Matt, you do remind me of myself. You are just a man who has tried multiple different ventures in your life and put your all into them. But then one day you caught your break with your car business and also here on RUclips. You talk about what you love most and people love your content! But sadly there are some people out there who just get jealous or wish they could be you and in return are negative about your on comments. IGNORE THEM! Look at yourself 10 years ago, when you wanted to be an actor and look where you are now.... who could have imagined?? You should be very proud of what you have achieved! 😊
The clue is in the title High Peak 'Autos'. It's not High Peak Samaritans. People have enough problems and view this content to learn about cars and the sales thereof, not to listen to someone bleating about their personal life issues.@@ericsbuell
I agree, and if I lived closer to Stockport, Highpeak would be my go-to car dealer. This show has really inspired me to keep on top of looking after my car cosmetically as well as mechanics.
That’s exactly how I see you, honest, decent, successful business owner and an all round decent and nice guy and the sort of person who I’d have a great friendship with. I’d love one of those Merc’s, I have an XK coupe but I’d love one of these too….this is my second additional dream car 🤣🤣
Smug or arrogant were never the impressions I got either. I simply saw Matt as someone who was good at his job, and does well for himself. I find his videos informative, entertaining, and good to watch.
You're not a smug or arrogant prick. You're great genuine person and it's also great that you also gave us a glimpse of your hardships, as this might help others to overcome their own (I have to do that currently) Thanks Matt
Good on you, Iv watched your videos for years, Your a really good presenter and should have total confidence in your self, but its ok not to be ok, and takes a real man to admit it, Good on you my friend
Hear, hear. Well said. Nobody is 100% ok 100% of the time. I guess the key is to recognise it, and not to be shy to reach out for support. And yes, retail therapy can be therapy. I passed one of these cars the other day, and it is certainly a head turner. You can always buy one back with the rent proceeds in a couple of years, with the added bonus that it will be cheaper. I stumbled across one of your 'I bought a cheap xxxx...' videos about 4 months or so ago. At the end of that video, I thought I really like this guy, his demeanour, presentation, wit, style, format, obvious love of cars among other attributes. Long story short, hooked, subscribed, spent many hours going over the history of your channel soaking up the content. And now, I'd say I'm a massive fan and you're honest, upfront and open nature in this video just cements everything I like about you and your channel. I've also found the last couple of years difficult post divorce, lost sight of looking after me and listening to you here has given me a real lift Matt. So, thank you, good luck with shifting the Merc, fingers crossed on the 2 x properties and I reckon you could potentially add 'life coach' to your skill set. You're great mate, change nothing about this channel, it's excellent.
Thank you for being so open about your struggles matt. It is good to see a man of your status being so transparent about the challenges of life, obviously you havent divoulged what your struggles were (understandably) but just being transparent results in being inspirational for young men like me. I'm so happy you are in a better place. you are the best youtuber in this space and are truly a selfless and genuinely decent person, remember that! Sad to the merc go but times change i guess.
Thanks Matt for sharing your troubles. It's very much a case of 'A problem shared is a problem halved'. Unlike many RUclips presenters you are the kind of person with whom you'd like to enjoy a pint at the pub. Straightforward, honest, caring. I wish you the very best for the future in whatever you choose to do. I feel privileged to be able to share in some of what you do. It is done so well!
I’m sorry to hear about the bad time you suffered with! Never ever worry about what other people might think about you ! You are who you are and good on you for ploughing through! And getting where you are now ! It’s never a good place suffering with self esteem but trust me I’m 60 now and I’ve been down many low roads ! But eventually found the high one it took time and I suffered one the way ! Honestly Matt from what I’ve seen of you whilst watching your channel you have nothing to worry about ! Onwards and upwards my friend with head held high 💪
I hear you loud and clear Matt, I had a similar situation in 2021 when I bought my 350 SL, didn't need it, as I own a 280 CLK (W209) but it was my F**k it car, life wasn't great personally, I was going through a tough time. The car always looked great and when I did plan to sell the car, it had served its purpose. Unfortunately people have a perception when they don't know you, quick to judge and pass comments, it's how people use the internet which is the problem. Keep going as you are, I see you as humble with life experience y hables espanol.
The fact you have so many regular followers here Matt is a real credit to you. Im glad you stuck with the channel, as others have said here, you’re a top bloke.
Matt, I know it probably took a lot to open up, and that just gives your 'repeat customer' viewers even more of a reason to give you massive respect. You're a breath of fresh air in what - let's face it - is a pretty unpopular profession. That's down to your effort and honesty. The regular mantra of 'I've massively overspent....', the banter with your brother, the lack of macho posturing (clearly your regular mechanic is a woman, a fact that you mention very matter-of-factly), your clearly excellent relationships with the valeters/wheel refurbishers/trim repairers/dent pullers/paint magicians, the road trips to Spain and other places, the goldmine of useful information (from cambelt-change reminders to where to rent electric cars in Bermuda), all give me and many others 101 reasons to watch day after day. Never doubt yourself. Trolls will be trolling.
I've watched the vast majority of your videos, Matt and I have NEVER EVER thought you arrogant. Honest, trustworthy, hard working & genuine. But never arrogant. The videos keep getting better & better. Keep 'em coming, Matt
Matt, I have been watching your videos for years now. You are my ‘go to’ on RUclips as I have commented many times before. It takes massive courage to share your very personal feelings in public and, as someone who has suffered from similar issues myself, I have nothing but the deepest respect for you. Thank you so much for sharing, it means a lot to me as I sure it does to many others. You are an inspiration. Thank you 🙏🏼
Exactly. Matt gets out of life what he puts into it, and fair play to him. He never puts anyone else down. He simply makes the most of his own abilities....
You’ve never struck me as smug, Matt. You’re just a genuine, hard working guy. You clearly resonate with people because your videos are so popular. Keep up the great work! 😎
I liked this video, it resonated with me. I also bought my dream car (Nissan GT-R) at a worse point in my life for much the same reasons, I needed the money and space to buy a house. I also miss it and I'm not that materialistic but it was a tough decision. Though my situation doesn't seem to have recovered as well as yours, maybe some day. I really enjoy your videos, they are very relatable and genuine - smug or arrogant is not ever something I'd imagine anyone call you.
@@eagleairborne7132thank you for the kind words. I already had a house - but it was the right decision, the car just showcased what I'd worked hard for. Unfortunately, unlike Matt, I didn't recover quite as well (yet) and it's been tough in this climate, while also self-employed with responsibilities. I guess we are all different.
Matt, sorry you went through a "bad time". I've been there, it creeps up on you. Diffiuclt to climb out of the darkness but you're doing great. Onwards and upwards.
An honest human, with a fantastic hobby/job. The skills to show us the world of cars/properties/life is. What a relief i found the channel. Keep on with your good work/life.
Hi Matt, brilliant to hear you speaking out about you mental health issues. Men are notorious for keeping it quiet and suffering alone. Thank you for sharing.
top video . can't quite remember how and when I came across your channel. but from the first video i remember thinking what genuine believable communicator/honest salesman and youtube presenter you are
Hi Matt, As someone who has reinvented himself several times I see you as a 100% sound guy who can be trusted to always do his best for his clients, family, friends and everyone you come into contact with - whether it`s a waiter in a restaurant or the guy delivering your parcels etc etc. Love your videos Matt and how you present yourself and the motors. Keep going!
Matt, very sorry to see that you are selling that beautiful Mercedes. More importantly, immense credits to you for speaking of your low. period. Brighter days ahead my friend, and never mind the naysayers..😀. Keep up up the greats channels..👍.
Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing something personal. An encouragement that you can help yourself and turn your life around! Love your videos. Love the no waffle and just say it as it. Keep going!
Among other aspects of your videos, I'm really impressed that you seem to manage your spiel without scripts. It's very natural sounding. Very good. Just thought I'd mention it . . .
Thanks for opening up, we are all human and all very different. My short story is I drove HGV's for nearly 30 years - career change and new job, employed as the Highway officer, office working with site visits. Bang - imposter syndrome kicked in. I had always struggled with the written word and felt out of step. The end result, went from strength to strength, I smashed it, only my lorry driver's brain was holding me back!
Great video - and I'm not talking about the car bit (although that's as good as usual), but your opener about self-esteem and your turnaround. I am always heartened when people with a platform use it to help others, which is what the opener does. Bet your circa 2022 self couldn't have predicted that you could do a video that would reach 125,000 people within 2 days of posting. You deserve every one of those views and more. Keep going.
Doubled edged sword I should think. Ie part of your success is having high standards (all too rare these days but it's a common trait in successful people for a reason). The trick is to not go overboard with it, particularly when it comes to yourself. Very good is good enough. As I show by watching pretty much everything you put out! @@HighPeakAutos
My favourite channel on RUclips without a shadow. Funny and witty in every video and can't help but keep tuning in. Keep the head up Matt you're one of the good guys.
You present in an accessible, smart and consistent way. Innuendo free, and straight up about the plus and minuses. Always waiting to hear, "needs a good buff". A funny Northerner, that one! Well done, Matt. You are one of the good 'uns. We can all waste energy worrying about how others view us. People should stop judging, do their part to make others lives more validated. Look forward to the next vid as always!
Scoured many a channel looking for opinions on a car I wanted to buy a couple of years back. Having waded through what felt like far too many folk right into themselves, this channel appeared! Like many others, I can confirm you’re neither smug or arrogant. If anything, it’s been great to see you grow in confidence these past couple of years. Keep it up Matt 🤙
A sensible head over heart decision. The thing with dream cars is that as soon as you get one, you love it, you're fulfilled, content in the attainment of your ambition. But, as time goes buy, your head will get turned by another. You gnash your teeth, agonise and argue with yourself until you let out a big sigh and make that fateful decision. I won't tell you how you'll feel when it's finally sold, that would spoil it. All that said, the thing with dreams is that they're unlimited - on to the next, whatever the dream is. Thanks for sharing.
Matt been a fan of your channel for a while now and have enjoyed all your vids. but became an avid fan after your first walk around your showroom and how hilariously honest your were about the cars, not something you would expect from a car dealer. and as for the negative comments of you being smug or arrogant i find the total opposite anybody who can take the mick out of them self ....(ive massively over spent) i find shows great character. so please keep up the great work fella
I watch your videos and actually admire how confident you portray yourself on camera. You definitely don’t come across as someone that suffers with low self esteem.Glad to hear your now in a better place. Thanks for sharing something a bit more personal about yourself. As per usual a top video.Keep them coming👌🏻
Matt, I have recently been in a very similar boat, having been suffering from PTS as a result of my former job, so I understand how you can feel. You are a good bloke mate, and you probably don't realise it but, making your videos, I can guarantee, helps a lot of people. It has certainly helped me. I'm glad you have improved how you are feeling, and thanks for everything mate. You're a good egg.
I went through the same feelings when I sold my M140i, prepare for a lot of "what if" feelings. I know I needed to sell it, but I still long for the feeling I got in, pushed the start button and heard the bark of it coming alive. Ill have another one day, when im sure i won't have to sell it ever again.
I've been watching your videos for a few months now, I didn't know about your weight loss journey and the difficult periods that you went through. You're an honest and humble person, it's some of the reasons why I come back to watch your videos. By far the best car channel.
Love your channel Matt. Huge props for the mental health chat too. I suffer and just bought a Lexus RC 300h Takumi pack. I’ve hated driving for years. Now even traffic isn’t bothering me. The smile on my face just looking at the car is worth the money alone. Thanks Matt. Keep up the amazing work on your channel.
You’re a good guy Matt, you’re an honest business person and passionate about what you do. We absolutely love your videos, and always look forward to watching your latest content!
100% relatable! We’ve all been there and never considered you arrogant from the lens in which we know you, your YT channel. Could listen to you all day and think there’s a lot to be learned from your story & experience. ⭐️
I was very surprised to hear you suffer with low self esteem Matt. I've been the same way for many years. So I take my hat off to you for sharing that. The car is really nice and I'm sure someone is going to enjoy it just like you.
I've never seen you as smug or arrogant. Always seem to me like a respectable, gentlemanly bloke. Thank you for sharing your personal reasons for doing what you did. Brings a whole new level of personality to the channel and brings your fans even closer to you. Keep doing what your doing and wishing you the highest level of success!
Sorry to hear about the low self-esteem Matt, we appreciate you and appreciate what you do for the industry. Honestly couldn't tell but keep it up. 1% better each day. God Bless
Realising the equity in your car is very liberating. You kinda feel grown up when you make the decision. You’ve moved on and are laying down a stronger foundation for the next exciting period in your life. I understand everyone is different and I was guilty of owning expensive cars- now I take pride that my adult sons have no interest in owning a car. Well done you - I’m sure your friends and family are very proud of you.
I started to watch your videos during lockdown and all i can say, that there is no other cardealer, youtuber more genuine and honest then you.i really look up to you as a person, and its its also very educational.thank you
Good story man, I started a year ago with a humble 2018 SLC, and planning to get such AMG GT within the next 3 years. Wishing you the best for you, keep up the good work.
As someone who’s been watching your videos since when you first started, Matt, I’d say that’s absolutely the right decision. You’re doing so many things right, and as someone who has suffered from low self-esteem myself, I’ll say you’re doing all you can to be the best version of yourself that you can be, and that’s admirable. Brotherly love to you, mate. *Edit: I should add that anyone’s negativity is a reflection of themselves and their own jealousy and it’s for them to deal with. You deserve to be nothing but proud of yourself and for how far you’ve come and what a fair and good bloke you are.
Hi Matt. You've always struck me as a genuine, honest guy with solid business ethics and heart of gold. If that's not enough, you are also a rare example especially in this generation, of someone who has a good relationship with your family. I have mentioned that every time I come to the UK, I hire a Rav4 from Toyota rentals to drive from London to Scotland and back and have always been more than happy. I'm been hiring from them for almost two decades. Unfortunately, when I came to book this year, I was told that they'd closed down their rental department. So, I had to look elsewhere. The best option i had was a local rental company offering a Ford Kuga Auto (not Hybrid) for more than twice as much as the Rav4 was. Prices for car rentals have become so high that I was wondering if I use the car say, for 3-4 weeks every year, if it was worth buying a cheap second hand vehicle and giving it to my brother to look after during the rest of the year? Does that sound like a better option than paying £500 for one week rental?!!!!
You bought our 2002 SL500 off us in September last year Matt and thoroughly enjoyed our natter with you in the showroom. Sound bloke! Totally get the idea you no longer need the flash car to feel good about yourself. I had a 911 991.2 C4S for nearly two years, which made me feel like ‘I’d made it’. Also had the solid gold, brand new Rolex to go with it. The watch had gone within 12 months. The motor within 24. Things don’t make you happy. Experiences do, and that’s what my wife and I now prioritise. Good luck with the sale mate.
I’m very glad you have got over your “Down period” you are a good person who brings interesting experiences to many people on YT, KEEP IT UP A LOT OF PEOPLE ENJOY IT
Well done Matt you opened up there and by doing so I bet you helped a lot of people who need to know there is always hope, you may be lacking a bit in self esteem but your not a coward by putting yourself out there.🙏
Ok your videos made me miss my nightly 930pm scramble to Aldi to get ice cream before they close. Your videos has a human element to it and that is what resonates and transcends beyond the fascination of gears, metal, & horsepower. Cars we own represent something deeper for each person. For dad owning a Mercedes represented the years of hard work whilst raising 4 kids. I saw and felt the joy the car brought to him. He even got a clunker of a jeep which barely went 20 mph as he had one in the Philippines. Covid taught us life is short. Life work balance is important. Mental health is finally talked about. We all go through difficulties. Work hard, play hard and do what makes you feel happy. Looking to buy used Ford Streetka convertible to use this year for the two weeks of summer in UK. Keep your channel real and do you 👍🏻cannot expect those without kindness in them to give it to others. On to next video. ASDA stays open til midnight 😅
Sorry to hear about your difficult time, but you got through it and you will do in the future too. The highs and lows are part of what makes us human. On the positive side, money can’t buy happiness - but a sports car can! It’s funny how all those bits of plastic, rubber and metal, with a dollop of dinosaur juice can stimulate our positive energy and generate a bit of inner sunshine. I find your honesty admirable, very authentic and always informative and interesting videos. Thankyou.
What a lovely comment section, take some pride in it Matt! I subbed years ago, it’s truly inspiring to see the journey. I think you’re relatable and down to earth, very deserving of all that comes your way mate.
I moved to Cornwall seven yrs ago a dream move with my missis we bought a small holding but cutting a story short she went off with the builder who I employed to do work on our property but 2 yrs later I'm fine living in a studio flat 5 mins from the beach I've just at to get on in life and I'm happy and single you come across as nice bloke Matt and I'm still obsessed with your vids😅
I haven’t watched most of your videos, and been a subscriber for 3 or more years, just to find you’re a smug git. I’ve said it many times, you’re an extremely genuine, honest guy who deserves all of his success.
Matt you seem like a nice genuine guy, I find that others may become jealous and that’s where the animosity comes from. You’re ok by me, keep the videos coming.
One of the ways that people think you are an amazing bloke is how much you actually care about the customer and try to do the right thing. Even at cost to you. Secondly you look after your mum even buying her a car. For me the mark of a great bloke is this if i saw you anywhere id instantly want to shake your hand and buy you a drink. We watch the channel because we really like you as a person and the qualities you show. That is testament to you Mat. Don't be down on yourself we think your ace 👍🏾
Hello; You may never read this, but I thought, it was quiet brave, to say those personal things about yourself. Bravo! You know alot of things that i don't know, how to refurbish an auto. Here in the states, I enjoy your videos immensely,so. All the very best, Shaun 🦉 of New York City 🗽
Thanks for sharing your story. I would have never thought of you as either insecure nor arrogant. Just a nice bloke. And I think you’re doing the right thing by selling the AMG. It doesn’t seem to be you and the money is much better invested in property
Keep up the good work Matt, it’s nice to see a local person making quality content like yourself. I see your white Range Rover on the road often on the A34, puts a smile on my face seeing it 👌
Like you I turned my life around and lost a lot of weight. I was exactly the same and thought how can I make myself happier? I started traveling as much as I could and then bought a TT. But I also recently moved on from the TT for a standard car. You always come across as a down to earth person to me and imagine you being a kind person. Usually the not so kind comments come from people who are not happy with their own lives and unlike us making a change they take it out on others.
Nice to see personal insights to be honest Matt, makes the channel stand out a bit more. Sad it's gone, but hopefully you'll get something just as (if not even more) awesome one day!
Well spoken again Matt. I believe that car purchases are good therapy. In my own case I had a heart attack and almost died in 2018. At the time I owned an X300 XJ6 as my weekend car. After the HA I was feeling a bit low mentally as well as physically so what did I do...... went out and bought a mint E36 convertible and i suddenly felt a whole lot better about life. Still have the convertible and still loving life.
From the very first video I watched Ive always had the feeling you're a truly lovely bloke and this video confirms it. You break the mold of a 'car dealer' in the best way possible, you deserve every success that comes your way.
I think you're really entertaining and care about the cars you buy, prepare, and sell. Let the haters hate They're probably just sat in front of their tablet in some lonely room looking out the world with envey, surrounded by old beer cans and covered in Dorito crumbs.
I've been watching your videos for a couple of years, now. Not once have I thought that you were arrogant or smug. I find your presenting style informative, witty (describing the back end of a Jag XJ as being in another post code 😀) and engaging. It's pretty obvious that you enjoy your job and sharing your enthusiasm with others. Keep up the good work! BTW...I think that's an awesome Merc!!!
Who would not want to buy a car from Matt, the best, well dressed, good looking and most honest, confident and polite Car Salesman. Matt you are far away from Smug or arrogant! i Would not care about the comments Matt, i get hate all the time from people that are jealous of me for having a business since i was 16! Will miss the GTS but there might be something even better coming soon! Stay as you are Matt, youre the best!
Well done Matt for coming out and saying about some of your issues and whatnot, very brave thing to do on your popular car channel. You're always smartly turned out, entertaining, funny and informative and the videos make for great entertainment. Don't listen to the naysayers, we have a terrible habit in the country (some people that is) of trying to knock someone which, I think, comes from envy on their part. Too bone idle to do anything successful themselves, they get enjoyment from putting others down. Well, a huge majority of us on here watch your youtube stuff and love it. Carry on the great work mate and long may it continue!
Ever since I have started watching your videos to current, I can’t name a single negative comment about you. You seem like a truly humble and genuine guy, keep up the great work!
Rarely will you find someone who doesn’t doubt themselves or their value at some point in their life but props to you mate for being honest about it. Best of luck selling your cars and for the future of HPA 👍🏻
I did the same thing not on your level but bought the most silly car a Abarth 595. It was loud and impractical but it made me smile every time. Enjoyed it for a couple of years then moved on to something more sensible. Still fondly remember it and that makes me smile again.
Hi Matt, as you know I’ve had my fair share of trolls online. As you mention, it sadly comes as part of the package. The best advice I got was to focus on the 99 out of a hundred comments that are positive, from your true fans, not the 1 negative. And remember that nobody ever punches down. Happy and accomplished people aren’t trolls. The ones who wake up hoping to see the world burn are always in a crappy place in life and are desperately unhappy. Hurt people, hurt people, and when you realise you actually need to feel sorry for them instead of letting them affect you, it becomes easier. All the best mate.
Sorry you're having to sell your car, Matt. You carry on doing what you're doing 'cause we like you just way you are. Wouldn't be HighPeakAutos otherwise. All the best 👍🏿 ❤💯
That car is almost the same as the '17 F-Type R I had. Loved that car but alas, an elderly (in his 80s) un-attentive Australian gentleman ran into the back of it when I was stopped awaiting a left hand turn. I was even in a dedicated turn lane. Somehow the bloke came into my lane and hit us going about 45MPH. Speed limit was 35MPH on that section of the parkway but he was doing closer to 60 until he hit the brake skidding into us about 50 feet before he hit us @ 45MPH (police stated that is his projected speed based on how far he pushed us across the motorway, across a curb and into a field. Fortunately, the cab of that thing is built like a tank and other than minor flash burn from the airbags, nobody was injured. Like me, you WILL miss it but there is always something new over the horizon. Chin up! #subscribed just now.
Lovely motor Matt, i changed my life and priorities three years ago. I got rid of my new car and pcp payments and bought some i could afford and liked...e92 msport 330d and i love it, but also changed countries recently and bought affordable house and i am healthier and happier.

Agree 100%! It takes strength to talk in a public forum about going through tough times. ❤. It IS a stunning car!
I've watched the vast majority of your videos, Matt and I have NEVER EVER thought you arrogant.
Honest, trustworthy, hard working & genuine. But never arrogant.
The videos keep getting better & better. Keep 'em coming, Matt
Finally someone who is personally honest about themselves! Wish more people would be like this!
Thank you!
Thank you 🙏🏼
Fair play for going through what ever it was and coming through the other side, you’re doing well and you deserve your fruits of your labour
Exactly. Matt gets out of life what he puts into it, and fair play to him. He never puts anyone else down. He simply makes the most of his own abilities....
@@Brian-om2hh most definitely
You made the best decision. A house is a necessity, at a later stage you could end up getting same car or better.
I’m absolutely impressed with your honesty, your format. You’re a great narrator as well. Enjoy the rest of your cars 😊
Thank you for sharing.
top video . can't quite remember how and when I came across your channel. but from the first video i remember thinking what genuine believable communicator/honest salesman and youtube presenter you are
Hi Matt,
As someone who has reinvented himself several times I see you as a 100% sound guy who can be trusted to always do his best for his clients, family, friends and everyone you come into contact with - whether it`s a waiter in a restaurant or the guy delivering your parcels etc etc.
Ignore the trolls, you're not smug at all, you're great at what you do. Love the channel
Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing something personal. An encouragement that you can help yourself and turn your life around! Love your videos. Love the no waffle and just say it as it. Keep going!
Thank you so much!
That’s interesting- it’s a funny thing isn’t it
Great video - and I'm not talking about the car bit (although that's as good as usual), but your opener about self-esteem and your turnaround. I am always heartened when people with a platform use it to help others, which is what the opener does. Bet your circa 2022 self couldn't have predicted that you could do a video that would reach 125,000 people within 2 days of posting. You deserve every one of those views and more. Keep going.
That’s true. I’m just very critical of myself
Thank you so much!!
Very honest and open, helps everyone that has moments of crisis, thank you.
Matt, you’ve always struck me as a genuine guy who backs himself doing what he loves doing. Keep enjoying life.
You’re a good guy Matt, you’re an honest business person and passionate about what you do. We absolutely love your videos, and always look forward to watching your latest content!
Thanks
I started to watch your videos during lockdown and all i can say, that there is no other cardealer, youtuber more genuine and honest then you.i really look up to you as a person, and its its also very educational.thank you
There’s no arrogance or smugness I’ve ever detected. You’re humble and honest. Keep up the great videos.
Good story man, I started a year ago with a humble 2018 SLC, and planning to get such AMG GT within the next 3 years.
Wishing you the best for you, keep up the good work.
Ah, glad it helped you through to the up and up... This life is blooming tough sometimes... But there's much good to look forward to, I'm sure
What a guy! Been watching the channel for 4 years, immensely happy for you Matt, what a journey so far !
Never considered you as smug or arrogant, always enjoyed the videos because of how down to earth and relatable you are.
Thanks for the honesty Matt- We’re all winging it and trying to evolve. Well done for taking life by the horns.
All the best to you.
Great comment ❤👍👊
Nice to meet you too and your SL was lovely. All the best
You seem to be an honest person. You sell cars with honesty and effort. Cant get more confident than an honest person who has integrity.
You’re an inspiration Matt. You constantly show how far someone can get with good old hardwork and you always put a positive spin on everything
Thank you. I’ve been blown away by it
I moved to Cornwall seven yrs ago a dream move with my missis we bought a small holding but cutting a story short she went off with the builder who I employed to do work on our property but 2 yrs later I'm fine living in a studio flat 5 mins from the beach I've just at to get on in life and I'm happy and single you come across as nice bloke Matt and I'm still obsessed with your vids😅
Sorry to hear that
Great looking motor! Many thousands of us really appreciate you and your excellent content.
Matt , Thank you for your honesty- a rare commodity in the motor industry. Best wishes for you and your businesses going forward.🚙
Thanks!
Hello;
You may never read this, but I thought, it was quiet brave, to say those personal things about yourself. Bravo! You know alot of things that i don't know, how to refurbish an auto. Here in the states, I enjoy your videos immensely,so.
All the very best,
Shaun 🦉 of New York City 🗽
You seem like a solid guy to me, man. Sorry to hear of your rough patch. Very interested in how you managed to turn it around. Inspiring!
From the very first video I watched Ive always had the feeling you're a truly lovely bloke and this video confirms it. You break the mold of a 'car dealer' in the best way possible, you deserve every success that comes your way.
Brilliant vid. Honest. Insightful. Courageous. Things that need to be said, out loud, by men. Thank you. Love this channel.
That was a nice, somewhat surprising personal story!
You’re doing well
I think you're really entertaining and care about the cars you buy, prepare, and sell.
Thank you. Very kind of you
Well done Matt for coming out and saying about some of your issues and whatnot, very brave thing to do on your popular car channel.
Thanks
Takes a solid lad to talk about mental health, it’s something us chaps need to do more off. Respect to yea.
Ever since I have started watching your videos to current, I can’t name a single negative comment about you. You seem like a truly humble and genuine guy, keep up the great work!
I appreciate that
Great to hear you're in a better place than before, and you've always seemed like a honest guy so keep it up and trust in yourself
Rarely will you find someone who doesn’t doubt themselves or their value at some point in their life but props to you mate for being honest about it. Best of luck selling your cars and for the future of HPA 👍🏻
You set yourself goals and you score! Well done young man.
Thanks for sharing Matt, glad your in a better place mentally. Cars can be replaced. Keep doing what you do
I did the same thing not on your level but bought the most silly car a Abarth 595. It was loud and impractical but it made me smile every time. Enjoyed it for a couple of years then moved on to something more sensible. Still fondly remember it and that makes me smile again.
I think this is one of the best videos you have done! To hear you talk about self esteem and confidence is really inspiring. Absolute respect.
Good honest video. No point holding onto the car if it’s not being used.
Well said. Thanks pal
