the best need for speed that came out, cant wait to show my son this when he is older
I remember coming home from elementary school and playing until my mother had to threaten to ground me from it. My friends and I beat it but stayed up until 4:30 am. This game is hands down my favorite amongst the MANY great racing games out there and other games in different genres, so many customizable items, a good bunch of cars, good graphics for its time, fun racing modes, good story. Man this was the shit!
I first played it with my dad when I was like 5. Now I'm 16 and still love the game.

I didn't even own the game at first it was my older brothers if I was lucky I could vs him lool .. and then the new consoles came out so his old console got passed down to me ..... Your right the customization in the game is epic.. and actually fun to play

UPDATE FOR ANYONE WATCHING IN NOVEMBER 2023: the graphics mod pack is broken currently. the creator will upload 1.4 at some point in the future.

I run the game on 240hz, 240fps, multiple cores, on 1080p and for some reason I’ve never had a single crash, and my game runs FLAWLESS. Best experience I’ve had in while on a video game. Love love love it

Thanks for the links! I just started replaying this game with a racing wheel for the first time ever, and it is amazing. Casually cruising the city before getting into an intense outrun race feel so rewarding. And the feeling of speed in first person view is pretty good as well. Shame it doesn't support H-shifters though.

Can you play in cockpit/hood cam? Or is chase cam the only option?

You should do this with nfsu, nfsmw 2005, and nfsc. I really liked this.

No mention of the Olympic Imports mod? It adds all cut cars from UG1 and the NSX without replacing any of the in game cars. It’s essential.

I'm surprised no one has made a video about the essential mods before. It seems so obvious as I see countless videos from RUclipsrs on this game and therefore tons of questions on Reddit of how this game is playable today. Some didn't even know the game had a PC version.

For those who are having trouble with the left stick going all the way upwards, just set the Left Stick Deadzone to 0 and it might be fixed. It worked for me,

my problem is the d pad steers the car and i cant go into races or stores also i cant even press pause it does nothing im on ps5 controller
@@d3ViAnt6 yeah. The newer the technology of the controller the harder is make it work properly. If you have a ps3 controller or similar, try it, you probably won't have more problems.

The best memories and no sadness in PlayStation 2. When I played the missions, the game stopped and I was very sad because I loved that game, and now I bought a PC and carried it and played with it. Happy

yeah for sure, NFSU2's world was so well stylised and the cars were so detailed, that even the vanilla game all these years later looks gorgeous and distinct

@@A_Finley94x Ok I was making a dumb mistake where I got the nfsu1 fix instead, even though I've opened the correct links (I've done this multiple times before).
@@katzarkul I realise this is a year late but the graphics mod was most likely breaking your game, the author of the mod updated the link description and said a windows 10/11 update broke it.

The only thing the NFSU2 needs is a good "MOTION BLUR" to get this kind of realism. The PS2 version has the best blur shader, compare it!

I'm gonna add the NFS Most Wanted soundtrack using that music importer.
3:00 *UPDATE:* Newest Widescreen patch fixed the fps drop issues and improved CPU utilization.
*Original comment:*
"That feature won't ensure 60fps on older multi core CPUs (if you have the HD reflections mod installed with all enhancements enabled) but will prevent crashing.
HD reflections adds missing reflections which requires more CPU power (a single core of an old multithreaded CPU can't provide enough power to maintain a solid 60fps with the enhancements enabled).
Thankfully, the game's excessive lighting makes high quality reflections almost impossible to notice, so the extra enhancements aren't worth the fps drop."

Yea, everything is fine and dandy, until:
1- the texmod shortcut 3 out of times that it opens, it misses what's supposed to do, than closes on it's own
2- The visual reputation remover gets in conflict with the widescreen fix, so I uninstalled it

All of those are great but you should have mentioned the sound mod which makes cars sound more realistic

There is no Texmod folder in the Graphics mod.. I do have a folder saying SPEED2 but when I try to open that it says 'Please install Disc 2'

Hoping they don't remake it and change all the drive physics, soundtrack, mods etc. I want the exact same game with a few minor quality of life improvements and the exact same soundtrack just fresh graphics.
By now the licences for the soundtrack must've expired, so don't expect them to shell out good money for fresh licenses for a remaster.

I added the game to my steam library, then there is a controller remap thingy and worked my way into it. Just look up a tutorial.

Saddly, this game is underrated, same has Carbon, dont had good car mods for remplace
For example, an actual TRD Supra or a modern GT-R R34, RX-7 Rocket bunny, etc
Also no one make an Rims pack like in NFS Heat
And dont had a Spoiler pack
This game need more love
For the new generation yes it is underrated because they started with all the crap that Criterion made including nfs 2015. You need to go back to the roots and start from there.

Could you do a same primer guide like this but for NSF Most Wanted 2005 too? The one that improves/fixes gameplay and graphic but still retain the near vanilla experience. There are just too many mods for NSFMW.

From what I've done, yes you would have to otherwise the texmod graphics n visuals won't be loaded up when you run the game

Did you have problems with the headlight not appearing on the car but the road is lit up?
I noticed when using the camera to look back and customising the light colour in the garage.
Everything else was perfect.
The wide-screen fix worked like a charm. But I can't hear any music from the game itself. All the other sounds work.
Cool tutorial. As much as I have nostalgia for the Dragozool graphics mod, it's really outdated and unfaithful to the original. REDUX mod or Last Breath mod are much better choices.
Bro can you help me undo the dragozool texture my nfsu2 doenst open anymore it said to wait for 2-3 mins but 30 mins already passed
@@aralonzo6930 Run Texmod as admin. That's the only way to get the Dragozool mod (or any other mod) to work. If normal UG2 won't, then reinstall the game I guess.

This is amazing. I just can't get the controller to work. When I want to assign something it does not let me, it's like I enter it and then exit right away if that makes sense
Controller might be busted. A stick drift wasn't letting me fix it and also learned my Logitech has a sticky button so I can't play this with my wheel but I can other NFS titles😂😭

Game runs but there are a few issues. Wide screen fix completely kills my gamepad inputs. And this is the first time I'm playing the pc version of the game, so it feels a little off. Like the shifting feels weird and the car audio. I think it's better to emulate a PS2 version if you just want to play the vanilla game.
Doesn't work anymore. Attempting to open with the Texmod does nothing, and the Widescreen fix won't apply either. Tried multiple methods, using foobar, different cracks, patching manually, but to no avail.

Check the EXE file. If the date is not 03/08/2005 then its still the old one. You can simply google and download the 1.2 Update.

Widescreen fix wasn't working properly. It put cutscenes and hud into 1920x1080 but everything else was stretched
If you want to play the game with the graphics modpack, do you have to boot it from the Tex mod file each time?
Gamepad vs keyboard? What do you prefer? In NFS games ofc.
I can tell you from the experience I have in over-clocking, CPU 0 is your best bet, the higher you go the 'worst' it would get.
As the higher cores are not as stable as the lowest :)
That's a bunch of bullshit. The core numbering has nothing to do with the individual cores and their capability.
With AMD, you could use Ryzen Master to see which core boosts the highest (I don't know if Intel has something like that), and than just use that particular core.
The WidescreenFix seems to have broken controller inputs on my end. Controller worked fine without the mod but the screen would be stretched out, with it, widescreen looks fine, but the controller inputs are broken. It seems to spam up on the dpad with the mod on, or sometimes spam down. Thought it could be the Xbox controller I'm using, but it does that with any controller with the WidescreenFix mod in there.

idk why but for some reason the widescreen patch wont work it will change the res but not to my correct aspect ratio (1920x1080) I have it installed as shown in the video but even the other options in the .ini file fail too work idk why ive tried it on nfsmw2005 as well its version didnt work either is there something im missing?
