I've stopped worrying about being "more interesting" to other people. Life is too short! It comes naturally by focusing on self-improvement using the techniques you've mentioned!! For example, based on your points:
    1. Putting the phone away
    2. Embracing new experiences
    3. Learning something new (language, instrument etc)
    4. Backing yourself, being self-confident with your decisions
    5. Sharing stories with a stranger, and trying to empathise with them
    6. Just being unapologetically yourself and not forcing it
I've been trying to put these into practice - it's hard but we gotta keep improving ourselves ✌️💪🔥

What kind of music do you like? Those people that asks us about our interests are often the ones we remember as being the most interesting. So, are individuals innately interesting or is it their actions that we find interesting? To be honest a lot of people are struggling with the exact same issues, so it can be hard to find people who are both in the same stage of their journey engaging with an open mindset but ALSO actively seeking connection, which is what allows you to break through to people.
Also the fact that even people who have started on this journey may still be in the preliminary stages and thus struggle with opening up, or they're anxious and don't knoow what to say or how to say it, or they're in the 'improvement' stage where they're doing self-work to become a person that they feel is worth being around, etc. Which can make it difficult to connect, since they're focused on what they view as the goal (improving themselves to be more interesting) rather than the process (which is being open and connecting - this is what really helps with improvement on a human-to-human level) and that precludes them from getting off the ground in conversation at that particular point in time.
It's hard for me to know how to break through this, but sometimes you have to risk looking like a total idiot to get people to open up. That could mean anything from trying to start a meta conversation and hoping the person is perceptive/open enough to recognize what it is that you're looking for to just putting yourself in environments where there's a higher likelihood to run into people who are willing and able to connect with you personally.

God given talents are what makes people interesting. And if you are able to hone or multiply your gifts, the more interesting you become. When one person can paint, play an instrument, sing, write a book all in one, that's a person of interest basically

Because when a person is passionate on something they glow and they are usually so excited which leads to openess and joy. It can be something small like gardening, cleaning, reading, painting, building, training, career dreams, job, bugs etc. ^^

I love these points on what constitutes being interesting, especially someone simply being present. I've been trying to articulate that myself for a couple of years and have come up short, but this really helps put a point on how it felt to me. I kept describing it as someone being either in the front or back of their head, like they're right at the windows looking out or they're off in the background and just sometimes visible. It can feel like you hardly see a person even when you're talking directly to them. The way you described it is wonderful, thanks so much for that!

Often, we see ourselves as 'boring' and 'uninteresting' whereas perceive others as 'fun' and 'intriguing'. But what we don't realise we, as humans, are characterised by both of those traits. You are more interesting *than you think* so don't worry, just be yourself! 👌🏻

If people could see all that we've each been through and experienced in life, no one would find you uninteresting, because to do so would imply that they themselves were not interesting. When people around you don't find you interesting, that is a sign that you need to surround yourself with new people; you don't need to change yourself to become more interesting. Live your life the way you enjoy it, not in a way that pleases others.

I’m not very good at expression but this video has really helped me, second week of my freshman yr right now. I could say my first week sucked, social wise. I know it was only the first but I felt really lonely compared to everybody else. Even I’m in drum line, I still struggled to make friends with my bandmates. So before this Monday that passed by, I saw this video, let’s just say it gave m motivation to be more self confident, took like 2 days for this week to put that into reality. Right now, I’m finding myself getting closer with my bandmates and I feel so proud of myself right now, thank you.

You don't have to have social anxiety, it can be improved. I used to have it really bad and now I'm more apologetically myself.
How did I get over it? I changed my mindset. Some people think I'm an amazing person, and others find me boring, weird, even a bad person. How is it that there are so many different perceptions of me. Shouldn't everyone see me the same way?
No matter what, it will never be that way. Even if you find yourself to be boring, there are people who won't, so there's no point in being self-conscious about what people think. All that matters is that you shape yourself into a version of yourself you're satisfied with

Just wanna sum it up for myself:
    - Being present
    - Being open-minded
    - Knowing stuff
    - Having opinions of one's own
    - Telling story
    - Being authentic
Reflect on my own journey. It's truly right. I'm often drawn by people who can tell engaging stories about their life that are foreign for me and sometimes deeply hidden in their daily conversations. He (or she) will normally have a "radiant" face with a big smile on his face. He can make me feel comfy to get to share my weird story and be listened to. He is an experienced person with a lot of life experience and knowledge in many fields, you know, like a close but profound grandpa. And of course, he is a humorous person.
Thanks for the quality content. It makes my day!!!

The world is fast and so are people which sometimes feels irritating but I'm hopeful. I think being genuine inside out makes a person interesting. Anyways, I don't know why but your way of talking is so soothing that I love listening to you in a quiet room with a quiet head. Your views actually make sense.

I think, everyone could be Interesting, if everyone was just gonna quit the whole social media deal/thing/stuff where basically everyone tries to be the same one person or tries to be happy all the time, but that's just my opinion on it and this especially counts for younger people, I think they have such a great opportunity to be themselves and be interesting because let's face it your only interesting when you're yourself, I mean even if you're 20 no-one is going to judge you 10 years from now for being interesting or yourself

In our society, we tend to value "understanding" someone over "not understanding." However, in reality, it is always "more" about each one of us. Hence, no one is fully understood by anyone including one's own self. It is precisely this ultimate unknowability of each person that makes everyone interesting. No one is inescapably uninteresting. True understanding embraces and honors both understanding and not-understanding. This is, to me, a Buddhist concept of being in the present moment.

Curiosity, openness, play. Actually immersing in the experience of life here and now- in the REAL that is physical and social. A runaway mind that talks too much is not interesting, it's a barrier to connection. I noticed this after spending a year in a cult as someone who didn't believe in the ideology, so coexisting and side-stepping disagreements that would blow up and just be a waste of time. I noticed that so many people spent their days repeating the same phrases, mantras and endless rambles to each other. They sounded like identical drones. And I wondered what else they experienced, what they really wanted and what they had lost in life. I saw their unique humanity obscured by the noise, and on top of that, the coldness of ideology... a runaway mind.
Being here, physical, letting go. We begin to see differently and see what really lasts a long time.
