I have a kymco 500i and when you start the starter grinds and sometimes starter just spins what would that be and what should I check?

What about that little ball bearing that fell out in the very beginning? You just ignored that? It fell out of mine when I first cracked it open also ... where does it go?

I have electric start with kick-start,
I start my bike with the Kick Starter
98% of the time, what components if any,
(aside from the obvious; start-motor solenoid, and battery),
am I saving wear on?

Hi if you only had a quart of oil in the quad n only run quad for 1 minute. Can that have damage engine or not.

Whats wrong when you have no neutral light and the electric start wont work on a 1991 honda trx 300. I have to start it with a screwdriver by touchin both heads of the solenoid

I have an 86 4trx 350 and it clicks, I tried tapping the starter and nothing, it doesn't help the exhaust is kinda blocking everything, is there a possibility that brushes are just completely stuck?

ok but what if your bike will start but not turn off? as when you turn the key off or hit the kill switch it sounds like its trying to start the engine,and the starter is getting very hot.

Lucky the carbon brushes didnt make a mess of the comms.
So its out with the 1000 grade sand paper to make those commutators sparkling :-D.
Ive had to use the wrong sized brushes in the past, sandpaper shapes them to fit :-D.

D-Ray So that starter doesn't have a bedix gear like a car, does that mean that the starter turns full time along with the motor?
