Hello. I have a nordyne gas furnace and I can see one vent for sure going to the roof and I think the other one is what brings in Greg air. My pressure switch is stuck on and the troubleshooting said to check the venting for debris that might be clogging it. So should I try to get the tops off to see if there are leaves or something blocking the vents?
With a gas furnace running, during a drought, what would cause moisture to come back down through a vent pipe and puddle under the unit? (This vent is fed with a liner up through a chimney and connected to a vented gas chimney cap.)
My gas furnace is currently venting to the old chimney & condensation keeps dripping down. Can I just vent the furnace through the side of house? Furnace is in utility room in back of slab ranch house.
I believe the PVC can only be used with high-efficiency, as the exhaust is much cooler. But if it is mid-efficiency or less the exhaust is hotter and will need a metal vent

Did know you should have 2 vents for the boiler room

Collin D hello i have installed a boiller without a chimney it works but it turns off when it reaches 50 degree
is it because the chimney?
I think gas is condensing into moisture.
do not cut a joist no matter what anyone says !!
So a furnace located in the attic doesn't require air from inside the house right? As long as the attic has side vents?
For the most part, an attic is considered outside. I'm not talking about some crazy foam sealed attic, just the norm.
Hello, Brian is absolutely right most attics are ventilated and do not require extra air from outside.
Correct if you attic has vents to exterior allowing fresh air in, then your correct.

Yes run the gas furnace pvc pipe out the side of the house no chimney required.
Agreeable Dragon PVC is not code and is meltable. Ignore that fools advice,,, your insurance company will NOT approve.
Yes you can vent a gas furnace outside the house with pvc inlet and out let. Just built house 2018 and was signed off for occupancy
@@ambroulard Yes pvc is used for a gas furnace inlet and out let on the side of the house what you mean not code.... i have occupancy pvc. !!
