My local dealer has about 20 Grenadiers sitting on the lot ready for customers. I wanted to dislike it, but checking it out IRL... they are awesome. For the price that dealers are asking for the new Toyota LandCruiser - with a four cylinder engine, street tires and 8 inches of ground clearance... you can buy a Grenadier. Crazy.
It might be worse than that. I have a Grenadier and a couple of Toyotas. The service guys at the Toyota dealership (who love the Grenadier and told me they want to service it on the DL) told me to get a First Edition LC and the mods for lift, wheels etc so it doesn’t absolutely suck, I would be “looking at $100k - easy.” That includes dealer markup - which there is none for the Grenadier. ANY turbo engine by definition is under stress compared to a NA engine. The concern is how much stress are you willing to live with as you contemplate mods or a tune.
For the USA market, a GM LS 5.3 and 4L80 would make it more appealing and dirtcheap to maintain for decades. BMW/ ZF drivetrain and Bosch components is a soon endless money-pit.
Wrong. Plus don't act like those ls haven't had bearing issues or valve train issues. A bullet proof ls is a myth. The b58 has been super reliable and detuned
Would have preferred the BMW I6 B57 turbodiesel but the aftertreatment equipment on those kills the reliability. Just bought a MY23 Ram Rebel 2500 HD with the Cummins last September, but will keep my eyes open for more on these as it comes out.
If they had a two-door option with a removable top like the original Defender, it would appeal more to me than it already is. Especially if they made a more base model with more simple materials. It looks great, though!
Had mine 6 months I dont like the steering but have gotten use to it. Kinda weird. I like mine overall. I live outside nashville and dealer is in atlanta so kinda a pain. Had a problem With blower on ac had to drive down took most of day to fix. But other than that its been fine

I'm very curious to see the Grenadier Vs. Toyota Land Cruiser videos that you and others will do. The LC looks to have a more complicated engine and tranny. But it's more powerful and efficient along with Toyota reliability. But its still a turbo. Where the Ineos is old school straight 6. Which will be more reliable? Wheelbases are nearly identical. A 4x4 competition will be needed. I will also be interested in seeing which have the most articulation. I wanted a Grenadier at first but the LC is looking better on paper.
I purchased a high end GM truck recently. The dealer service related to any type of warranty issue has been horrible. I don't understand how they can get away with how they do business.
In my area GM dealers are the best with regards to warranty service. Always handle everything easily no questions asked. I think it varies greatly by your local dealer. Some are great and some suck.
Spend your time shop around for best deal on the car your want and insurance you want , it can save your mega dollars people , and always ask for a better deal , it wont be offered by seller so insist on better price or walk away , walk away works well if youve got cash or cheque book on you , be organised and never show your happy until youve got a better deal or extras chucked in that cost big money , floor mats and light covers are cheap ask for more and a full tank of fuel to seal the deal😊 dont be scared to nag
Super customisable means more and more parts, subassemblies, and devices with unproven quality and reliability and overall a vehicle with high complexity. The result is more maintenance and money upfront and down the road.
99% of the customised items are bolt on. They do not affect any sub assemblies. Even the winch just bolts onto a pre-installed fitting plate that comes with the vehicle whether you spec a winch or not. The whole concept of the vehicle is “simple” and it is.
So for those that are giving him hate. You guys suck. He’s literally giving insight into a small world of this ownership. With that said, he did a great job. If you have a problem with the vehicle, take that up with yourselves. I’ll be honest, I didn’t like the INEOS two years ago, but it’s grown on me since. Because there will be less on the road, I would choose it over a new Land Cruiser, especially now with Toyota’s new car reliability in question. Plus the new Land Cruiser is not a looker (to me).
neighbors that make a big deal about other neighbors landscaping are the worst. mind your own business, live your own life, it's his property he can do what he wants.

Ben, my allergies went COMPLETLY away when I went gluten free. Can't hurt to try right? I enjoy your videos.
I’ve been gluten free and still get them sadly.
It’s grass
For the USA market, a GM LS 5.3 and 4L80 would make it more appealing and dirtcheap to maintain for decades. BMW/ ZF drivetrain and Bosch components is a soon endless money-pit.
Wrong. Plus don't act like those ls haven't had bearing issues or valve train issues. A bullet proof ls is a myth. The b58 has been super reliable and detuned
Love that Beast.
Would have preferred the BMW I6 B57 turbodiesel but the aftertreatment equipment on those kills the reliability. Just bought a MY23 Ram Rebel 2500 HD with the Cummins last September, but will keep my eyes open for more on these as it comes out.
Looks like your promotional video 😊
If they had a two-door option with a removable top like the original Defender, it would appeal more to me than it already is. Especially if they made a more base model with more simple materials. It looks great, though!
It does. Look up the Ineos Quartemaster.
How could you not know there are options , like the colour of the vehicle , did you buy it with a box over your head ?
Very honest views and review.
Better to have a dealership for issues like warranty work. Early on Tesla's sat for months that needed body work and/or warranty work.
If allergies Ben buy local homey, may help? I have two siblings that have the same thing
Was Land Rover Defender,
BMW 3liter straight six cyclinder
Built in France at a former Mercedes Benz car factory
I wear a dust mask and goggles when I mow... I look ridiculous but it saves me days of sneezing and itchy eyes.
Good idea
Had mine 6 months I dont like the steering but have gotten use to it.
Kinda weird. I like mine overall.
I live outside nashville and dealer is in atlanta so kinda a pain. Had a problem With blower on ac had to drive down took most of day to fix. But other than that its been fine
Nearest dealer for me is 1.5hr away. But I still want one. Since it's a BMW dealer, couldn't you just bring it to a euro shop for service?
Just can’t get over the placement of the drivers speedo … in the middle of the the dash is a let down. Every time I look at the speedo I’m looking down away from the rd, if only they had a HUD it would be ok. Cheers from Oz 🇦🇺
Dude what are you doing for the financial turn around? I want a grenedier but as a cop that’s not in my salary
Ben like your video because you explained about the any vehicle you to know
It’s a BMW parts catalogue. I really like it as a future vehicle. Someone else needed to go first.
Please don’t comment if you don’t know what you’re talking about !. The engines are BMW, errr I don’t think that’s a bmw parts bin !
Ben, that thing is just beautiful!
Come on out to vernal, I will take you on some really fun trails!
I thought this was the good review. Lots to import information. The car certainly looks very sexy. Enjoy!!!
Going to look great at the local Smith’s Grocery.
It would be interesting to see a comparison of the BMW 3.0L turbo I6 to the new Hurricane 3.0L turbo I6.
I don’t like that they only get 10 mpg otherwise I would consider one. Nice looking but make no sense when you can get a Rubicon
😂
Super customisable means more and more parts, subassemblies, and devices with unproven quality and reliability and overall a vehicle with high complexity. The result is more maintenance and money upfront and down the road.
99% of the customised items are bolt on. They do not affect any sub assemblies. Even the winch just bolts onto a pre-installed fitting plate that comes with the vehicle whether you spec a winch or not.
The whole concept of the vehicle is “simple” and it is.
I think this thing is awesome
It's a G wagon and a classic Defender at the same time for the price of a Land Cruiser.
Did you have your eyes closed when you mowed your lawn?
Fix your landscaping dude. Neighbors must love you. lol
Why bother? He just keeps parking cars in the lawn anyway....
LMAO 🤣 😂😂
neighbors that make a big deal about other neighbors landscaping are the worst. mind your own business, live your own life, it's his property he can do what he wants.
He’s too busy spending half a million on different automobiles lol!
