There is so much power in Andy's right hand that his hat jumped straight up just from him pressing his 2 fingers down in mid air at @8:08..... amazing.
To the mouthbreather that keeps giving these videos a thumbs down. I will find you and when I do I have a very unique set of skills...... I will force your mom to give you more hugs
Awesome lesson. I had no RUclips or guitar teacher when I learned to play. So a lot of my time these days is spent catching up on theory type stuff. You've helped me immensely with your RUclips content and your courses like ShapeShifter. Thank you so much Andy. Really
Andy he is so cool ... Seriously he is soooo underrated.. amazing player ... every time I listen to him I'm like wtf he is so good....great lesson . Thanks Andy
For real, maybe the most versatile guitarist I've seen in decades. Please know these episodes are informative, inspiring and also just a lot of fun. I think most like me really learn a lot from the way you present the material. Just the right pace. Great explanation and examples. Some things clicked for me on this style that I've heard before but now It makes more sense. Again thanks so much.
Great lesson again, Andy! THX a lot for all the time and effort you put into these instructional videos! And they are good fun, too! Keep on rocking! Greetings from Germany
Quality info! I'm so grateful to see this. It's a lifetime worth of fire power to help me play the wiggidy wiggidy. So many secrets unlocked right here. Saved. Thanks Andy.
I appreciate guitar players that speak and teach in intervallic language rather than fret language. Builds a much better foundation of knowing how to translate things to other instruments, and other players. Some people get stuck in guitar land forever and don't know how to articulate what they are talking about to anyone other than other guitar players.
Love everything about the 80’s! Just got my 80’s guitar 🎸 back from a stainless steel refret. Looking forward to shredding some 80’s stuff again! Awesome lessons Andy! You really are such a master of all styles in my book. Stay safe! Cheers
Another outstanding presentation Andy.Your teaching ability is just as incredible as your playing. If you ever get the chance, a video on sweep arpeggios would be cool to see. Excellent lesson!
Fantastic Andy. I'm not a "metal" player by any means, but there's a lot to be learned from this video. I'm sure I speak for all your subscribers when I say thank you sincerely for your time and expertise, and stay safe during this difficult time for all of us. Lots of love and luck from Ireland.
You have no idea how much I appreciate that you started this series man. Huge fan of your amazing playing and have been following you and Uncle Ben for a while. Thank you so much!
Pretty insane how versatile this cat is. I'd not heard of him until a few weeks ago, but he's insanely talented. Super clean, super fast, and always has delicious tones. I'd like to think that i'll use these videos for my own playing, but I know the real entertainment is watching this maniac melt faces on RUclips. Keep it up!!!
Love your Versatility,i play a lot of 70's & 80's Heavy Metal style and some Blue's but That Chicken Pickin just Blow's Me Away !!! I Love That and Watching you i'm Learning !!! Lot's of fun !!! Thank's fo r Sharing !!! Your A Fantastic Player !!!
I like this guy. He's intelligent, nice and funny, but above all that a very good guitar player.Andy you made my day.Keep on good workin'.See you sometime in another universe.
That Suhr and Ben’s cotton candy one are just ridiculously awesome! Please get Suhr to do another 80s run with some new designs like yours and Ben’s!! And awesome lesson BTW!!
Late to this party, but I wanted to say- Good, fun stuff, Andy, and thank you, sir, for pointing out the scale degrees and intervals instead of just fret numbers.
Thanks for taking me back a few decades bro! I still play a fair amount of “neo-classical” stuff, it’s just a lot of fun and my harem is Charvel/Ibanez heavy, with old Marshall’s and Mesas (no axefx for me thanks) and lots of stomps and of course,,, my jcm800 goes to 11 just in case I need that extra uhhhh, lol
I have spent so much time, like everyone, watching you grow your channel. I find your teachings very informative. I am a product of 80's hair metal and I can get through the rhythm and song structure, but when it comes to the solo techniques, I fail. I know its a matter of just slowing down and practice, but it just isn't happening. I would love to see you teach more techniques like this in the future to help us want to be shredders succeed. Thank You Andy.
I really enjoyed this lesson and I absolutely LOVE that guitar!! Noticing brands are re-releasing those loud colored 80s influenced guitars....i.e...The Fender HM strats and the Satchel Charvels.
Great work!!! Good ideas too. Been holed up and shredding away. Was actually looking for similar ideas to get chords across the frets. Until next one stay healthy yourself, cheers!!!
Hey Andy, Just got introduced to your channel via Uncle Ben. Just gotta tell you that I love everything you're doing and cant wait to dig into the rest of your material. Please keep up the great work and know that you're appreciated! Thanks for the inspiration
God love ya, Andy! Killer 80’s shred techniques there- really “raising the bar” doing those Brad Gillis whammy tricks (see what I did there?) 🤣. Keep the Woodshed kicking ass!
Holy cow! When did Keanu Reeves start giving guitar lessons online! Seriously, great channel, I just found it, and you're doing a great job teaching and explaining with enthusiasm. At this time, it's welcome.
Killer lesson! The 80's are my favorite musical decade. Could you do a beginner's guide to amps in the future? I love the type of tones in the early Van Halen records but I don't know anything about amps. I've been playing for 4 years and I'm pretty advanced technique wise but I still have the same crappy beginner amp I had when I started and I can't how it sounds anymore but I don't know what to buy and everyone just talks all this gibberish about amps, tubes and shit and I don't know what they're talking about!
First of all... that guitar: total chick magnet!!! I appreciate your vids Andy! You’re real and transparent in your style. Stay safe during this pandemic. It’s tough on musicians!
I wasn't getting the "tap from nowhere" until I tried actually "pulling off" with my right index finger, while my left index was *muting* the string, before tapping down with the left index. It's functionally the same, but worked much better with the muscle memory I already had.
Great stuff, Andy. Love your sense of humor. Toward the end of your Malmsteen piece you talked about finishing the A-harmonic minor lick out however we'd like - I'm wondering if you can break down what the patters were that you did. Please and thank you.
Andy is the guitar hero we need right now.
Even if we don't deserve him
Had to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Along with Tom Quayle and Martin Miller...to name 2 of many I could mention.
There is so much power in Andy's right hand that his hat jumped straight up just from him pressing his 2 fingers down in mid air at @8:08..... amazing.
That paint job is gorgeous and perfect for this lesson
To the mouthbreather that keeps giving these videos a thumbs down. I will find you and when I do I have a very unique set of skills...... I will force your mom to give you more hugs
Cheers Andy, the up side of lockdown is all this extra time to chill and be entertained and educated by dedicated guys like you.
You may cap on hair metal and rock guitar, but you were having more fun with this one than any video you have ever made. 80’s rock IS all about guitar
Awesome lesson. I had no RUclips or guitar teacher when I learned to play. So a lot of my time these days is spent catching up on theory type stuff. You've helped me immensely with your RUclips content and your courses like ShapeShifter. Thank you so much Andy. Really
Amazing how well you play wildly different genres, Andy. Thanks for sharing... your playing and videos are great!
Andy he is so cool ...
Seriously he is soooo underrated.. amazing player ... every time I listen to him I'm like wtf he is so good....great lesson . Thanks Andy
So awesome!!! Thanks you for taking the time... I needed this
You are the saving grace during and after these trying times Mr. Andy..... much love from Himalayas in India.
cheers my friend and crispy high fives sent your way!

Allan Harris yeah, and first I saw of Andy was him playing the mandolin at Troy Grady 😉
@@Sadowsky46 Yep I watch Troy Grady as well. Awesome channel. Watched all of Andy's stuff and others on there. Including Troy. :-)
Great lesson again, Andy! THX a lot for all the time and effort you put into these instructional videos! And they are good fun, too! Keep on rocking! Greetings from Germany
Andy your not only insanely talented but also the coolest teacher out there, thanks for all that you do for us mortals, we are not worthy!!!
Andy wood and Uncle Ben the distraction we need during the Apocalypse!!!
Quality info! I'm so grateful to see this. It's a lifetime worth of fire power to help me play the wiggidy wiggidy. So many secrets unlocked right here. Saved. Thanks Andy.
Andy, you really have a gift for guitar, but also a true talent for teaching as well. Keep up the great lessons!

Love everything about the 80’s! Just got my 80’s guitar 🎸 back from a stainless steel refret. Looking forward to shredding some 80’s stuff again! Awesome lessons Andy! You really are such a master of all styles in my book. Stay safe! Cheers
This is great stuff Andy!!! I am very grateful you made this awesome channel!!
Another outstanding presentation Andy.Your teaching ability is just as incredible as your playing. If you ever get the chance, a video on sweep arpeggios would be cool to see. Excellent lesson!
The rare combination of being an equally awesome player and teacher. Super well-presented and absorbable.

Yeah his solo stuff is really great. From acoustic/mandolin to shredneck to prog/metal it's always interesting and really melodic.
Chris Rogers yeah, Andy needs more subs for what he does 👍🎶
Chris Rogers versatile? its all music man
Him and Uncle Ben were like under the radar all these years.
Chris Rogers “delicious tones.” Really? Sounds aren’t delicious. There are appropriate and sensical words to describe sounds.
Some GIANT love! Nice!!! Those 3 albums with Dann singing are so good.
Chris Lester Dann is the king! Time to Burn!!
So fun! Thank you for making such a cool video. I really dig your playing and teaching style. You're a cool dude.
Love the way you teach the tricks are very transparent.. magnificent.. just love it.. thank you 💕✌

Most versatile guitar player on RUclips... Can't believe he's notbgot over a million subs... Amazing player... Thank you 🎸👌🏻👍🏼😊🎸
That axe is “nasty” - congratulations Suhr, you’ve done well!!
Seriously agree. I totally love their beautiful flamed and exotic guitars but this thing is about the coolest product I've seen from them in a while.
These lessons are so damn good. Complex technique explained in such an accessible way and some humor to boot. Thanks man.
Thanks Dude. it helps me a lot to close the gap between Blues and the metal shredstuff🤘
what a great teacher!!!!
Thanks Andy I love tuning into your episodes from here in Oz. You’re an inspiration and very giving with your time & knowledge. Stage safe yourself!👍🏻
You sir, have great skill...... beautiful guitar and tone.....
Very cool tapping lessons, luv the 80's shred & the SkankBanger guitar, man you got some sweet lookin Suhr amps too, pretty BadAss
Late to this party, but I wanted to say- Good, fun stuff, Andy, and thank you, sir, for pointing out the scale degrees and intervals instead of just fret numbers.
Andy's like the cool kid in the neighborhood teaching you cool guitar tricks. Your communication skills are top notch ! More power to this channel !
Thanks for taking me back a few decades bro! God damn this was brilliant. So much to practice and have fun. Thanks Andy.
Love this!! I grew up on and played in Glam/hair bands thru the 80 and early 90s...great stuff🤘
I have spent so much time, like everyone, watching you grow your channel. I find your teachings very informative. My favorite show right now :) great job!
That guitar is dripping with 80's deliciousness.

Wow! Another gem channel from youtube. Thanks, great tutorial and playing.. Subbed
Great work!!! Good ideas too. Been holed up and shredding away. Was actually looking for similar ideas to get chords across the frets. Until next one stay healthy yourself, cheers!!!

Making it sound so easy, as usual 👍
God love ya, Andy! Killer 80’s shred techniques there- really “raising the bar” doing those Brad Gillis whammy tricks (see what I did there?) 🤣. Keep the Woodshed kicking ass!
This was fun to watch. Subscribed.
Cant rule out John Sykes for King of the pick squeal . Nice lesson .
Holy cow! When did Keanu Reeves start giving guitar lessons online!
Seriously, great channel, I just found it, and you're doing a great job teaching and explaining with enthusiasm. At this time, it's welcome.

Killer playing great advice lotta fun
That is a sick Suhr. Great lesson too
Killer lesson! The 80's are my favorite musical decade. Could you do a beginner's guide to amps in the future? Andy plays like an absolute killa!
Subscribed. Love the 80's stuff! Opening riff reminds me a lot of Scott Mishoe.
You have a great command over this style its gonna take me awhile to employ these techniques.
Great Video! Thanks Andy
I can't play anything of that, but perhaps I'll try one or two little snippets ... thank you for the inspiration, Mr Wood! 🤟
I love that 80's tone Andy. Just keep up the great vids. \m/
That was fantastic Andy! Thanks!
Hi andy I have only recently found out about you and I got to be honest your playing is unbelievable you made everything look so easy
Damn that's clean
I appreciate your desire to keep the human element and not “correct” the take
Fun, tappy tap stuff,,, - Howdy from New Orleans
Great content brother. I hope the algorithm picks you up because you should have way more subs !
Thx brother, what an excellent lesson!
First of all... that guitar: total chick magnet!!! I appreciate your vids Andy! You’re real and transparent in your style. Stay safe during this pandemic. It’s tough on musicians!
Thx so much for this lesson! I´ll get tons of practise material out of it.
I wasn't getting the "tap from nowhere" until I tried actually "pulling off" with my right index finger, while my left index was *muting* the string, before tapping down with the left index. It's functionally the same, but worked much better with the muscle memory I already had.
Right color for the job 💟
Andy except the fact your a crazy guitarist your also entertaining and funny. Love your channel and your thing keep it up !
That intro. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Awesome lesson.
Another great episode.
Damn Andy, that intro…🔥🔥🔥
Great stuff, Andy. Love your sense of humor. Toward the end of your Malmsteen piece you talked about finishing the A-harmonic minor lick out however we'd like - I'm wondering if you can break down what the patters were that you did. Please and thank you.
The first tapping thing I learned outside of crazy train was your betcha can’t play this, so this brings me back a bit :) love it
Sean Ashe no way! Really? That’s rad!
Bad assed as always!
10:50 I hear that Still of the Night there...simple but one of my favourite riffs from the era :D
(watching again to try some stuff)
