I love the AMG GT - when I went to the local dealer to buy my E400, I nearly bought the wrong (right) car. That said, I think I would find the lack of opportunities to stretch its legs deeply frustrating - it’s rare to use the full 340bhp/700Nm of the E-Class. I do love, though, how the AMG looks, and that engine is to die for - every journey would be an event (albeit maybe a frustrating event). Congratulations on the subscription milestone - you’ve deserved it 💪

Seriously, for someone who's driven basically only bigger cars his entire life the Yaris is just a nimble and quick. And it's like the price on petrol went down 50% compared to my old car.

Geopolitical analyst Peter Zeihan spoke about EVs and the functional impossibility of mining and refining all of the materials required to produce the number of EVs they are claiming they're going to mandate by 2030; the other problem is generating and distributing power enough to charge said vehicles, let alone how to plug them in for most British street parking.
I actually doubt we're going to see the whole thing pushed through on the claimed schedule; particularly with global supply chains breaking down as they appear to be. In short - I don't really think we're going to see conventionally engined vehicles go away when claimed, they might have to hang around a fair bit longer than expected.
I hope so. Perhaps they can work on synthetic fuels

@@HighPeakAutos about a decade or more ago there was a process using gasification and a second method which could make gasoline like biofuel from regular farm waste for a lower price than the average of gasoline drawn from shale or regular market sources. Anything to do with fuel is highly dubious in terms of actually making it to market though even if it's the perfect product sadly... Maybe you could run the AMG on scotch like a Lord did decades ago?

WRONG Matt, If a recent report is anything to go by, done by the RAC into EV ownership , stated "Most EV drivers would have preferred buying and running a self charging hybrids, instead of waiting hours for recharging the batteries after midnight till 7AM when prices again rise to full cost." See and if like up with us in Scotland, recharging posts are infrequent to find that work as they are meant to. It is a FAFF by the Governments - no matter who is in power !!
I the U.S. the "road tax" carries by what state you live in. Some states have a flat fee regardless of the car, in Minnesota it is sort of based on the current value of the car. Our new CR-V is over $600, my '14 Accord is about $200. My collectable car, a '65 Corvair is a one time fee for the current owner, never pay again. My Corvair is almost exactly the same blue.😎

It’s silly how much tax we pay in the uk and road tax is a gimmick, the roads are not fit for the cars unfortunately, roads in furness vale got resurfaced and the council decided not to tarmac it, just straight onto road markings, typical!
Congratulations in the 250K! Well deserved. I'm far from a petrolhead (not least because I prefer diesel) but I watch your vids as soon as they up and I'm able to. They're just so entraining and informative. I think there's a thing that if someone is knowledgeable and enthusiastic, they can draw you in on any topic and make it fascinating.

Looking at a few 911’s. But one of these was parked next to a Porsche.

If you are hurting for money, don't buy this car. Just got my estimate from mercedes today: $2200 for a battery, $2900 for rear spoiler leaking water, $285 for cabin filter, $300 for engine filter, on and on...$5,200
The engine in these are incredible. I had a GLC 63 AMG basically the same engine and same power. I averaged 22mpg. I wish id never swapped it. the cracks and pops on downshift where smile inducing even after 40k miles. I had a mad urge to have a X3M so I swapped it for one. I wish I hadn't. I miss the engine and box everyday. the X3M is a better car far carrying the kids and its just as fast but you have to redline it everywhere. im getting 18mpg in this. The GLC price stabilised and the X3M has dropped like a stone.

Much prefer a C63 or E63, you at least get the practicality alongside the grunt!

Your continuity guy (probably you!) needs to get a grip. One moment you are going down Mellor Road towards New Mills and the next you are on Glossop Road heading for Marple Bridge. As a card-carrying local it really throws me. I really enjoy your channel and subscribed months ago. You really poght to get your fingernails dirty from time to time. Surely in the workshop there's a blast cabinet. The discs on that VW would be fixed for 90 mins removal and 10 mins blasting apiece. The rear screen .... is it the same on a Passat? The driver's door hinged are probably semi-seized. Oil tends to work .... plus-gas first. If there are no major mechanical problems or electrical widgets failing the car may be worth a bit of a refurb ...... not chucking money at it. Buy some farecla and mop it DIY. That's how to make/save money.
Next stop, 500k subscribers ! It will come, don't worry. Good job you don't live in Ireland : your road tax would be EU 2,400 annually. I guess insurance would be the same. Nearly 5 grand just to have it street legal in your driveway. Ouch ...
Love the car but Ive never been a speed freak so going 0-60 in 3 seconds doesn't appeal to me. Now if they maybe installed a inline 6, maybe even in hybrid form, and made it a cruiser, Id buy one for sure. As for EV. Especially after seeing how they suck in the winter, public charging stations seldom work, high cost of insurance and risk of fires that cant be extinguished and more... Well, Im not ready to go there yet.

There is a little cost that is quite important not mentioned, financing costs. 50k at 6% I believe it's about 3k per year.

I am not really a big car fan but I do like certain cars. I enjoyed this review and would love an AMG GTS. As for the EV hype, I hope it falls flat on its face. I don't think EVs are the way forward.

When you buy a trade vehicle (“I bought a cheap…”) how can you drive these cars around without displaying your trade plates? Or do you actually display them and remove them for the camera shots?
I follow rob and Chris from salvagebuilds too and rob always “snags” the cars for a couple of hundred miles before selling on.. I was under the impression that trade plates were for buying/selling/test drives/to-from MOT’s, repairs etc.

It's obvious why you're not selling it as it's the simple answer to your customer courtesy car dilemma 🙄 I could be your next customer as I have a 52 plate Corsa diesel that I'm looking to trade. I could perhaps use ths Merc as a customer courtesy car for about a week or so.
Congratulations on the 250k well 260k now I see. That is some car and I can't believe the costs to run it the only little issue is the £50k purchase price but I guess that is not what you paid for it. If only I had bought that instead of my i-Pace but then again it is not really dog friendly and it might be a bit of a struggle off road bu all in all a lot of fun.
I have all the same views on my 2014 XK convertible they are the collectors car of the future I am 65 so i dont think i will be around in 20 years time and by that time you will have millions of subscribers what do they say when the roof comes off the price goes up

I have seen a lot of AA approved ads on fb lately .Some of the comments are not very good .Perhaps you could do a video explaining what aa approved means and is it worth looking a their aa approved garages .
The real killer when it comes to car ownership is depreciation, so if you can avoid that, you are ahead already.
