I am not an Amazon or Scott's rep but wanted to let you guys know that the Scott's DiseaseEX is currently the Deal of the Day at Amazon (06/02/2020). The price per bag is only $11 (USD) which is a freaking steal. I picked up 2 bags :)
I cannot get rid of the fungus. I've used everything. I'm in Idaho and the grass is dormant but I can still see it. I have a gps on my cat and when I track her from the ariel view I see it. It won't die.
Keep teaching us 8th graders! There’s so much info in every vid (great job) that it’s tough to absorb all at once. Repeating it makes it stick. Thanks for converting us to LCNs.
I love listening to you say we're going to get rain every single day here in Florida. You must be hording all the clouds because it is definitely avoiding the coast right now.
Thank you! Perfect timing for my question "If I could put both products down at the same time." Even though I put Grub Control and Disease Ex down five days ago, I purchased the Bayer product. Thanks again
Alan, great and informative video. I've had recurring brown patch issues with my Long Island lawn, treated with both propicanzole and Disease Ex only to have regular recurrence. I finally realized that mower hygiene (or lack thereof) has been a factor and once I started washing the bed of my mower, gained the upper hand in fighting the disease. Thought I'd share that point with you and perhaps might help others.
Perfect timing for this video. I spent the weekend trying to identify the start of an issue that I'm 99% sure is a fungus. Confirmed my next application! Thanks!!
I just bought a house in Winder GA, had not been able to cut the grass in like over a month. Finally able to do it yesterday. I have Zoysia grass in my back yard and mostly in the front, Should I throw in a bag of each of the products now or wait. Back yard looks in much better condition than front. Thank you for all your videos they are great help will sign up to your email to keep my grass green and make neighbors mad hahahaha
RUclips has been my resource for how to do things I don't know how to do. I could kick myself for waiting until mid-September to humbly admit that I don't have the answer to my lawn problem. I think I understand now, and my Amazon order is on the way. Thank you, LCN! One topic I would like to see is how to get rid of Coastal Bermuda invading a Zoysia lawn. I tried spot spraying with Ornimec last year with little success and damaged the lawn. This year I used Fusilade which effectively killed Bermuda but severely damaged the Zoysia. It's my theory that the weakened health, combined with heavy compaction in some areas (construction crew) contributed to brown patch spreading (or fungus). Overwatering probably contributed as well.
Perfect timing! Threw down some DiseaseEx on Memorial Day weekend.....and will be spraying Propic 14.3 next weekend. Hoping to keeping my St. Aug healthy.
Should have watched this first before I threw mine down. Very interested in why both bags. Hmmm, should I have thrown down two bags? Well I’ll give the Scott’s a months and see and then if I have to go with bio advanced. Great video!
I have a small section of my lawn that every single year gets brown areas in it. I treat it with the Disease X and with Sevin for grubs and it clears up and is fine the rest of the summer.
I have spots like that too - sometimes I think it's animal urine, other times I'm convinced disease - really strange but it does go away. Just one of those things about learning your land.
Allen, You will never know how much I & or We have enjoyed Your Vlog and the time that You put into this channel is just unreal I am sure. One thing that I really like about You is Your attitude and energy about having a nice yard and home. If You enjoy the mow or doing some yard work then it's fun and enjoyable and the outcome will show. On the other hand if Your someone who hates mowing or doing yard work then it will show and Your yard will look like ass. I find just having the right attitude goes a long long way with anything in life really. There is someone out there right now that is saying Man I wish I had not lost My job and house and I had a yard to mow............. think about that. Anyway the light bulb went off in My head about not bagging the lawn and leaving all that fert that You just put down. My next door neighbor said the same thing and Man does He have a killer lawn. Anyway since I now mulch I really enjoy the mow and My grass (bermuda) is really looking nice and thick and plush. Thank You a million times. And keep up this insane work that You do. Cheers
Charles Hamilton I wanna mention that I dreaded getting a yard, but after watching Allyn he has made it so much more enjoyable and I’m finding I now have the lawn itch, so thank you Arryn God Bless!!!
Completely redid my fescue lawn from seed this year and it was lookin' amazing.... until the Brown Patch hit... Didn't know any better and so now doing damage control with Propiconazole and Heritage G. This was really informative, thanks!
I got bermuda grass, Even though we have been on spring , here in west texas we are getting summer heat all spring long. Literally 96°+ everyday no rain. In my area I get a small shower one afternoon for like 10min 1 day in the week. Everybody in my neighborhood just gave up with their lawn for this year. I'm fighting to keep it green
It's getting to the point here in the Midwest that it's really hard to grow fine bladed fescue anymore. I'd hate to go back to K31 but I might have too. It gets so damn hot here with 100 plus days increasing each year that you have to water a bunch and then comes the fungus and brown patch. Make no mistake, it's not as humid as South Florida or Houston but it's pretty bad here. If you back way way off on the water then the grass can't take the heat and can die,not go dormant. We've already had six days at 100+ at my house and have most of July, all of August and early Sept to go.
Got my CX DIY ordered tonight....Goes down the 18th!!! Can't wait. Haha @5:30 of this video if you are watching on a laptop if your are not so close to your screen it looks like a kid is holding up your mailbox and hiding his head behind the actual box behind you Allyn until you realize it your Flag decoration at the base of mailbox making the illusion.
Hi... Thank you so much for this video!! Awesome video!!! Question for you, how long should I wait after applying Scotts DiseaseEX on my lawn and still don't see no improvement or shall I say speed the process, can I add the BioAdvanced liquid to my lawn?
Application with a rolling device seems variable. What would be great is if you spread it over asphalt Walk back and forth or in a circle and then show a picture of the density in which the seed was cast.
Allyn, thank you so much for this timely video! I did a spring lawn renovation up in central NC (6a) and it's been growing in amazingly but I just started to see these strange brown spots. Since I'm subscribed to your channel I saw this video and I realized with all the rain followed by cloud cover it was perfect conditions for lawn fungus to arise. So I will be THROWIN 'ER DOWN later today with these products! You rock, dude!
What do you do after the application of these products and your disease is currently present in your lawn? Do you have to put down grass seed to fix the dead zones?
I'm going to hit our cool season fescue back with the remainder DiseaseEx I have. I think our front lawn zoysia is in good shape. Both sides will get a good dose of SOP 0-0-50 though to get through the summer.
Talk about perfect timing for a topic!! My neighbor just gave me a bag of Jonathan Greene Fungus Control. I looked up the ingredient and it's a Group 1 fungicide. I already had a bag of Scott's Disease X. Will the group 1 Jonathan Greene work fine in addition to the Scott's? Oh, and I was going to ask, do you send stickers when someone orders from your store? Thanks again for the video and all your help!!!
Is that a MN Millennial Farmer hat?? New subscriber here. I just purchased a Toro Recycler RWD after watching a few of your vids. I'm really enjoying learning!
Great review, been using Headway G granular that combines both ingredients from both Scott's and Bioadvanced, doing the math using your reviewed products should save about $25 per app 👍
I live in the northeast. Been working in the lawncare industry for 20 years. I like to use the disease ex starting in June until the humidity breaks. I find in works best applied every 2 weeks. My lawn is prone to pulythium blight. ( dont think I spelled that right) lol
I’ve lost some turf to take all patch and have read university papers stating it is pointless to re sod until it’s controlled. How many fungicide apps should I make before considering repairing the lawn?
I've had this many times with my St. A lawn in Texas. Biggest problem I've had is that even if it doesn't kill the St. A entirely, Bermuda will invade while the St. A is recovering and likely takeover. So now I have a patchwork lawn with areas of St. A and Bermuda. Not great. This year I decided to cut the Brown Patch out and sod it with fresh St. A. I did similar last year and seems to have worked. But perhaps I need to consider some of these fungicides- have been trying to stay organic with my Lawn Care.
Hi I have a question, last year I redid my lawn all new perennial ryegrass. Now I live in Long Island New York. And this year my lawn has been nothing but trouble. Between watering and I got a fungus. And I treated is with Scott’s and now bio shield. And now that killed it. There is more brown. I going crazy. So Iam going to reseed. I don’t want this next year. If can help thank you.
Hi Allyn! I am glad that I found you :) I see that you use that Scotts's Edgeguard quite a bit in your videos and I like that because I have that same spreader. I am a rookie, but later on hope to upgrade to the big leagues. Any tips on how to avoid stripping with that spreader? I hear to do double passes at half the rate. Thank you and keep up the excellent work!
If I heard you right for the dollar spot fungus I can just let it grow out? I think I got some fungus on my new sod from over watering. I don’t want to damage my new lawn. Are these fungicides safe on new turf? Thanks!
Currently fighting rust in my lawn. Been pumping the nitrogen to grow it out with no luck. Put down Scott's 2 weeks ago and my Prop 14.3 just showed up so throwing that down tomorrow.
I am have the spreader and have been getting stripping. I have looked it over and it seems like it’s throwing the material evenly? Have you ever heard of this and could it be a problem with my lawn or something else with the machine? Pretty sure I need to fix my thatch problem so would that do it if the thatch isn’t allowing the fert to penetrate... not sure why I would get darker green lines though. Thanks for any help
Man I wish I had done this.... I have new sod Saint Augustine grass and have issues with Grey Leaf Spot. I put down some f stop a week ago which is a group 3 but I didn't think about the double attack. Now I am going to buy some disease x to help get my grass back in order. That Grey Leaf Spot took over fast! Went from perfect lawn to halfway good lawn :(. At what point would you suggest more fertilizer? Don't want to feed the disease!
Fungus from to much watering also. Created a dead patch because it was there so long. Lemme correct myself.. green fuzzy stuff on soil. Cutdown watering massively to correct it. Once dead brought water back up a bit ( still less than before)
how would you fertilize your lawn that has a fruit tree in the middle of your lawn and how would you fertilize the tree. Do you use different types of fertilizer? Im not sure if you've already addressed this question before. thank you
Thanks for all the great videos! Question: I have some new grass on an existing lawn I just put in about a month ago. Is this safe to throw down? How about when you just seeded? Thanks again!
Allyn, I get brown patch yearly in my tall fescue. Right now my yard looks really good. I ordered both product's, should I use both, one after the other, and water in good, or use one and wait a couple weeks to use the other ? Thank you, Johnny
Hey LCN big fan here from Long Island, NY. Just purchased the new macro-micro blend YM fert, and looking forward to throwing down. If it’s averaging in the mid 70’s here with a pop of 80 once or twice a week, is this fert to much N to throw down at this point in the season? If so should I go with the summer stress blend or something else with low N ? Thanks !
I love it when my father in law tells me “if you mow your lawn low you’re just gonna have nothing but diseases.” (Cool season lawn) Well here I m doing my homework on that because I’m sure he’s full of it yet again lol.
Could over-using preventative cause fungus with immunity to those measures or reduce the grass's natural ability to fend off fungus? Just curious, thanks!

I really like how you broke down the disease triangle. Reminds me of an old girl friend I had
Lol she gave you a little fungus in your triangle?

Thanks bro 👊

Be careful with the propiconazole. It shouldn't be used if temps are above 85 and always use the low rate as it can be hard on the turf.
It’s crazy how much I learned from your videos!! Thanks!
Millennial Farmer hat? Way cool dude. I’m in MN and know people that grew up with him. Zach is killing it on RUclips and makes great videos.
He is a good dude for sure!
Perfect timing. I just threw down some Disease X today. 👍
hoorah!
Trying to find the link to your email newsletter … still doing it? Really appreciate your advice! Thank you!

yeah it sucks when that happens - in time it should clear up with that combination for sure.

Ohhhh I see that NEW Macro-Micro blend in background! I need some! 🌱🌱🌲🌲😁
The 24 0 4 worked out great a thick lawn just put down disease ex
Nothing quite like the smell of Scott's DiseaseEX...or Eagle20. Smells like summer!
I love the Minnesota hat!
Disease Ex is on sale on Amazon for $11 for a 10 pound bag, I would jump on it guys, great deal!
Main stage looking dominant bro. Thanks for the great informational video.👍👊😀🇺🇸
I think I'm going to take the wait and see as I've never noticed it before and watch for it in my two project plots
The edc was unexpected and cool. I’m big into it as well.

Good to see @16:43 the Edgeguard is in the off position!!!!! Nothing worse then forgetting to turn that off.
I've done that before lol
Always fun and educational. Keep up the good work! P.S. I miss the podcast.

Great review, been using Headway G granular that combines both ingredients from both Scott's and Bioadvanced, doing the math using your reviewed products should save about $25 per app 👍
Do I still treat the entire lawn if I only see the problems in parts of the lawn?
I live in the northeast. Been working in the lawncare industry for 20 years. I like to use the disease ex starting in June until the humidity breaks. I find in works best applied every 2 weeks. My lawn is prone to pulythium blight. ( dont think I spelled that right) lol

Just got inside from applying the bullet proof strat. After getting crushed by rust last year, I wasnt gonna let it wreak havoc this year.

Very helpful to this new home new lawn owner in Tennessee.
I put milo a few days ago and luckily I did it right before a stretch of rain.
Good work ! 🤘
Mowed my lawn today with my MN Farmer hat on!

you're welcome!
Good timing, I just threw down the double punch on Friday :) Full on early summer rain season here
Very clear explanation and a bunch of precious info. Can I mix Grub curative granules and Grubex at the same application day? Thank you
So u have to apply both bags?
Yea alan..just layed down 3 bags of the disease ex yesterday..learned bout it from the facebook page..
Don’t forget to follow with some good ol potash! Has done wonders for my recovery.
A little goes a long way. (That's what I tell my wife.)
😂
This is a family channel man 😂
Isn’t that how families get started? :P
I really like the BioAdvanced (formerly Bayer) products. They work better than Spectracide, Ortho and RoundUp brands in my opinion
Completely agree 💯
Like the videos, has helped me a lot!
yep
Fungus from to much watering also. Created a dead patch because it was there so long.
Lemme correct myself.. green fuzzy stuff on soil.
Cutdown watering massively to correct it. Once dead brought water back up a bit ( still less than before)
how would you fertilize your lawn that has a fruit tree in the middle of your lawn and how would you fertilize the tree. Do you use different types of fertilizer? Im not sure if you've already addressed this question before. thank you
Can this be applied in the summer in SW FLA?
Thanks for all the great videos! Question: I have some new grass on an existing lawn I just put in about a month ago. Is this safe to throw down? How about when you just seeded? Thanks again!
Disease X says it's safe for seeding, I suspect Bayer is too, but don't know for sure.
Allyn has the yard domination line and the Crocodile Dundee Knife but even better with the Fertilizer Prills in tow!
Awesome Video even the pic quality is just Pro content!
thanks bro!
Currently have raging red thread in predominantly TTTF. Sprayed entire 16k yard with Eagle 20 at 1.2 oz/1000. Hoping for the best!
Let me know how to get rid of fungus
I live in Yelm WA and I have so much fungus in my lawn. Is it to late to put down a fungicide. Second question can I push for color this time of year?
I do have brown patches and some brown shades of leaves on the lawn, is it ok if I throw down some fertilizer too along with these?
Allyn, I get brown patch yearly in my tall fescue. Right now my yard looks really good. I ordered both product's, should I use both, one after the other, and water in good, or use one and wait a couple weeks to use the other ? Thank you, Johnny
just do them both in the same day to make things easier. Then again 25 days later.
@@TheLawnCareNut thank you, I appreciate the be help.
I just put Scotts turfbuilder + dandelion killer on my lawn 2 weeks ago. Is it to soon to put milorganite down ? Should I wait 2 more weeks?
is it to late to apply this in KY? How often do I need to put it down if so?
Thanks!
Thanks !
I love it when my father in law tells me “if you mow your lawn low you’re just gonna have nothing but diseases.” (Cool season lawn)
Well here I m doing my homework on that because I’m sure he’s full of it yet again lol.
have you thought about a standalone AC unit for the garage?
Could over-using preventative cause fungus with immunity to those measures or reduce the grass's natural ability to fend off fungus? Just curious, thanks!
Can I apply fertilizer after?
Deal of the day on Amazon today. Scott’s DiseaseEX $11.
8th grade all over again! 😂😂😂. I was rolling! Great info!
When is the Podcast coming back?
I miss the podcast also. Especially when I’m driving distances
