I just bought a Kurzweil k2500r yesterday, not realizing that it doesn't have the sampling option included. Is it difficult to install? I'm going to buy the sampling option kit separately and try to do it myself.
Frequency Manipulator ok, cool. No soldering required? Could you recommend or direct me to any other good sources other than eBay for new and old parts? Also any other forums or authorized service dealers that i could send it to for help and advice that you know of. I want to focus on getting any and everything that i can to bring it up to date and perform at it's best. With all the cool features and upgrades.
Frequency Manipulator elemayo!🤣I'm in northern Virginia. It just arrived today, and I'm a little afraid to open the box. Had no clue it would be this huge! It weighs a ton. Guess I'll have some learning to do this weekend. I'm trying to find everything I can on the internet about this beast. I'll order the sampler option kit next week and study up on it.
Great programming!! I own a k2500r and wanted to get into sampling jungle breaks in it the way you are (also re where and how to store the samples and how to chop them if i want to use phrases instead of one shots) Any thing you can suggest beside the huge manual? :) thanks!
@@frequencymanipulator i do! Ok So I gotta spend those 80 bucks on chickensys! :) Another question: let’s say I have a break loop warped in a DAW in exactly 2 bars in 170bpm. Does the k2500 keep the length of the loop while changing bpm?
@@frequencymanipulator standard library, I feel like I'm the only one having a hard time finding good sounding samples. It does sounds gr8 anyway.. Have you had any experience with the S-series samplers? Considering buying an old unit and your video made me interested in the k2600r or k2500r, didn't know of them before. Now I understand they are also amazing synthesisers and therefore very sought after and expensive. But from what I see in the manuals Akai's UI seems easier to learn any opinion?
@J B Sorry, missed this comment. Akai's have a simpler architecture, less modulation. I am not into the filter sound, the resonance makes the signal lose presence. The Kurz envelopes & synthesis architecture are so good can make you forget it is a sampler. The internal sequencer is also really good fun.
@@TRaddcliff If you want to sync/track to a daw, you need to consider a MIDI Clock source that is generated via your audio sound card at sample rate. I use the expert sleepers ES3 and ES5, a friend uses the innerclock. USB will simply not do..
Frequency Manipulator clock comes from MOTU 828es. Midi thru MOTU Micro Lite. Jitter is a bitch. The random trigs on the Cirklon, could those be compared to Elektron Parameter Locks? To Eurorack i use ES-8 Adding: my computer is just for recording and transport. But that’s accessed from my controller.
Awesome. I love Kurzweil and have a couple of videos demoing my K2000VP here.
Hears Amen, presses 'like'.
It has such a tight clock. I think it's tighter than any daw's midi clock.

Endless Drum and Bass Programming. Go!
That's freaking cool.
wow, already learning a thing or two here
Does your unit come with SCSI storage of some form? (Flash etc)
@@frequencymanipulator yes the 2500rs i got comes with a usb floppy emulator. hasn't shown up yet, so i'm trying to learn about the potential it has.
Amazing!
Can this perform like RM1X/RS7000 pattern remix sequencer?
There are many ways to interact with the structure. I’m not familiar with the RM1X, can you describe the type of thing you would do with it?
What's the drum machine ? Thanks
Kurzweil K2600r I love it so much.
looks like these are the same buttons that are in upcoming Erica Synths sequencer

+poignant4insights yeah no worries, perhaps get a static band if you are worried !

Which part of the world do you live? I don't think you have to solder!

Do you have a flash storage SCSI or floppy attached, ideally you make the programs in Chicken systems constructor and copy them and load!!

@@2pandaemonium2 No, that would require granular techniques, which sound rubbish, unfortunately.
@@frequencymanipulator ok so always keep the bpm in the ballpark of the original loop. thx man!
I make sets of loops at specific tempos, each slice neatly faded and labelled

Where'd u snag these breakbeats?
It is from a classic collection we had back in the day. I will try and find the name.
@@frequencymanipulatorthanks!! Sounds tight. Would love to track it down... I was thinking about getting a 2600RS. U recommend it?
The K26 range is magnificent. The only thing it doesn't do is note chokes for hi-hats and percussion.
man this is wicked, layering several ones over one another.. want to share what breaks you're using? Amen Brother is obviously in there..
I have a horrible feeling that I went through a standard library for this project, so they will all be obvious…

I think you would need to ask Colin!! Did you ask on the forum?
i will do it, thanks
