Listen. Unless a trans or Nonbinary person explicitly says 'you can use it/it's pronouns' (such as myself), DO NOT USE IT. it is a huge insult to the trans community. Yes I do use the pronoun but it's still dehumanizing in the wrong context. Please.
Also to add to that, if a trans person says they use all pronouns, it’s probably a good idea to ask before using it pronouns

@@snailmail972 yeah, I use he/they/she pronouns and am open to the idea of neopronouns but “it” just feels kinda weird/dehumanising to me (I’ll definitely use it/it’s pronouns to refer to people who specifically state that they’re happy with that though)

it's so interesting to see how people from other marginalized groups engage with bigots. like racism is such a stupid and absurd concept, what the hell kind of mental gymnastics you need to perform to justify being racist when you're an adult who can think thoughts in your head. and black people (and other poc) engage in conversations with those people! racism is still not considered absurd enough to be completely written out of the conversation, that is wild to me. i wonder if it feels the same for people, who watch us queer people engage in conversations with homophobes

As a nonbinary person who uses it/its, no-one ever uses 'it' to be inclusive to us. I personally use 'they' when talking about hypothetical people. However, the baby in question isn't hypothetical. That said, it's fine to use 'it' for a baby, that's normal, but it is very weird to then try to claim that using 'it' was secretly an act of solidarity with the nonbinary community and "totally not racist guys I promise!". Why do you need to justify it? It's just a tad suspicious.

I don’t know what you mean when you say “abhorrent actions of the government” and I seriously ask if you do know.
Most people that I’ve seen only talk about Israel as a debate point, they are against it to be on the good side.
And even so, making a grossed out face and saying “how can you be on Israel’s side” is not exactly criticism (and that’s mostly why I commented. It came from nowhere and took my by surprise) there are no sides.
I don’t know what you’ve heard or how you get your information about the situation here.
I’m assuming (and I might be wrong, so please do correct me) that you’ve never experienced the kind of threat that we’re under. The media constantly brushes it of as nothing to make us look like the big bad guy, while sometimes exaggerating our responses and actions.
I am not coming to you with complaints, I know there’s almost no material out there in English that gives the bigger picture, and a lot of people from abroad who say they’re “team Israel” (wich is a childish way to poot it from the beginning) are legit jerks who only say that to be provocative. I do however invite you to have a conversation. I might shed some light on things, give a different perspective. I’m an ex-solider and all, might even be worth the while.
And again, I really really do have good intentions. I’m willing to talk to anyone at this point. Here us out.

if you’re talking about israel & palestine and don’t know what i mean by “abhorrent actions of the government” i really don’t know where this conversation can go. i’m happy for you to share your experience but honestly i don’t really have the time or patience to have a conversation with someone that seems to not acknowledge that Israel’s treatment of palestinians is abhorrent.
the comment & face came from this racist woman being a supporter of israel. you can say there are no “sides”, while i agree that the issue is complex and sometimes “sides” can be reductive, i’m only playing the game that’s already been set. people see it as an issue with 2 broad positions (or sides) - one side stands with palestine and the other with israel. of course it’s far more complex than that - but simplifications for brevity are sometimes necessary. you can generally understand what someone means when they’re pro israel or pro palestine.

As I said before, I consume other media besides our own, that’s why I know l can contribute additional information that might shed a different light on the situation. Do you maybe think you’re a bit biased when you constantly surround by the same type of media?
I didn’t try to make excuses or ignore the things that are happening here when I asked what you mean by saying the abhorrent actions of the governmen, It must have been lost in translation. I tried to say that a lot of people (and especially online) use a similar phrase emptily, without knowing what they’re talking about, and I was genuinely asking what did you mean by that, I’m interested in what you’ve heard and I was trying to start a conversation somewhere, not to change you’re mind necessarily.
I get that hearing or considering a different perspective might be annoying or even slightly scary sometimes, and I have to respect you’re choice not to. If you ever do find the time or the patience within you to converse with someone like me the offer still stands, but I think I’m done commenting here for now.

yes - of course i’m going to have a bias based on the media i’m surrounded by. here in the uk there is both pro & anti israel media (the journalist in this video is literally pro israel). not exactly comparable to the propaganda within a state committing violence. if you told a russian that their media is likely biased against ukraine - it’d be kinda fucking insane for them to compare that to the media bias of another country.

i’ve heard a lot - near enough daily/weekly stories. recently there was the shooting of a journalist, a shooting in a school. i don’t particularly want to list all of the awful stories i’ve seen.
mate - if you’re going to be condescending, make sure you’ve read the message you’re responding to. i’m not annoyed or scared about hearing your perspective - i quite literally welcomed you to share it. what i don’t want to do is have a conversation, because it isn’t really worth my time. i’m preparing to go on tour in another country for 6 weeks, i have more pertinent things to deal with. don’t try to paint this as me not being open to hearing your viewpoint. you have the opportunity to share your experience. go for it, mate. i just do not have the time to have a back and forth about it. it’s not worth my time.
