Great informational Vid Allyn! For those with larger lawn and are more advanced I have been using Bifen XTS which is a stronger concentrate 25.1% Bifenthrin verse the Bifen IT which is 7.9% Bifenthrin. As you can see you will get more bang for your buck using the Bifen XTS products. There are some important notes using the Bifen XTS, 1. It is Oil based so you cannot use on the inside of your house. 2. if mixing with less than 2gl per 1K of treatment they recommend using a Non-Ionic Surfactant. 3. As stated in this vid water in with .25 to .50 inches of irrigation. I hope this helps others save some $$$ down the road. Peace and God's Love Chad Upstate NY
Thanks again for teaching me how to use distribution with other methods. Pump spraying is not for me but granular and ortho dial are doable. Many thanks for the help.
Last year you helped me with grubs. Thanks. This year when I saw June bugs I treated immediately and knocked it out fast. I should have thrown down a preventive treatment in March. Next year they have no chance. Thank you for all the help.
Allyn, I think there may be a mistake interpreting the label. If you look at about 10:32 in the video the label shows application rates. It looks to me it is .18-.25 for sod webworms. The bottom half of this section also shows a second rate of 1.0 oz/1000 sqft if grass is higher than 1". I looked up another label for 7.9% Bifen in larger sizes, it says: "Notes ¹Armyworms, Cutworms, and Sod Webworms: Postpone irrigation or mowing for 24 hours after application to obtain the best possible control. Higher treatment rates (up to 1 fluid oz. per 1000 square feet) may be necessary if high pest pressure exists and if the grass is maintained taller than 1 inch. So, if you grass is higher than 1" should the rate be 1oz/1000 sqft? Thank You for a great video!
I had to double check this on the label based on what Allyn said and both of your comments. The key here is he said his target pest was Sod Webworms. According to the label, 0.18 - 0.25 are the rates per 1,000 sq fr (1st group of bugs listed) Now, if you’re targeting one of the other types of bugs - chinch bugs (suppression) for example - the label states to use 0.25 - 0.5 per 1,000 sq ft l. Chinch are in the 2nd group of bugs. The 3rd group of bugs which includes Ants among other things calls for 0.5 - 1 per 1,000 sqft

Very informative Allyn. I've applied granular back on 6/15 in the back yard (mainly for fleas because that's where our dog spends time outside). I think the product was Triazinide or something like that. I need to do the rest of the yard and I'm wondering if I should try a hose end version. Also, can I spray the area where I already threw down the granular version? Thanks.
Thanks for this video! My lawn is infested with web worms I thought maybe it was fertilizer burn until I looked at it closer! Just put down some bifenthrin today! 🤞
I love and have used BIFEN for the last two years. It's my "go to" to eliminating almost every kind of insect all over my lawn. I actually just sprayed yesterday. Great video!
Accidentally turned my irrigation system off for a week and now the chinchbugs got to it trying to kill them before they takeover my whole lawn put down granular insecticide but they are not dying. I guess I’m going to have to buy a liquid too then possibly put some composted topsoil in the slightly damaged areas
Thanks for the great video Allyn. I see your focusing allot on ensuring your viewers read the label which is great. May I make a suggestion for a safety aspect during mixing chemicals. I like to use protective eye wear as once I was dropping in some product in my back pack sprayer and a miracle drop splashed back and hit my glasses had I not had those I’d been in trouble. Also while mixing product it may not be a bad idea to wear a respirator as mixing is the most toxic time you could inhale the fumes. Of course the label will suggest all necessary ppe needed for each product. Sorry if this is choppy I’m on my phone.
Hi, I sprayed my yard and house all over with bifen.... I sprayed the patio light right outside my door..... so far so good with mosquitos and keeping bugs out, but tonight, 6 days after spraying (no rain for 48 hours after I sprayed) when I was out at night with patio light on, the flies were BAD right at the light... swarming the light.... I sprayed the light and surrounding part of the house by the light... this was the 1st time since I sprayed that I went outside with patio light on..... will the flies that kept hitting the light eventually die off from the residual of the bifen it (7.9%) or is bifen just not effective for flies that are attracted to the light?

Hey Alan got a question I got an invasion of Dallas grass in my tall fescue yard how do I get rid of Dallas grass without hurting my fescue love to hear back
Hi, Alynn. So, I got an issue with my South Bend Indiana lawn. I mow anywhere from 2-3 days and the grass still lays down. I cut back on water as well. Do you think I should drop down to 2.5 in? I’m currently mowing at 3.5-4 inches. Depending on how much rain, and how hot it gets. I just worry about it going dormant. I’m also getting fungus. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks man.
