Been wanting to check my backlash, this is the closest video I can get to get an understanding of what to look for, service manual is coming in clutch right now
I keep a toaster oven in my shop. Bake cases at 350 for 15 mins and bearings usually drop in. Heat bearing and the slide on, like the pinion gear. Always keep some tools nearby to "drive it home" of necessary. Also, a bit of water based wire lubricant on the outer rim of the seals helps them to slide in and it evaporates. Great tip on the box tubing tool!!
Where you heated the rear end case I was taught to put the bearings in the cooler or refrigerator for a while to shrink it where as you heated the rear to expand it
I no right i broke 2 wich my housings is not in best shape. Last one i did some of the clip broke out and sone stayed in. We going to try it. In process now putting back together
Been contemplating this fix for a while because I seem to have develop a leak at my rear output shaft (hopefully from the diff side) and may want to rebuild diff while at it. In any case to remove that bearing a old millwright trick you can use is small scrap of linen covered in thick grease. Put those scrap in the bearing ID hole and use a press with a blank peice of round stock as close to the id hole size as possible. The grease will work itself under the bearing slowly push it out. Keep adding linen with grease until its out. If you want to go full redneck bread can also work. ( great trick for getting beer cases from friends with bearing issues) Now for driving it home I would avoid differential heating and would go the oven route if possible. There also pdf version of a Honda repair manual floating online for these bike in that you can get the size of the bearing pushing pressing tools you need. Then if you have access to lathe or machinist friend you can make you own. These are better and safer. I made my pushed with a small pilot hole so that they can all be used with an extension that i made ( can also be used with a hammer if in an emergency) If they are machined properly they should pilot onto the bearing and only push on the outer race of the bearing( never press the inner race of a bearing unless you want to pre fuck it and replace it often).. Apologies for long winded awnser
Question about the zerk fitting. Are you going to absolutely FILL it with grease after you put the gear oil in? Like a bushing? you mentioned that you were going to fill the case with grease, but you also mentioned about making a slurry.
@@PowerModzOfficial interesting. Obviously speed is not an issue, but getting up 10, 12, 15mph.. how much resistance will that be? as things warm up and expand, as it goes up to the vent tube, will it introduce air and froth?
Question. I just inherited a 95 300 and its front wheel drive lol. I'm wanting to fix the rear end but I dont hear any grinding or clunking of gears. What would you do?

Great tip!
Currently doing my 2001 foreman 450 rear end thanks for the vid👍👍 very helpful
Doing the piston rings and head too 😂
Get that indy lite going! And we wanna see the XLT
Thanks for the info and your time.
I think you need a work bench my friend!
Red lock tight instead of staking bearing nut. Use Threebond instead of silicone.

yes we did that - youll see in other vids
He did both.
I must've missed those somehow. Thank y'all both for heads upping me
How did u get original pinion needle bering out
Bom dia amigo
Qual ferramenta para trocar o rolamento do pinhão parece uma porca estrela. Sabe dizer o nome dessa ferramenta por gentileza
How has the rear differential been for you with the grease in it?
No differential in quads, didn't know that.
Whats the trick to getting that internal C clip in on the needle bearing for the pinion

Buen video señor thanks
Where can I get a ring and pinion for a 85 fourtrax 250?
lets work on sleds, season fast approaching, maybe leak down tests
If you ever need to replace the swing arm bearings on your TRX 300 make a video on that.
Why not start from the beginning?
Whoops should. Only use brass hammers , colledge. Classes 101
Hope none just watch this and start. I've seen others about the needle bearing removal on a Foreman 😂
Do you have a video of you taking out the pinion needle bearing?
I dont think so sorry

I put some gear Lube in and then topped it with grease - I wanted to make sure the gear lube hit all the bearings.

Do you still have this issue? I'm guessing not
@@ildxnnyli5541 yes. I havent fixed it or driven it since.
@@imurk9034 want me to help you?
0:54 how did u get that pilot bearing out originally?!
His last video he did the same exact thing with a torch and it fell out.
What type grease did u put in rear diff and would you put in front diff as well
Buy a Haynes manual they tell you everything

Hola cómo estás necesito una de esas
A crown wheel and pinion is not a differential.
