My opinion on the Escalade vs Grand Wagoneer continues to change.
Exterior: Escalade. It screams luxury when you see one on the road.
Interior: Undecided. I like the seats and the sound system in the Escalade. I like the passenger side screen, the second row console and the third row amenities in the Grand Wagoneer. The screens in both vehicles are exceptional.
    Engine: Grand Wagoneer
I look forward to test driving each SUV in the near future. Regardless of the looks and amenities, how each vehicle feels on the road will be my deciding factor.

  • @krane15
    @krane15 2 года назад +10

I'll say one thing about the Cadillac, it has one of the most distinctive styling in the car industry - especially its lighting (I prefer the amber turn signals). Nothing else on the road looks like it. Even without the badging you can tell its a Cadillac.
Anyway, it would appear that you have a very long torso, so that contributes to your headroom even more than total height. Still, that body type makes for a better test since it goes down from there. In addition, the Cadillac there is a long wheelbase version of that vehicle.
Jeep/RAM is probably the ONLY company (beyond premium sedans) that take into account the comfort and quality of its rear seat passengers. Outside of Jeep, who would bother with stitched armrests in the rear?
In every other car company, regardless of type, the rear compartment is always the equivalent to second-class. For example, nobody else builds a car with power, massaging, or even ventilated rear seats.
Too bad you didn't mention anything about the sound system or controls, but I guess we have to tune in to DD if we want all the quirks and features of the automobiles.

@@johnadkins3466 That's something that distinguished Stellantis product above all other carmakers. When you sit in the rear seats its not like you're sitting in steerage. There's just as much attention to detail and comfort as they put into the first row. Because you sit higher, you don't feel like a second class citizen.
The only thing missing is of course would be the ability to adjust the height, so even your Sumo brothers can be comfortable. One of the few justifiable reasons to own these types of vehicles.

@@hellkitty1014 Let’s compare interiors. The Jeep has a bunch of screens all over the place, with shiny plastic everywhere, and that oddly shaped/integrated wide wood veneer that definitely makes this thing look like a Wagon. It’s luxurious and nice but gaudy and some of it looks out of place.
The Escalade’s interior is better executed with better technology and a more intuitive user experience. The infotainment system actually has 2 UX’s and a curved AMOLED that’s wrapped and stitched in leather. And all 38-inches of curved glass and organic LEDs are integrated directly into the curvature in the vehicles dash and then the display is wrapped & stitched in leather. The gloss finished high detailed engineered wood looks expensive and beautiful. A uninterrupted flow of dash and curved glass makes the GW’s interior look very “busy”. It’s not just the physical display, Cadillac’s infotainment software is leaps and bounds ahead of Jeep’s.

I’ve had an escalade and now a new wagoneer. I absolutely love the look of escalade, however, Wagoneer hits on practicality.
Simple things; hitting the cooling/heat. Wagoneer is very simple when it comes to climate control. Which is positioned under the screen and is more manual.
Not sure about the new Escalades you used to have to slide. Which was totally an annoyance and keeps your left hand further away from the steering column.
Always had electricity problems with Escalades and the screens on Escalades always have faulty issues…hoping wagoneer doesn’t have the same issues.
The 2022 Wagoneer, has amazing features. Especially with passenger control. The real version of navigator.
In the wagoneer…The sensors will also inform you if have something in the rear/back. It’s a nice friendly reminder, for busy people.
More head room in Wagoneer, but Escalade has a an elite look.
Both have there strengths. It depends what you use the vehicle for.

Likely more reliable too. I have owned recent Cadillacs and FCA (now Stellantis) vehicles. I trust Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep more TBH. Cadillac has worsened while FCA has improved. (See the CT6 for example). Badass car. Terrible reliability. I chose the Continental 3.0 TT AWD Black Label over the mechanically superior CT6 3.0 TT AWD Platinum because of it's reliability history.
