That dog barking analogy is so good "hey this may be a potential danger it's up to you to decide if it is or not". I think even just adopting this mindset of listening to what our fears are saying is powerful, we often suppress this so much yet just like the dog trying to be loyal are fears also have reason 💜

Still watching haha, but I felt the same - being scared of starting, worrying what other people might think, and feeling like I don't have the credibility to share the things I do. But overtime, the confidence came with the practice, and I'm hoping I keep on making improvements as time goes by. RUclipsrs like you and Ali Abdaal helped so much with helping me develop the confidence and to just go for it, so THANK YOU! And it makes us all so happy to see people like you doing so well on this platform! I hope anyone else trying to get somewhere on RUclips keeps it going and maintains consistency!!!

I have been thinking of starting a youtube channel since then, but not yet. some day, however, i will. and i will say that Lana made me go for this dream & i love her even though she doesn’t know how much of an older sister role she played in my life!

A 22:46 long video that is full of wisdom. Anyone here who watches or watched this video, we have found the right answer for every questions that have always been playing in our heads. Lana herself is a living answer that what made her become for who and where she is now, is from the old Lana 3-4 years ago. I can still remember and you can watch her old vlogs too, we can see clearly how she improves her skills in talking in front of the camera now just like she's just having a casual conversation with a friend. What I want to say is that, if we never start now then we'll never get that answer. If we keep on doubting our self, then answer might always been a "No." But if we try to start and keep moving forward even if that's a little step forward, that answer might change into a "Yes." (Yes, you can do it.)

Congratulations, Lana. You are an inspiration. Creating content on RUclips can indeed be scary. I too felt that way. But then, as you have shared, I tried to examine where my fear stems from. And it's mostly from the fear of criticism. I want to share three things that helped me started.
    (1) Know the motivation behind your aspiration. In my case, I want to create content because it allows me to grow, be creative, and learn new things. Writing down my thoughts and then speaking them helps me have more clarity over my thoughts and emotions. I find it helpful for self-discovery and growth. Reminding myself of my purpose or reason keeps me going.
    (2) Stop waiting for a perfect time to get started. What stopped me from starting was that I do not have a camera, a microphone, and a quiet place to record my videos. But then I started anyway. I am still using my android phone and there is still noise from the vehicles and kids playing outside. While I'm still dreaming of having a camera and a microphone, I do my best with what I have at the moment. Nothing is perfect, and it's okay. Just keep going and practicing.
    (3) It's okay to receive various reactions. Even the videos of those inspiring people don't always receive purely good reactions. And it's not because they are bad, sometimes it's just that their content is not the person's cup of tea. But this shouldn't stop us from doing what we love and becoming the person we have always envisioned.
To be honest, putting myself out there still scares me, and probably in the future. But I remind myself of my core, my reason for doing what I do. Wishing you the best things in life ❤️

Really enjoyed the video. Many good points. I liked how you answered the question of being a RUclipsr vs a 9 to 5 job. I write novels and I can relate to the creative endeavor that consumes much of what you do. You are never off the clock. Sensory inputs that can feed into your creative process are all around 24-7. Self-discipline is important. Something I am still learning. As for starting something new (especially something creative), one thing to keep in mind is not to get wrapped around the axel of perfection. Getting good at something, even being able to do it, is a journey. Take the first step, then another, etc...
