Put a new water pump in my 93 Mariner 40 today , Just wanted to sat Thanks for the videos, Helped alot.THANKS
Ive got a 85 big red 250es that has the exact same final drive, this video absolutely helped me get mine rebuilt.
My free honda trx 300 fw is in poor condition thank you for the videos saved me a lot of hit and miss thank again
Great Job. I really like to see you do stuff like this, The Explanations are Exceptional.
Great Video D-ray. Have done lots of 300 final drives. I found that if you work the spring clip around to an open end you can hook it and pull it right out. Then I use an inside bearing puller with slide hammer. Heat case a little with propane. Pinion bearing will come right out. On installing new pinion bear I never reinstall the spring wire. There is no need too as the inside nut will keep it all together. On a final note, I sometime use a speedy sleeve on the crown gear were the seals run because they are usually well grooved and over time will let water back in. Was a very poor design in my opinion from Honda. Keep up the good work.
I just did both my Honda 420s. I was able to remove the pinion pilot bearing retainer as well through the hole. then use a expandible bearing slide hammer to remove the bearing. I opted not to reinstall the bearing without that bastard wire lock, its a tight fit anyway! Hope this helps!
Awesome information and technique on this project ! It will help me on my atv.
Great video series thanks so much! really helped with my final drive rebuild. Turned out perfect. but did take some time. Thanks again!

Would you happen to know if the rear axle bearings are the same size as the front?
I’ve done it twice now without drilling a hole you need a really long and skinny skinny drift punch
Hey your tool was a good idea, i suppose if it was a more regular job you could get a bigger diameter bolt and file the end to fit the ark of the bearing outer.
Full contact between the end of the bolt and locking ring may make it a bit easyer :-)
work clip around -find end - hook up - pull with pliers

HI, It's me again. thanks for your video's. I am working on my '96 honda 300 as we speak and I have the 2 bearings & seals for the case, but UNFORTUNATELY it turns out its my pinion bearing. (my luck) Just wondering if u may know the # or the dimensions for the pinion bearing I need? I am learning alot from you & just wanna say Thank You So Much!
Special tools? We don't need no special tools! We make 'em ourself!
I normally take a carbide bur and cut the race in 2 and the pieces fall out.
Gadsden Viper your suggestion was a life saver great tip!
i have a 95 honda 300 it runs but cant get it to pull , ive put new clutches all new rear end parts pinion gear and u_joint but cant get the shaft insicde the motor block the one that turns the drive line to turn and i dont whats wrong wth it im not that of a mechanic ..asking for some pointers on mite wrong wth it ,,,,thx
I'm doin a rebuild on a 85 big red that little bearing on mine there is not hole it's got a circle but no hole where Iyou can see a circlip do I need to drill a hole down to a circlip or is there one on this year?
5 mins into this video it talks about it
whats the price on a job like this
and where are the left over parts
What does final drive mean
never showed how to remove pinion gear with needle bearings
You have an atv shop with no welder wtf sucks not having tools you need
Ruined that differential case...
