And back then if it wasn't Rothmans or Winfield it was Craven Mild or Marlboro.

Belmore Sports ground at one stage had exclusive Rothmans advertising right around the ground. Back in the days when non smokers were the outcasts.

Unsung hero in that team was Ray Branighan. That run, inside step and pass to Rod Jackson for the try showcases Ray's skill.

Although Ray said he was always a Rabbitoh, he always gave his all in the Manly jersey and earned his success

Manly would have 3 English players in that years GF winning side. Halfback Gary Stephens and 2nd rowers Phil Lowe (who scored Manly's only try in the GF against Parramatta) and Steve "Knocker" Norton.
Goulburn born winger Rod Jackson who scored a try here, was recruited to Manly from Canterbury-Bankstown. He played 12 games for the then Berries in 1971-72, winning the Reserve Grade titles in each year (1972 against Manly). He would then spend 5 years and 62 games at Manly, winning the Premiership in 1976 before retiring at the end of 1977. He scored 3 tries in the blue and white and 23 in maroon and white.

Classic Rugby League. I still can't understand how you come up with so many videos from the past.

@@eagleeric2598 I know. You converted all those analogue tapes to digital and I guess you are still doing it. Lucky you can still keep a VHS machine running. So much work.
