Thanks, Rick! I broke my back in 3 places, my leg and heel as well as having my ankle and heel fused together. I had a beautiful swing my entire life, but the past decade has been spent trying to learn to swi g again and be repeatable, which has proven difficult. Your videos have been entertaining and motivating as well as educational. Every time i get frustrated I remember where you're playing and it's my goal to play one of those famous courses in the UK. It keeps me going. That and Alexandra O'Laughlin haha. Cheers!!!

Great video, Rick! I've used the marker dot many times. However, I've found something even better I think. I use the foot powder that you shake into your shoes to keep them fresh and stink free. I put small pile down into the grass or into a small divot so the wind can't blow it away. I then dab the ball into the powder and a small bit of it sticks to the ball. Then, as with the marker dot, place the ball with the powder where you will contact it. The powder is transferred to your club face. This really helped my ball striking after I changed my swing pattern and had trouble with knowing where the club head was. Works quickly without any fuss unless someone at home wants to know where the foot powder is!

Rick, I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos. Out of all the different people making golf training videos on YT these days, you are the runaway best in my opinion. Hi Rick I'm an 11 handicap from Michigan in the US. I've been a little toe-y this season and took your tee-peg drill to the net in my yard the past three nights, working from a 7 up to my 2 trying alternately to keep the club between the pegs and to nip the high tee with the toe of the iron. Just trying it I could feel something changing. Big coin in the grass clippings on my club face, right in the sweet spot, and after a little while the tees were mostly unscathed. On the range early this morning I was already improved, and I'm excited to take things to the course this weekend. Thanks a lot!

Great tips Rick! On the range I use two aiming sticks about 5" apart, parallel like train tracks, aimed at my target |o|. Then work from the left to the right as I take divots. This not only helps me in perfect contact on the face but also club path (and I don't have to keep replacing the tees) Your divots should be straight down the train tracks. Just remember to fill them in with sand when you're done.

Rick, I want to thank you for making your videos as interesting and informative as you do. I used to golf a ton when I was younger but I quit golfing for nearly a decade. I started golfing again about 2 months ago. Ever since I've picked the clubs back up I have been habitually watching your videos. I play an average of 45 holes weekly and spend several hours each week on the driving range. Your videos have helped me hone my skills so much! My first round back to the game I shot a 98 on a course that was 71 for par. After watching your videos and practicing what you've taught, I have been consistently shooting low 80s. Last week I managed to finish just 5 over par with a 76 (my lowest score since returning). I wish I lived closer to your academy because I'd love to take lessons from you. Your videos have been a huge help and I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your time and knowledge! Thank you so much!!!

  • @thomasross1285

I find that the most important thing is knowing iron design. The perfect strike is on the 4th groove of the sweet spot. The shaft has to have min. of 4 degrees forward shaft lean. If the shaft does not have lean it strikes the lower section of the ball on the lower grooves. If you have at least 4 degrees of shaft lean the ball will be struck at the center, at about the 4th groove with a descending strike. This can be established at address & offset will also have an effect on ball position. Leadbetter makes this crucial in the address set up.

Thing is mishits are normal, no one can hit the middle of the clubface every time, but as long as you strike ball first ground second with irons, and have a consistent shot pattern, your ball striking is set.

When I tee a golf ball up I can hit it clean with a consistent strike pattern, but as soon as I move it onto the grass my strike pattern is very inconsistant and my divot is often before the ball or where the ball laid to rest, and tip for fixing this?
