    I reckon I am a decent mechanic, that said, for the first time doing a repair I want to read the repair manual, or nowadays search the internet for a write up or video. A friend wants to do his diff on a 300 so here I am. Pleasure to see a mechanic go the extra mile, instead of save a few minutes here and there. You are a very tidy fella. Your local customers are lucky to have you. Thanks for the detailed how to. Class!

    great video D-ray. Your videos are always easy to follow and very informative. I have a old 1985 Honda Big Red 250 ES and always watch your videos.They dont make em anymore like the old Big Red or Four Trexs, those old bikes were dang near indestructible tanks....lol.

    • @zzz7zzz9
      @zzz7zzz9 6 лет назад

      you got that right. we bought our big red new in '86. that bike did everything. dad built a plow for it for the driveway even. it pulled moose out of the bush, everything we ever asked it to do. dad modified our hunting trailer so the rear opened right up and we could load the bike in. he reconfigured all the seating so it could fit then be placed back when the bike was out. this was years ago, way before they actually made camper-trailers with the loading-ramp rears on them. we used to leave the trailer in our spot we would choose for the hunting season. it would be between where we each lived, so that we each would have about an hour or two drive to camp. and we'd be out every weekend. never, ever had any problems. but then one year, the trailer disappeared, and with it, that cherished old big red.

    Hello D-Ray. Hey I have subscribed to your videos and liked all the ones I've seen. I've learned a great deal from you and I thank you. I was wondering if you could just take a second and answer a question I have regarding the main jet bonnet. During a recent carb rebuild, I discovered my carb did not have a bonnet and I would like to know how necessary they are to the carburation process. What is affected if you don't have one? I've cleaned this carb back to shiny and clean and clear and she still seems to be finicky with idling and starting. Revs are great, power is there, but even after a ride or two around the block, if she quits, she fights me to start back up. I have the mixture screw set back to the factory setting of 1.75 turns from light seat. I've taken the carb off again just to confirm nothing is blocked and it wasn't. Could the lack of the bonnet be affecting this? Thank you in advance.

    Help PLEASE!!!
    I ordered the kit. Got it apart and ended up needing a new gear set.
    While awaiting gears the work bench was cleaned by someone else and the spacer shims for ring gear were thrown in trash apparently. There are 20 different options for thickness. Where do you think I should start? In your experience is there a regular OE combination I should order first to start with?
