All I would note is that the original weapons for many of them were in fact made by the same brand. Logically it doesn’t make much sense that the custom dualie squelcher name refers to both of them, since they’re made by the same brand. what’s even more shocking is that this means that sheldon has never invented ANY weapons. even the aerospray and dynamo roller were made by his grandfather. This means that sheldon is merely a vendor and the developers have no real reason to have kept him as the vendor for three games in a row since he’s not significant outside of the spkatoon 2 story
Oh, i think the sticker is more for inkling on octoling to remember wich one is the vannila and wich one is the custom, due to the fact that the custom brand is just making the same weapon with hight quality component. (Sheldon specified it)
@@DittoMewmew Yes, but it's still the Splat company itself that's making the weapons, they're just selling licensing deals to let some clothing brands get some advertisement on their weapons. Fun fact: the Custom Jr isn’t actually Custom branded. It’s called the “Custom” Jr due to a probable mistranslation that was kept for translation consistency, and in Japanese it has a different prefix than the Custom brand’s suffix.
To piggyback off of what @JamUsagi typed, the original stickers on both variants of the Splattershot Jr. are based on those placed on the back of motor vehicles operated by a new driver (with a green, fresh leaf) and by an experienced driver (with an autumn-colored leaf). I’m gonna do it. Sorry, but I must. Every brand is responsible for both kits of each of its mains, New Squiffer is made by Dolphin, the Gold and mk weapons are both made by Ammo Knights, the Splattershot family, Splat Roller, Splat Charger, Splat Dualies, and Mini Splatling are produced by a brand simply called Splat (with all of their second kits being collabs), and Sorella produces all three of the Sorella brellas (with Sorella Tent being a collab with Inkline). The Splattershot and Order skins are presumably made by Cuttlegear and Tri-Stringer’s brand is strangely unknown. If I know one thing about this game, it’s weapon brand lore. Cool video, though!
I'll comment on that I was aware of the whole mains thing, however adding all the base kits would have made the video way too long so I chose to omit them (besides the skins). Brellas i've gotten pushback prior for labeling them all as 1 brand in the past which is why I looked for other sticker stuff to identify new ones. But today it seems like people are saying it is ok to make them all 1 brand so noted for future.
Recycled Brella is actually made by Sorella (their logo is in the spinny renders). Also the tri-stringer brand isn’t the only brand that doesn’t have an official name. “Dolphin” is just based on the logo. There’s also “Whale” (which makes autobomb and wave breaker) and “Shark fins” (which makes Fizzy bomb and tacticooler).
actually recycled brella was made by sorella, however it was probably made in collaboration with ammo knights as sorella seems to love doing collaborations based on the foil logo on splat brella's handle and tenta sorella brella being in a sponsorship with inkline

Cuz it was my headcanon for so long that the vanilla kit is designed by the company that manages the whole turf war game stuff (presumably splat????? Is there actual lore on that), and the second kit was made by the actual brand that made the kit. (And splat does collabs with other brands cuz they already made the first kit)
The "Mk" skins are Cuttlegear, the brand that makes most of the story mode / octo-themed stuff. You can see the logo on both the sticker and on Recycled's canopy. It makes sense since the Bamboozler is Captain Cuttlefish's weapon of choice.
@@dolbaeb3447 Surprisingly, it's actually not. The two companies are completely separate, and Sorella makes all their weapons themselves with no connection to Splat. Love how lore experts are correcting the misconceptions in this video. I'm learning a lot reading through the comments, and also was not aware brand lore was THIS deep holy moly
I just wanted to say something about Custom Range Blaster: In the file for the weapon, there is an alt texture, _however_ it is 1) unchanged from the default and 2) not actually used in the material (it still pulls the default Range Blaster's texture) So it looks like they were planning to do a custom texture for the Custom Range Blaster but just forgot / gave up.
I saw the Annaki logo on the thumbnail and was gonna ride or die with the whole brand, but we're just talking weapons sooo..... yeah Annaki Nova looks neat! :)
With the intro just being basically just family guy, and the video in general. This is the best chara vid. Tied with that one patch where I took a ss of chara sitting in a corner over a enperry nerf.
Gold and Cuttle are a part of the same brand (both handmade by sheldon), Custom Jr isnt actually owned by Custom, its owned via Splat, All brellas are owned via Sorella they just collab with other brands sometimes to make the second kits. The icons do NOT determine the actual branding of the weapon, just the names matter. Annaki Nova from the inkpedia list is also incorrect, that weapon is owned by Splat. 😭
I love Custom's industrial tool aesthetic, they made the Dualie Squelchers, the Hydra Splatling (before they trimmed my boy down), the Sting Ray and the Explosher. Their weapon themes are on point and you get the idea they're some of the heaviest hitters. Then WHY ARE THEIR BRANDINGS JUST STICKERS?!
Sometimes I wish we could apply the stickers or skins ourselves. Not changing the kit, but the looks and sounds. Like an “Order E-Liter” or “Order Splattershot Pro”.
good vid! enjoyed this one! I’m glad order got the top spot it is also my favorite! now if only the glittered inks were also used in main modes outside the dlc that would have been awesome xD i haven’t touch the dlc after finishing it multiple times and getting the badges and clearing the store xD
CJet is also an ever so slightly different blue…gee thanks Custom! 7:10 Also NOVA PROPAGANDA FUCK YEAH!!! Also also it’s rlly cool how each time the weapons are being held it’s a different one of the editors’ characters (and I think Chara’s too correct me if I’m wrong) which is a super neat detail!!
Random fact: Custom Splattershot Jr. isn't actually made by the Custom brand, it's made by Splat which is the same brand that makes the vanilla Splattershot Jr., along with several other standard weapons. In Japanese, all the other Custom weapons have a transliteration of "Custom" in their name like in English, while Custom Jr. is called the "Momiji Shooter." The name comes from the "momiji mark," a symbol that represented elderly car drivers in Japan and featured a similar design to the sticker on the side of the weapon. This contrasts the vanilla Splattershot Jr. being called the "Wakaba Shooter," being named after the wakaba mark which is used by beginner drivers. I'm not sure why they decided to refer to it as "Custom" in the English localization but I find it pretty interesting. (I saw other comments point this out already, but I thought I would attempt to explain the context behind it too)
Maybe there just wasn't an equivalent word in English, so NoA called it Custom Jr. in S1 before they added actual "custom" brand weapons in later updates
Lol didn't expect Tentatek to be so high but I do love the design of the Tentatek Splattershot in S3 over S2--it's so cute and pink! I always thought the S2 TTek was kind of ugly.

splat: made the jr, splattershot, pro, nova, splat roller, big swig, splat charger and mini
splat's second kits are usually named after other in-universe brands (except for junior)
custom, neo, deco, foil and nouveau you should already know
sorella: made every brella, including the recycle brella for some reason. 2 of their second kits are named after their own brand while tent is named after inkline and rebrella is just a different version
ammo knights: made the Aerospray, the dynamo roller, the nautilus, the bamboozler and also both hero shot and octo shot replicas. they're made by sheldon using his grandfather's blueprints
D (nicknamed "dolphin") made the nozzlenoses, the squiffer and the dread wringer
Tentatek: made both tetra dualies and the tentatek splattershot in collab with splat
stringer: literally only ever made the tri stringer
Nintendo: nintendo shameless plug (they are literally an in-universe brand)
the order weapons do not have a brand apparently
ngl I love random videos like these, they may not be as educative as the indepth competitive side but really fun for casual while still have some bits of casual that is somewhat digestable for casuals.
They double down as fun content, have some goofy idea videos in the mix is a good way to keep things fresh once in a while too
The opening was perfect pfft.
I was so happy with the brand weapons, I wish they brought back Toni Kensa weapons-
Forge Pro basically is the new K Splattershot Pro but replaced Splat Bomb with Suction then kept Booyah Bomb. Silver Flag reached on that 🦑
As a Forge/Kensa Pro Main
Im fine using the successor of the HOLY weapon
1:07 is no one gonna talk about that sick splat happening in the background?
Now that this video's out we're getting a trailer for Sheldon's picks sometime this week and you're gonna have to redo this
That was one of the best intros we've ever had on this channel
Love the positivity in this video, complimenting the Order Brella kit was kinda funny.
This video was a lot of fun to watch! I’d love to see more brand rankings (which I’m calling “Brand Battles”) in the future… even if they likely won’t happen too often lol
I love that more love is going into the brands of Splatoon, they're super creative and I'm glad they're getting some more love!
Interesting video idea! Nice concept, I would’ve never thought of that
Finally someone talking about the real important teir lists.
Forge is the best for hats. Enperry has my single favorite clothing option (the Navy Eminence). And the golden brand had the best looking weapons
Please also do the base kits based on which brands canonically manufactured them
Surprised You Didn't Mention The Rhinestones On The Gal Kits. I Think They're Very Unique.
chara teetering in saying “oh my god guys” to his team was hilarious
Love how lore experts are correcting the misconceptions in this video. I'm learning a lot reading through the comments, and also was not aware brand lore was THIS deep holy moly
Lol that intro segment.
My man really didn't mention the Splatana Wiper Deco
I just wanted to say something about Custom Range Blaster:
In the file for the weapon, there is an alt texture, _however_ it is 1) unchanged from the default and 2) not actually used in the material (it still pulls the default Range Blaster's texture)
So it looks like they were planning to do a custom texture for the Custom Range Blaster but just forgot / gave up.
TL:DR nintendo is stupid and messed up the files
I saw the Annaki logo on the thumbnail and was gonna ride or die with the whole brand, but we're just talking weapons sooo.....
yeah Annaki Nova looks neat! :)
I cant believe Chara works with Nia Xenoblade
Seeing her in the intro shocked me as a Xenoblade fan
It kinda makes sense though he uses Xenoblade songs in his videos
@@catalyst539 yeah one of the editors is prolly a huge xeno fan
I love how you pronounce "mark" like "mock"
I’d love to see you make a sort of part 2 where you rank the gear brands based on their gears appearance and their most likely ability
The intro is peak honestly
With the intro just being basically just family guy, and the video in general. This is the best chara vid. Tied with that one patch where I took a ss of chara sitting in a corner over a enperry nerf.
love videos like this, keep it up chara!
I have SUCH a soft spot for in-game worldbuilding, and Splatoon’s brands do just that. This is going to be one epic video
The opening was so cool! Also love the video, I also think the Order weapons are the best!
I love Custom's industrial tool aesthetic, they made the Dualie Squelchers, the Hydra Splatling (before they trimmed my boy down), the Sting Ray and the Explosher. Their weapon themes are on point and you get the idea they're some of the heaviest hitters.
Then WHY ARE THEIR BRANDINGS JUST STICKERS?!
gear brand tier list when ?
Sometimes I wish we could apply the stickers or skins ourselves. Not changing the kit, but the looks and sounds. Like an “Order E-Liter” or “Order Splattershot Pro”.
Fun fact (this kinda helps nouveaus score): all of their weapons are art related! Except dapple, tho it could be toothbrush art
Can we get a short for Riptide so I can send that part to my friends?
1:08 I think i shriveled up from this.
Wait but I actually love the brands I needed this
Custom really pulled the genius business strategy of “slap your logo on it and say ‘I did that’”
good vid! enjoyed this one!
Also also it’s rlly cool how each time the weapons are being held it’s a different one of the editors’ characters (and I think Chara’s too correct me if I’m wrong) which is a super neat detail!!
i remember before custom range came into the game EVERYONE thought it would have a blue flame design and then curse of yellow sticker happened
4:00 bro is not slick 😭
Bro really wanna summon the squid devil
One of my favorite things about weapon brands is that Neo completely carried the game's early meta, since they made both Splash and Machine.
Chara really did the order stringer dirty, bro didn't mention it once
Did you just call Cuttlegear, "Mk?" Your profile wears one of their shirts.
The Splatoon 2 hero shot is imo the best looking Splatoon weapon all time, cuz it reminds me of the p90
Good video, but the whole "combining brands" thing felt random and arbitrary. Why were Tentatek and Foil put together, or Dolphin and Gold?
I kinda like the random video ideas. Nothing too controvertial yet still great way to draw in people.
for the order brand you could have used the starter kits they gave us in side order, like roller with burst and kraken
4:01 well this gear brand is legit hell....
Kensa has best kit design. Fight me.
I think you shouldve taken into account the common and uncommon abilities and how good they are, gaining points for a good common, losing points for a good uncommon, and vice versa
Love the video, Chara
I thought it was gonna be based on their gear and now I wanna do that on my own time lol
We really need a choose your kit. I want a Stringer with Torpedos
Personally I wouldn’t mind reeflux with reefslider, if it didn’t have wall
And Enperry knee what they were doing with the dualies. Love the gold and black color, and the kit is perfect for going in and deleting everyone
0:59 poor Custom Industries got personally attacked :(
also this video adds another aspect of putting all the twitter brand fan accounts of a tierlist
Me sitting in the corner with my Annaki nova and cool red clothes:
I love the order skins they look so good
7:09 Its true, Annaki Nova is actually the best weapon in the entire game
Don't you sometimes feel like you're going crazy, and then you watch Inside Out 1 and suddenly everything clicks in your head, you know the people you love hate how it all clicked in your head, and then you shove down all of your emotions and memories? Don't you sometimes feel like you finally know what it is like to have a healthy mind, but then you're too scared to have it and want to return back to feeling like an empty husk of a puppet? Don't you sometimes feel like you're bound to just snap and do something crazy?
What does this have to do with weapon brands? Well, I used to for the longest time not really care about them because there's nothing about them in the main game, only in side content and not a lot of stuff about them in the side content that isn't in the main game. I get they're not the focus, but I NEED content to consume, otherwise my brain just dies. I NEED TO CONSUME MORE AND MORE CONTENT JUST TO STAY ALIVE, PLEASE NINTENDO YOU HAVE TO KEEP ME ON LIFE SUPPORT, I CAN'T JUST TALK ABOUT ALL OF MY FEELINGS IN THERAPY PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NINTENDO, PLEASE!
I'm not going crazy, you're going crazy. I'm fine. I may have no self preservation in me, but I don't need it. I don't need anything, I don't need anyone, I don't even need those who love and care for me if all they can do is hurt me. I feel pain every single day, but now I can actually start to feel happy being allowed to cry. Being told it is okay to cry. It makes me so happy, that God has finally given me a small act of kindness. I'll still curse out his name internally, but for right now, I'm grateful. Thank you, Inside Out creators, you mean everything to me now.
I should not go to Rip Tide.
I am probably going insane, but you're on a whole another level...
also, a lot off the VANILLA weapons or first kits most off the time are part of the same brand like how Vstamper has the nouveou logo on the hilt.
Why does he keeps flexing doing 360° with his squiffer 💀
1:50 but custom douser duallies are different
He's gonna feel so silly when they announce third kits tomorrow, smile :)
You’re going to skip Grizzco weapons? Boo….
100% thought this was gonna be about the aesthetics of the clothing gear brands lol, fun video tho
i hope you will also make a brand tier list in gear speaking way
Keep the work going man 👍👍💕
I always figured undercover and reg brella are just sorella, the funny symbols are there to represent their design and not brand cus theyre quirky
family guy intro
It feels like some weapon kits like custom spider shot Jr had just a sticker and then like October or wait no order just really cooked with it like Nintendo was like custom splash on Junior whatever but with like the order they really cooked and all in between aree good
