My 2008 Wrangler also has seat massage: Just drive off road without airing down. 🤣
Oh shit I never looked at it that way, if that's the case then my samurai had a full body massage thing going on lol.
@jeepfreak4life76 🤣😂
I can't believe what I just watched! The Grand Cherokee and the Grand Wagoneer made this off-roading look easy - in street tires no less! 👍👍
@@HVACRDUDE ummmm, no
@@HVACRDUDE Is that you, Scotty Kilmer?
@@HVACRDUDE you wish!
@THE HVACR DUDE I will pay you 1k cash to meet me up there and do it in your Corolla and I get to film it and put it on YT. You have to keep going and do the entire track. No funny business, showing up with a corolla on 35's and a solid axle swap.
That was not off-roading! Find some sand, mud, or snow!
As an older business owner who has reached his prime in income, I go through several new car every 2 years. I will say haven owned a grand Cherokee with the 5.7 and now owning a wagoneer series 3 it’s no comparison in 0-60. The light weight to HP ratio of the grand Cherokee with the v-8 took off like a rocket and still got me 21mpg in the country roads. (Keep in mind there is 4cyl cars that barley reach that). flip to my wife’s new wagoneer series 3, the comfort level is a blessing. It does not take off like a rocket but weather I’m driving on the farm or pulling the trailer loaded with a tractor, you don’t even know your on a dirt road anymore. Once again Chrysler has built the best.
Best truck- Ram 3500 high output and now adding the Best luxurious SUV to their belt. If we can bring American cars to focus on small cars once again dreams can happen. For now the most reliable small cars (not fast lol) still belong to Toyota...
TFL - Please test the regular (not Grand) Wagoneer Series II with the Advanced All Terrain Group. It has 18" wheels along with skid plates and other goodies. I want to know how it performs off road.
Seriously - all of the auto channels are all over the Grand, but I want to see the normal Wagoneer that only costs an arm and a leg, not the Grand that demands your firstborn. :P
@@TonyYarusso Because $76k is within grasp of my wallet's t-rex arms.
@@TonyYarusso for sure. I think it is because Jeep is only providing them Grand Wagoneers as part of their press fleet that they let everyone borrow. It may take them getting one from a dealer, a private owner or them purchasing one.
I did a video on the regular Wagoneer.
Wagoneer series II with the offroad package will be my next Jeep. The 5.7 with the e-torque will be hard to beat. I just wish it had the removable bumper like the wk2.
The 6.4 liter looks so small in the Grand Wagoneer, yet another testament to its monstrous size. I like it.
I’d like to see an 80’s Grand Wagoneer vs the new one doing off road maneuvers…
Yeah yeah yeah
Add me as another one that would like to see that.
Make it happen TFL. Grand Wagoneer: Old School vs New School.
That's would be AWESOME
It wouldn’t be able to get through 1/3 of the course lol
@@MS-mr4zm lolwut
That gloss black for all the offroad controls is going to look horrible in a few months. Why is this still a thing?
Because LuXuRy, LOL
Because this is not an off-road vehical it's a street queen, shopping mall parking lot pig take the kids to soccer practice kinda thing. A real ass hat would be the one to take a 100k plus vehical to get trashed up off road and then there is the other end of the spectrum as stated above lol.
OMG the Grand Wagoneer is a technological and luxury marvel!!!
Loving the GC Trailhawk series! Would be great to put some real off road tires on it and see what it can really do.
Yes, and I’m excited to see it compared to the new one
I have the 25 year ago version, a jeep grand cherokee orvis edition v8. With a small lift you are essentially unstoppable.
I drove mine from the dealer to discount tire and had a set of nitto terra grapplers put on. Best decision I ever made.
I’m glad they figured out how to hide the exhaust from being the lowest point under the wagoneer
Nice review, you two. Very nice indeed! Jeep is now making an extremely interesting line(s) of different, yet amazing vehicles! Thanks for this off-road test!
Loving the flurry of Jeep Grand Cherokee content you guys have been pushing out lately. As a Grand Cherokee owner I'm loving it and it makes me miss my 02 WJ Overland like crazy.

Andre, Nathan, excellent video! The two of you are the best presenters and your interaction is very enjoyable. Love the Grand Waggoneer!
Nathan, you should use Hill Descent more as the system allows individual wheel braking, whereas when you don’t use it and brake yourself, all wheels are braked - You can’t control individual wheel braking whereas Hill Descent can. Thus you have so much more downhill control using HDC.
Please do the Grand Wagoneer vs Range Rover.
That's a beautiful ride right there. Can't wait to see how it does against the competition.
Great video Happy New Year to all at TFL
I agree with many commenters here where I would put Goodyear Duratracs on either and/or BOTH of these vehicles. In about 5 to 7 years when the first long-term lease returns come out and you can buy the Jeep Grand Wagoneer used for around $40,000 to $50,000 USD, I would get my local 4x4 upgrade shop to put a 4 inch lift on the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and add either the Duratracs OR the Nitto EXO Grapplers on them and add the full underbody skid plates and a thick full Line-X underbody coat for extra rust/corrosion protection.
AND YES! I would add both a heavy duty bumper WITH full-width frontal bush bar AND 16,000 lbs winch AND a rear bumper with winch and bush bar. To feed that monster 6.4 litre V8 on long offroad trips, the rear bumper setup would have a swiveling tube cage with room for two 20 Gallon Jerry Cans for twice the driving range. In a few years, this Grand Wagoneer is going to be an AMAZING luxury 4x4 off-road monster that you don't have to worry about dents and scratches. It will be an AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE off-roader when properly modded!
I'm in the Metro Vancouver, Canada area where there are some really GNARLY off-road terrain within 50 km (30 miles) of us and I have seen MANY older Lincoln Navigators, Cadillac Escalades and Range Rovers with 4 inch and even 6 inch lifts and big and beefy 35 inch off-road M/T tires and even added fender flares. 35's don't normally fit without a wheel well cut-out but 32's certainly do without too much modding.
V
Awesome content!
Thank you TFL team ;)
The 2021 uses the Mercedes M platform with aluminum control arms. It seems to work very well. The Wagoneer uses a truck platform with steel independent suspension. It works very well too. I wonder if steel is used solely for cost reduction, or if there is an engineering advantage. Living in the rust belt I have experienced trucks and cars with only a ten year life span before they rust out. Cars and trucks using more corrosion resistant materials and better rust proofing materials do much better. I am curious how the new Stellantis vehicles will hold up.
Hey Andre, when Nathan laughs at you, it means he's just envious that your 4.5" taller than him.
I took my 2015 GC WK2 ECO on Corona Pass last summer and totally know what you're talk about in regards to the air suspension. I ran full height with K02's and wondered as we were bouncing around if I should air down?
Hey Nathan and Andre @tfl off road I would live to see the grand wagoneer versus the Yukon at4 versus Lincoln navigator versus Cadillac escalade and put them up into a head to head battle and let's see pound for pound which one gets you more bang for the buck. But I would easily say that the grand wagoneer is a Maybach in regular clothes or very close to it!
Hey guys HAPPY New Year are you going to do a real world MPG loop on your jeep grand Cherokee trailhawk.Im interested in the truck and yours has the Hemi 5.7 and don't see many reviews on the trk with that engine.
Thanx for all your great 411 with your videos.👍
Awesome video guys. Andre and Nathan videos are always great. GW is a BEAST.
Wagoneer certainly didn't disappoint actually very impressive arguably the best vehicle for larger families that can afford it I'd take it over any range Rover currently available
Idk man the land cruiser and sequoia both crushed the same course.
Honestly I eyeballed this and the Suburban and we ended up with the Z71 Suburban...looking back I honestly wish we'd spent a little more for the Wagoneer.
@@desertsavagery i just purchased a Wagoneer; its very impressive
The wagoneer is far from beautiful...
The Grand Wagoner you have there is an incredibly good looking one. The proportions, shape and style are just so right. And that burgundy and black are a very elegant color selection. I like it a lot.
Now, is this just a preproduction press car that is scheduled to be squished in six months or will it escape out into the wild and live a long and eventful life?
If I was a business man and own a ranch I do see myself driving that new super fancy wagoneer only reason I am an American and support American machines. The trailhawk that's if I was mid 20's just out of college with some passion for the outdoors. Reality I love the outdoors and I don't have a lot of money that's why I have a 2001 WJ limited that it's proven to be an amazing and super capable suv. Great video and both of those cars are really cool
McIntosh audio. Very nice. Great that they utilized a long established legendary Audio/Hifi manufacturer from the United States.
Can I just say that the elevator music while Andre goes though the settings on the screens is a nice touch. I don’t know why but it made me smile. Nice Jeeps (no matter what Stellantis calls the GW)!
This will be the only GW that will ever see dirt…..ever…..other than attending a jazz festival.
Will the ram 2500 get that updated power from the 6.4????
That tire comes on some new ram 1500s as well. Just saw one yesterday. Also, it would ride so much better with 18in.
Cant wait to see Grand Wagoneer vs LX600 off-road test!
Loved the elevator music André
was playing when going over the Grand Wagoner.
Happy new year Nathan and Andre.
Frankly I’m amazed that the Big Jeep did as well as it did on that trail! Bravo 🙌!
If you purchase the Wagoneer with advanced 4x4 package (18” wheels)…is it possible to add larger more aggressive tires without mods to the truck?
I own a 2021 GC Trailhawk with a Hemi. Does a lot well for the money.
Did you guys ever test the Infiniti QX80 with the hydraulic stabilization system? I dont know if they still offer it or not. But it keeps the vehicle from leaning on turns so I imagine it keeps all the tires on the ground.
Got an idea for you guys. Take one of the vehicles that shows pitch and roll and use it to track the angles of your frequently used trails. That way when you get the "that's not even steep" crowd in here, you can post the angles you are working with on the screen.
GW vs GC L would have been awesome as both are more closer than the regular GC.
Can’t wait to see what you do with the WK2
I would love to see more videos on the WJ
Hi Guys love your info just drove a stock Grand Wagoneer through Bunce School Road
Beautiful thing that grand wagoneer. Too many electronic things to break though. Not for me. For trails, off roading , snowy, muddy terrain I would rather have a reliable, sturdy tin can so I wouldn’t have to worry about paint scratches, dents etc.
So neither of these?
I don't know about the electronic breakage part, I have a 2011 GC, and a 2010 Ram 1500, both loaded, replace brake pads and do the services. Ram key fobs, are a wearable item. Gone through two of them so far. Other than that, they have been as stable as an anvil.
Best wishes from the far North.
@@carlthor91 Did you replace the battery? Easy to do. Check owner manual.
@@kristen4897 Fob batteries replaced annually. The Fobs start giving spurious signals, windows, both front roll down.
Have one remote left, will get a new one in February.
Or not even work when you drive off the lot.
Yeah the gizmos didn't get enough testing.
And 3.92 axle ratio needs to go.
3.55 perhaps?
Love the trailhawk.
I don't know why they didn't call it the Canyoneero.
I like KO2 tires what alternatives were you referring too
I hope FCA offers it with the Ecodiesel later on, since GM offers the Duramax in the Escalade, Tahoe and Yukon.
That would be awesome!
And an SRT version, too. Just for fun.
@@matthewgeissinger2856 hell yeah!! 👍
Not FCA anymore....
@@LawF250 yeah I just recently found that out. Lol
I for one LOVE the fact that the Grand Wagoneer is totally a JEEP product. In my book that's a good thing...a very good thing. Great video guys!!!
It stopped being a Jeep when it stopped being a Jeep.
What are this trails called and where in Colorado is this?
The WK2 trail hawk is very capable....drove all thru the San Juan mountains in CO.
You did? Wowzers!
Need the ecodiesel on both of these models!!!!
Nice rides! But personally I'm always keeping my eye out for another 01 Jeep Cherokee.
I would rather have the GW without all the off road features because no way would I take it on anything real off road. Just have it do well in the snow.
I have a GC and have taken it on several rough roads but never off road, besides something like parking in a field etc. I use my other Jeep for the off road stuff.
Why not use your grand Cherokee for the off road things? It must be the newest ?
Lol funny you mention the bolt pattern but the Cadillac XT5 is a 6 lug set up surprisingly
So does my minivan.
Is the GW worth the money and is the quality of the materials up to par with it's competitors?
For a SUV that costs 90k +.... the spare tire could have a matching rim as the other four rims on the vehicle. Was surprised to see a steel rim for the spare.
I saw my first Grand Wagoneer in person today
Why doesn’t the Trailhawk have the standard Goodyear Wranglers adventure Kevlar AT’s on it?
Can't believe you guys took them nice brand new jeeps off-roading on highway radials:-)
Why add aftermarket highway tires to the GC and then test it off-road on in the snow? Is this supposed to be an improvement.
How many watts is the stereo???
You are working together very well
What happened to the GC Trailhawk?
Cool glovebox just like the classic one !!
$91,000 vs $51,000? Hmm… guessing the 2021 would make more sense.
Looking forward to the all new GC 2 row trailhawk
8:21
For a second there I thought the front driver side wheel was bent inward!!! LOLOL
I.have a 2021 Grand Cherokee love it
Grand Wagoneer is an impressive vehicle... its performance for such large SUV quite stunning !
Yup, it's a Jeep for sure. Marketing can be a funny thing, but it's for sure a Jeep in every way.
What is this trail called?
Id like to see one of these with the 3.92 rear offroad package with 18” wheels
These videos are so funny… Andre always seems so stressed off road lol.
They have come along ways in resolving some of the issues the Grand Cherokee had around 2015. These are really the best dual purposed SUVs on the market for money
What were the issues? I had a 2015 Overland that I bought brand new and had no issues. I only sold it because I upgraded to a 2020 RAM 2500.
Andre; My suspension settings, my gauges, my rear tire, my this, my that , my voice, my ego.... And besides he droves the newest vehicle, he gaves Nathan instructions about the settings on his vehicle 😂😂😂 Jokes aside, Happy New Years guys. I wish i have a job likes yours!
That wagoneer is so spacious and open compared to the grand Cherokee
Watching this in my 97 landcruise with 400,000 miles that I daily drive. Wishing I can get the new 300 landcruise with the new v6 diesel.
I know Jeep Cherokee owners with double your miles and still going with same motor.
Good luck with the recall’s.
My 2015 Cherokee Trailhawk is going fine.
I go to the Navajo Nation and it has mostly bad dirt roads with terrible clay. When it rains it turns to mush and the Trailhawk eats it up.
Love it guys these videos fit my demographic me and Nathan and Andre good very good 👍
Jeep needs to add the all terrain package to the grand wagoneer, and also some sort of rear wheel steering for a vehicle that long (especially the extended length).
I wonder will wagoneer or grand wagoneer be use in a police cruiser
if u are stuck in an articulated position and u need to get out of the vehicle, will the side steps deploy and wreck the whole step?????
You can turn the steps off. If I'm not mistaken, I believe they're off when in 4Lo automatically.
TfL should try this.simple things like these,we tend to forget and make a massive dent in our pockets!!
Cool! The grand wagoner would look good lifted on a set of 37s.. Also I never understood why you would use a braking system like hill decent when you have a low range gearbox. Just put it in 1st and let the engine do the braking..
Lol a grand wagoneer on 37”s would look sick but would be in dire need of hellcat power! I’ll tell ya what would be the most ridiculous of modern SUVs….how bout a Cadillac Escalade-V w/ 6” lift on 37”s & swampers!?😂🤣😂🤣
@@MS-mr4zm it’s gonna need some straight axles first 😂
Both beautiful and worth the money
I love my ‘17 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which I like a lot, the Wagoneer, is so unique and styling that is unique, people will turn their heads, I would too
Beautiful luxury in the grand wagoner.
Here's a thought, if you had to open the door on the Wagoneer, but you had very low clearance, would the retractable running boards be damaged in the process.? Or can they be manually turned off.
they open automatically, but if they encounter an obstruction, reverse and close. don't take much force either. i love my grand series 3. best and most comfortable vehicle i have ever been in.
Glad they brought it back and made it at least decent off-road.
Now can they bring back the Comanche?
A Comanche would be cool but I figure they won't want to compete with their current gladiator. Also they could possibly ruin it and base it off the current cherokee. Slap a 2 foot bed on a little crossover. Like a Subaru Baja.
Not sure where you guys are but know your close to Boulder stay safe friends.
Nice, but these new button drive vehicles just don't do it for me. I thought the 5 position shifter in my 04 Grand Cherokee was too much, lol.
6-8 inches... cute my macan gets like 2 feet off the gound hehe!
The Waggoner is gorgeous from the front, the side and rear are not quite ugly, but close.
4 Door Bronco BADLANDS w/Sasquatch pkg GVWR 6,150 lbs approx
This should have been branded a Chrysler if the old style guide was followed. Luxury, power… hiding “jeep” the best they could because jeeps are perceived to be “rugged but uncomfortable”. I sense a bit of an identity crisis with the branding but the vehicle is remarkable and tech heavy. That 6.4 is a monster and we just need to see some sweet donuts guys
Stellantis has several reasons to hide the fact that it is a Jeep.
Firstly, it would be very difficult to launch a luxury vehicle under a non-luxury brand. Having said that, the luxury-non luxury lines keep getting blurred more and more with each passing day.
Secondly, Jeep dealers do not provide the level of customer service luxury buyers expect. This has the potential to be a thorn on the side among those willing to spend $100,000+ on an SUV
09:17 Anyone else noticed the misaligned trunk with the lights?
Impressive! Do you think Jeep will share this platform back with Ram for a new Ramcharger? That would be awesome!!
I love how excited Andrea gets about these trucks lol
