I chuckled when you said your Father never used ramps. My Father would park car on the curb near our Driveway to change the oil, wasn’t till my older brother purchased ramps for his VW Bug did he start using them, thanks for bringing back good Memories for me. I still do my own car maintenance for the same reasons you mentioned.
Honestly you can do it with very basic tools. - socket wrench (for drain plug) - funnel - oil filter wrench (definitely not always needed, with a lot of cars you can reach it and loosen and tighten it by hand) - some kind of catch can for the draining oil
@@monahengramokhoro Thanks! Keep in mind there are many new car owners who don't know sh!t (like me) so things that you might think are simple - we just don't know. Perhaps a car course explained in baby steps would be a good idea to grow your channel?
every time I have taken my car to jiffy lube they always over fill it its way above the a safe oil level mark on the dipstick, but I did watch a video on overfilling your oil and to really affect your engine you really have to fill it up HIGH where the pistons are are submerged in the oil even when the engine is off. also what do you do with your used OIL?

Costco & RockAuto are my go-to's, just gotta buy in bulk
Would be nice if you listed out all the tools you used to do an oil change, you only mentioned ramps...

I would switch those plastic tire chocks for heavy duty rubber ones at Harbor Freight !

$15-20 for an oil filter? No way
This is the price for a quality one .
But you can get a medium grade oil filter that does a decent job for about $8 - $10
