Holger has been around for a LONG time and regularly delivers us reviews. As we cover about 150 different cars per year, it is obvious that Thomas cannot cover all vehicles, Autogefühl is a true team effort.
Full coverage of the car and a slightly different style than Thomas and the rest. Holger made some nice progress looking at the previous reviews, far less nervous more entertaining with still that German humour (yes there is) and precision. Thomas, watch out!

what a refreshing review from holger. a massive improvement from reviews gone by. i think he is finding his groove. well done holger, keep up the great work! the rs3 is an amazing car, though as holger pointed out, very expensive, aud $90k in australia! its fast, 0 - 100kph in 4 seconds, which is supercar territory. id be looking at the golf r over this for the budget-ish pocket rocket option, or alternatively, for a little bit of extra money, the audi s4.

This American wants the Sportback and real S-Avants again. My daily driver is V60 T6 R-Design perhaps because Audi chose not to compete here? Sedans/estates sales are falling, as crossovers gain preference, so the "two box" configuration is trending. Time to bring our Euro sex-wagons back!
The modern 5 cylinder turbo is a dream for this former Audi aficionado. Thanks to Audi for keeping this engine in production.
I've previously owned two green Audi's (emerald and Cambridge pearl hues), so I like green, but this viper green scorches the retinas. I'd rather something less abusive to the eyes yet still hot and distinct, like a cactus green metallic.
The size is ok for its intention, a compact for the young professional. I see this car as a direct descendant of the urRS4, though it is an A body not a B. If you need more room, see its bigger brothers, S/RS4 & 6.

I love this colour - it looks so aggressive - fits perfectly. The drive was awesome even though I would have loved to take it to a race track!

oo7Grexx how tall are the both of you? I know this is a compact car, though I'm curious as to the cutoff height for taller people.
That8oySimba9302 we are both 5'6". I recall having lots of legroom and headroom. When you get a chance try to sit on the S3.
I have a feeling you (and your 2 year old) will love every second. It still puts a massive grin on my face every time I go for a drive! Enjoy :)

I like how even the top trim level of this Audi (RS3) doesnt include the electric seating and steering wheel positioning, just like these scumbag luxury and unnecessary extras that MB and BMW usually have. I like how they keep it simple yet handy. Good job.

Good work Holger. I can tell you have a need for speed. But you should have done a much longer review, at least 40-45 minutes. This car is way better than 14 minutes.

Your (Holger's) summary of the car was right in the point... Do I like the car? Almost. I think some compromises aren't bad. In theory if I had the free money to spend that would be the reason for me to go for the Golf R. It seems almost as fast, but in the same time a bit more daily drive friendly - and I am form Europe and I like a lot hatches, liftbacks and estates :D

Rs3 is in a golf chassis. Should be in the A4 chassis (engine) that is which has a double wishbone front suspension, front and rear. Rotate that engine around from transverse to longitudinal.
alex meir I do agree partially but the mqb is a much better platform.
Americans LOVE hatchbacks. The decision to not bring the hatchback or the Avants to the US was a terrible decision made by Audi EU execs.
Audi claims the data shows that Americans don't buy hatchbacks yet you can look at any city in the US and find a plethora of Ford Focus hatches, Honda Civic hatches, VW Golfs, etc. they also claim we don't like wagons yet I see plenty of the BMW wagons, Volvo wagons, etc. these kinds of vehicles are for enthusiasts and the enthusiasts would snatch these up quickly if they brought them here. I'd love an RS3 Sportback or RS4 Avant. I can't only hope that Audi decides to turn the S5 Sportback into and RS5 Sportback because I'll be all over that since we can't get a wagon here.
That isn't entirely true. Even with only a 2% market share, Mazda sells a ton of Mazda 3 hatches in the US. You also mention the Golf and Focus and those sell very well here. American's buy a lot more hatches than they do sedans in the low to mid-tier markets. Now if we are speaking of high performance hatches then you would be correct and that is mainly because there aren't many hi performance hatches in the US outside of the Focus ST and the aforementioned Golf.
