Hot pursuit 2 actually looks a bit better than what you see here, look at the stars of the pursuit level, they can barely be discerned, when you play the actual game looks much clearer.
It's a fantastic game but my favorite will always be NFS HP2 for PS2. That's the game that got me into NFS and the first NFS game I ever played and will always be my favorite.

Look at i.e NFS III - Hot Pursuit - it had already accelarated graphics - blurred textures, light effects and so on - I played it so I know - while in the movie it looks like totally ran without 3d graphics card on !! Also NFS II was accelerated if you had Monster 3dfx !

NFS Underground was such a revelation when my brother and I played it back when it came out - I was 10-11 years old, and it was the first time I played a racing game that seemed super realistic. It was also one of the first games I can remember where you could actually use a manual clutch, which was so much fun. I'd love to see a modern take on NFS underground!

Dude, '98-'03 was an insane period of growth! Games were improving SO much so FAST back then. Nowadays, it's only minor upgrades each year. We are definitely living in the tail end of the law of diminishing returns.

Amen! It really went downhill after Carbon even tho undercover was acceptable - shift was a flop - I remember like it was yesterday. Underground 2, Carbon and Most Wanted were so good. Story wise aswell. They werent perfect by far but they just hitted the spirit of the time. Farewell childhood.
NFS Porsche unleashed was the prettiest game of its time. Scenes with waterfall, mountains etc were so good that I stopped the car and stared at it with jaw dropped. Also cars were insanely good because they were exact replicas of the real ones.
My experience of this series is from 1999 High stakes to 2006s Carbon. Took a long break and recently started playing 2017s Payback and oh boy times have changed for this series.

I remember liking Porsche Unleashed because it was more realistic than the others, with old cars wobbling suspension in the corners or breaking/accelerating, activating turning indicators, etc. Then Undeground was fun and everything that came after it was the same, so I got over it and never played NFS again.

Im actually replaying NFS 2015 at the minute and its actually a solid game. Just wish their was police/car takedowns and it was a full fledged single player. If they can just follow that single night sort of storyline in their next game id love it
What are you talking about? Carbon was great. It's my first NFS game. I just started playing it once again, and I still think it's awesome. I like the story and the dark atmosphere that almost makes it look real. Although it still had some flaws, I don't consider it as the part where the franchise started going downhill.

I played Need For Speed Road & Track, Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit PC and Need For Speed High stakes for the PC and I was only 3 years old when I first played them. I did play NFS Rivals and still play NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered. But High Stakes is where it's at for me and still playing it!

From playing NFS 2 in the gaming cafes back in the day to owning NFS Heat in my high performance PC, I have grown up with this game.
NFS Most Wanted 2005 had the best enginuity and graphics. Everything about that game was just flawless. Still my favorite NFS so far ❤
It's a fantastic game but my favorite will always be NFS HP2 for PS2. That's the game that got me into NFS and the first NFS game I ever played and will always be my favorite.
