I love this video but what about those folks that have dogs in their backyard like I do (inside / outside). Every time I would let them in flies come in like there's no tomorrow.
I started watching your videos about 3 years ago after I got my first home. It’s very typical for people to see the marketing and go with it and not read what’s in it. Your videos are the reason I’ve read the label on every product I use or recommend. Thanks for all of the content Allyn!
Thanks to you LCN, with this video and other past videos, I now "read" bags and labels in the store. Before LCN, I looked at the pictures on the front and in the shopping cart it went.
Between you and I... Can i apply termidor/taurus SC to the lawn? I know its not labeled for lawns but people still do it.. is there any negative side effects to doing this?
All organic lawn guy here, trying three kinds of nematodes this year for insect control. No easy way to monitor success but will see how bad the buggers are next season. Been using BtG for grubs and that has definitely worked up here in the transition zone.
Curious how this is going to work out for you. August means army worms down here in the south, and I have read that beneficial nematodes help prevent the infestation from happening. Unfortunately I didnt get ahead of it this year, so I will have to resort to chemicals again.
Hello lawn Care - Just put down new St Augs Sod hear in Florida ,-- the landscaper says this type of sod is susceptible to scabies pest , any feedback on this ? Or how soon after installation should one lay down a pest control ?
During the Summer I use Scott's SummerGuard, GrubEx and DiseaseEX. This triple header formula along with use of Hydretain and mowing high keeps my Midwest lawn green.
Thanks for the helpful tips. Just laid down my second app of Bug B-Gon. Definitely had sod web worm and grubs present. Also, thanks for mentioning Hydretain. I am going to give it a try. Just ordered a few 15 lb bags. Can't wait to add another sweet smell of success to my lawn!!! Thanks Allyn.
I am looking to kill/control fleas and ticks for protection of my family (including my Australian Shepherd). Any knowledge about what is the best option and how often I would need to apply? Grub control would be a nice side effect, although not a necessity.
You know your a LCN Jr when your literally watching a LCN video, and get a notification of a new video.. 😄. I watch LCN like it's a tv show. Thanks for all your great videos, my St Augustine is the best on the block, dominating with Flagship, and Stress blend, my secret weapons. 😁
I love your videos. I did put bio advance grub control at the grub rate here in Minnesota at the end of May but I am still seeing those moths. Do I need to be concerned? Or reapply? I would love if someone could answer this!!
Morning Allyn, I need some advice if you would. My daughter is building a house in KY that won't be ready to move in until October. That seems to late to seed a lawn, but I'm concerned that any rains will erode the back filled dirt. I'm thinking about annual rye, just to get some roots, but concerned that is to late as well. Any thoughts. Thanks for any input you have.
Allyn, if I use the BioAdvanced preventative bag next year and apply it in March/April, I'll get 2-3 months of protection for common damage/nuisance bugs; however will this not be as effective if I apply it again 2-3 months later (sometime in the summer) for additional protection? You mentioned to apply this product early in the season, just curious if this still works if I apply a 2nd app later in the season (summer/fall).
I saw the Bio Charken on the Yard Mastery App and bought a couple of bags this morning. It looks like it’s going to be a great addition to my program. I figured once the video drops it’s going to be gone. Thanks for bringing us DIYers more and more advanced products!
Thanks Allyn for the video.. I did learn “two or tree” things. 😁 will definitely be looking at the labels more closely. Always learn something new from your videos. Keep it up. 👍
Just purchased the Hydretain. It's coming tomorrow, and I can't wait. I have also purchased the 7-0-0 Green Effect to add to my bio-stim pack. My lawn will be double dark very soon.
I recently had my lawn sodded (not sure if that's a word) with ProVista and I am curious if you are throwing down on new sod. Other than watering do you have recommendations- other than fungicide? Thanks for the awesome videos!
All I know is I live in south Texas . Got sick of paying truegreen to screw my yard up. Started following your channel and my yard is in full blown domination mode. Even after the freeze. Took a lot of work. But knock on wood , it’s kickin asss. Milo, prodemine, image, flagship, Scott’s desease x, seven bug killer, a little bit of RGS and lots of water. Thanks.

Allen I wanted to mention something here. Now I know why you’ve always mentioned to mow regular! Found another tip mowing my lawn I wanted to bring up here. I’ve worked out of town for quite sometime and had some professionals mowing my lawn twice a week. I have a cool season lawn here in Kentucky. To make this short I finally got back to mowing my own lawn back home so I cancelled my professional grass cutting service. I’m now back to mowing my own lawn and enjoying he mow however I have a Turf type tall fescue lawn but while mowing I’m always using investigative research. Looking at my lawn at the same time enjoying the mow! I found I have a few small patches of wild Bermudagrass in my lawn and have been treating it with ORNAMEC with Aqua Zorb. Keeps my fescue looking good while I have some on stand by to spot treat the Bermudagrass as I see it. Always checking while mowing just a tip thanks for the fantastic videos
The one thing I've noticed in your videos is how you trim your lawn along driveway and sidewalks. Most people make sharp cuts into lawn along drive and sidewalks but yours looks very natural.
My Weed Issue, the legal kind :-) I can't kill my weeds. I'm using 'Southern Atrazine Weed Killer for St Augustine Grass' in South Eastern North Carolina. What are you using ??? Tks ..
I looked at the active ingredient in Cutter for mosquito control and found it was Lambda-Cyhalothrin. You've brought up Bifen I/T in other videos for mosquito and ant control. If you're focus is nuisance pests which is a better option or should we rotate?
I'm in Ohio and a lot of areas around me have been reporting army worm infestations. Is this something I should be proactive on and apply a treatment now? If so what would you recommend?
What products is good for Dillbugs? I'm in the South East Coastal GA. I have used Dominion 2l and Grubex. Both product work on Dillbugs and grub control. Can you recommend other products.
Hey Allyn, you showed all granule products, is that because you prefer to do your applications that way or because you believe granules are more effective at pest control? (Vs. a liquid app)
excellent question! I actually prefer liquid because I think it works faster/better. I just grabbed granular in this case because that is by far what sells most at the big box stores.
@@TheLawnCareNut ok, cool. I prefer liquid apps too, this is great info, I just discovered a ton of ants partying it up in my front lawn so I'm going to war with them.
Wish you'd have posted this yesterday. I just sprayed down triazicide RTU hose sprayer for fleas. We just sprayed down the house with some aerosol stuff, all over the fabric, bathed the dog and cat, and then I sprayed down the back yard. I hope it lasts...... I dont have some major infestation or anything, Just wanted to nip it in the bud before it became a problem.
Hey Alan I enjoy your comments I've been a long time strawberries probably about 3 years now I live in Tampa I'm my Augustine grass is turning t like a line color real bright green what is my problem and what do I need to fix it.
The video was very informative and I learned a lot, but....part of me was hoping for a video of you and Brett in chicken costumes doing a promo for Biocharken!🤣
Allan, do you sell weed control for St.Augustine, floratam grass. I purchased 2 different weed killers for st Augustine grass and applied one on half and the other type on the other half. One killed everything and the other almost killed. That’s when I learned what type St Augustine grass I had. Which they do not sell weed control for Floratam St Augustine grass. Yet, they only sell floratam grass. Is there such a weed killer?

Hey Allyn, I've been subscribed to you forever but I've never had the grass type you work worth, until now. I have beautiful KBG and I was wondering in your very early videos was that KBG in your yard? I was hoping I can use all that info to help me with my current KBG yard. It will be as if I'm watching them all over again for the first time lol. Thanks a lot!
It varies but for the most part, stuff from the store will work just fine. however, the pro formulations are actually cheaper in the long run, you just have to invest more up front.
Have you ever used Talstar? I put it down for fire ants this year in upstate SC and it’s worked great. However, I don’t know what all pests it covers or for how long.
To control mosquitoes I use Talstar from the Do My Own website. I mix 1 oz per gallon and spray a fine mist around the perimeter of my yard as well as trees, shrubs and mulch beds. The active ingredient is bifenthrin and I spray an application about once per month. I would recommend this stuff. I was out on the deck until sunset last night and had zero mosquitoes. 👍
I used to have an ant infestation every summer, they would be in the kitchen and car. But they would seemingly randomly dissapear. It took me a few seasons to realize the granules I was putting down for the ticks was also killing the ants.

Thank you, Allyn. As always you bring it every time. Rain's coming here on Long Island so I'll be dropping The Stress Blend. Thanks again, for all you've given us.
Dude I see white flies big time. I've sprayed some liquids and they don't go away... but I have some granular grub control that I guess I better put down now. Down here in Florida, If you have ants, you must have Bahia grass. I don't...I have Floritam and Palmetto grass. I'm trying to figure out which one is better and I like the best.
bahia overall is a little thinner and doesn't create a dense canopy which does allow more room for ants to invade. Floratam can help keep them out for sure.

What do you do with all those bags after shooting the video?
I'll use them over time I'm sure.
Takes them back says he didn't need them lol
