DMS, so it was producing 467Bhp, its was all wheel drive, so it wouldn't try kill you every winter and it sounded amazing (videos don't do it justice, sounded like a super bike at times). It wouldn't get as much attention as the GTS, but it did get a lot and people were always nice, as he says, the right kind of attention.
Great review, really got me tempted now!
Fantastic video + great cinematography!
I drove this on the circuit a few years back. It’s one of the best handling cars out there and the long bonnet looks amazing from the inside.
Another Excellent video,
Lovely car, I remember seeing one at a meeting and they are gorgeous, the exhaust sounds amazing. I think it's a hidden gem, the R8 is lovely but a bit to "common", like you said for the money it's hard to find something better, maybe the AMG S63 Coupe but I feel like this is more "special".
Love these cars and Yes it’s got the look of the 928 I had two 928’s both were the rare manual the last one was the S model light weight a fantastic car also had a Jenson Intercepter so I must like these long bonnets !!!Great car and a great review 👍
Totally agree. Beautiful looks and great colour choice.
Love this car…reminds me of my all time favourite ‘dream’ car whilst growing up, the Interceptor. Top video this on a awesome car, nice one 👍
Thanks! A very honest review!
Fantastic car, great review. Until you bought one of these and put it on your channel, I had no idea that they existed. Unusual, individual and exotic. I’d have one.
…..and I would watch the industrial revolution channel you spoke about.
Really nice car and a great review as always.
I think my previous comment got deleted because it had a link to the autotrader page. But I was searching for those cars for price comparison and saw yours! New car video coming soon? haha. Glad you had fun with the car!
If you ever get chance, try the GTS experience session at Mercedes world. I had the pleasure of driving the nuts off one last year and it was bloody wonderful- they handle and steer wonderfully on track. Great video.
Top review, Matt.
I was lucky enough to take one for a test drive here in Hervey Bay Queensland Australia. What you did not mention was how rigid the car felt as in stiff, I mean that in a nice way. The suspension worked well and it was a very comfortable drive. The car felt like it was a hand made racing car to be honest. It was a revelation to me compared to all the cars I have test driven.
To me the C class coupe from 2017 onwards is the most beautiful and affordable car I would love to get... But yeah this beast is amazing... Such elegant lines... Well done Matt😊👌
Brill channel. Brill reviews. Best of luck in all your endeavours.
Thanks, you too!
Solid review!
beautiful car and gorgeous colour too
Great video - as allways 👍🙂
I was on the same roads this weekend very fun! Car looks great especially in the blue
I never considered this car before because I thought it was a bit too high maintenance. I love the lines, been looking for an upgrade for a while thanks for bringing it to my attention. Fantastic review btw
Thanks!
Matt pleasure to watch the channel.
Love this channel!!! Greetings from Sthlm Sweden.
Thanks!
That's my favorite, what a beauty. Good on you.
Big fan of your videos Matt. Appreciate the fact that you cover all bases from bargain basement up. I for one would watch videos by you about 'Cottonopolis' and the like 🙂
Simply stunning..well done to you sir
Our Porsche also has 3 driving modes: Placid puppy, Rampaging lion and Fire-breathing dragon.
Love your work 👍
Beautiful car ,well done buddy 👍
Stunningly professional 'get the badge in' review
Lovely car, glad you're enjoying it.
The perfect machine and it suits you Matt, I also because of you got my S350d gearbox service done by SPR, very good garage and I asked the lady to say Hi to you next time you call in there lol
Ah very good! Well worth doing if you’re going to keep the car. Cheers
Loving all your content. can I suggest to you that you put a High pass filter (cut off the bass end of your audio) as when I play your videos through my sound system, the bass rumble shakes the windows! This filtering will make all your dialogue sound a lot clearer too! there's probably a basic filter system in your editing software.... DM me for more info if you want.
Quality car and great info
Great Car mate, Re History.... DO IT ! GO on have a go. Love history!
What a beauty on the eyes and ears. Rare, timeless designs like this are a no-brainier, they will always look a million dollars, even if the infotainment won’t!
Love this. Thank you
also… I would absolutely watch industrial revolution videos 🤞🏼
Interesting 🤔
Looks great 👌👌
“I like the delicate curvature of the rear” @1:30 well said 😂
I’m revealing my chat up lines 😂
Stunning 😍
Looks great. I thought about one, but went for its distant cousin, the Aston Martin Vantage.
I want to know when you are going to start your History Channel. Excellent Idea, that you should look into.
Maybe one day. Its something I'd enjoy doing
Big fan of your channel from across the pond. Your attention to detail and inspired vocabulary describing the feeling and feedback you get being behind the wheel of these cars. I would appreciate your thoughts and review on a late model Chevrolet Corvette if you have the chance to drive one. Aside from the top spec ZL-1 we've always been proud of the performance to value ratio for the Corvette. It may be a little wide for the narrow roads in the UK, but should keep a smile on your face when the driving becomes "spirited. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
Thank you for watching!
I think this is the overall best looking modern Mercedes sports car! In my eyes this us the true successor of the 300SL gullwing. I want my in silver.
I agree. I too like it in silver with the chocolate brown interior
I'm the first one to like this even before the video started to play 😁😁 That's how much i trust your reviews 👍🏻👍🏻
Wow, thanks!
Just great, as I'm in the finals of pinning down a Lexus LC500 or Vette C8, you have to post this! Boggerz
History teacher here Matt. Well up for a bit a British history/cars youtube channel. Maybe a tad niche but I'd be one of your 3 subscribers and I'd comment on each upload 😉
hah it's got same key as my 2006 c class. it's a beautiful car alright if I had the money I'd get one. you guys are so lucky when it comes to car tax mine is €630 per year. Great video as usual. you'd be surprised at how many people would if you did a history based channel I'd watch it.
Thanks! I'll think about content for that
I don't even like Mercedes as a brand but this is just perfect. Probably one of the best cars released in the last decade.
Yes…one of those please! One thing I am surprised by is the difficulty you mention changing radio settings. My R231 SL is a perfect lesson in how to do things properly. I get real buttons and knobs that work instantaneously and the Harmon Kardon is outstandingly good…altering or changing anything is as fast as your hand can move BUT if you wish, you can tell it to change and it will do it all for you. Navigation is good even if a few years old but then you use Waze anyway! I really love my SL and look forward to an AMG GT…hopefully 2019 onwards!🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼😀😀😀😀😀
'High Peak History' channel, yes please!
Very nice car... Will continue to age well
Matt have you ever heard of the Jay Foreman channel? It's got 1.15M subscribers. You're eloquent and plenty of people like history, you should defo do another channel for that 🙏
Beautiful car and good to see you enjoying it. You may well have completed " high performance but daily driver two seaters " now but I'm sure something else will turn up :-)
History and cars, two of my favourite things too! :) If you start a history channel, I'm there.
Thanks!
Working 7 days a week thoroughly deserved 👍
Stunning colour Matt and a beast of a handsome car. I get it. Turned your head even from a Jaguar XKR 5.0 SC which is one of your most watched reviews and a car you said you’d buy one day. I have a such an XKR in kyanite blue same mileage as your AMG and love it as much as you do your AMG GTS. I prefer the XKR lines so like you, will never sell the XKR and it was half the price of your AMG. It is not as technically competent of course as the GTS, but has the room for an XKR in your collection now been usurped by your AMG? Great review. Keep them coming. Jan
I'm by no means a real car enthusiast. I go as deep as watching Doug demuro on occasion.
But imo I think people will look back on this car 10-30 years from now as an absolute classic. I totally agree with you that this car has an absolute timeless look.
Let's see if that's right in a few decades.
Looking forward to the vids on industrial history of the UK.
Make a video series about the industrial revolution. I'd watch it, love that stuff.
"You wouldn't want to do a long motorway journey in this, as it's a bit loud" - thanks for this. As most of my driving fits this description, it's off my shortlist. It is a beautiful car though, and you've chosen one in a gorgeous colour.
Maybe try a Lexus LC500 V8. They’re superb and more refined
Obscenely good looking (the car Matt, the car..)
So glad I saw this because it reinforced my belief that this is my 🪣 bucket list car hopefuls.
My abiding memory of my test drive was the seating position in that you sit deep inside the car as can be seen in the video when your elbow couldn’t reach the top of the door without stretching upwards to rest on it. Other cars involve sitting above the steering wheel rather than behind it. Truly involving and truly sporty.
Great car... Merc knew exactly what they needed to do, to update and sell a modern Porsche 928 gte.
I would buy one, but I would secretly wish and hope it was a Porsche 928 :)
I first saw one of these on the outskirts of Cape Town doing the coastal route and was intrigued - it looked initially like a Porsche from a distance. It is a modern day classic already and even Quentin Willson owns one in Stratford upon Avon ! 😎
