Excellent job Alex on explaining the correct ball position and how to hit down with the hybrid. Since becoming a "senior golfer," I have learned to love my hybrids. I have been carrying a 3 & 4 hybrid and am now considering adding a 5 hybrid to my bag. I do use the ball position you are recommending and I play the club like an iron. Well Done Alex! Keep Up The Good Work!
Thanks for the tips Alex, will definitely be trying this out in tomorrow morning's comp. I have been guilty of getting the ball too far forward in my stance.
Tried one About six years ago and loved it went out same day and bought one but now that I’ve turned 80 my set consist of one through six cobra hybrid, seven through pitching wedge Adams A30S hybrid I believe that older golfers should Give that set up a try I think that I they would have a lot better success at scoring it’s not main line advice, but it works scoring is the name of the game, isn’t it?
Thanks Alex. I love my 5 hybrid when I connect with it cleanly. I think this video will be super helpful in getting more consistent contact and ball flight. 👍🏻👍🏻
hello Alex I have just received a full set of wyzaki hybrids just getting back into golf after about 8 year absence. please give me your thought on how to use these new clubs. thanks Rod
I have a 32° 8 hybrid, it's one of my favorite clubs, and I hit it 140-145 yards. Middle of the stance or a ball forward of middle works perfect for this club, it comes in high and has little roll.
Wasn’t this the question about your video explaining the open or closed stance with irons or driver, but for the the woods and hybrids? What about the open/closed stance with woods/hybrids? Could you please add this information to your great videos? Thanks!
Great Alex, always impressed with your yardage with all your clubs but you never mention your speed, could you give us what is you drive speed and 7 for example ? I guess around 110mph for the drive no ?
@@AlexElliottGolfis the swing circle more like an iron or a driver? Since irons have more of a vertical steeper swing than the driver going around with the turn.
Hi Alex, nice instruction. Hybrid always been ok off the deck my issue comes with 3 wood ( off fairway) where I resort to a slight opening of the stance and alter my normal in / out swing to an out / in . Any other suggestions how to achieve a solid consistent strike? Thanks John
I hit hybrid once today and had it inside heal like a driver.. I wanted a bit of left to right keeping it low was my thought process... Boom swing stopped hands short... Topped it 50 yards. Didn't get it back outta the bag 😅 I made a 10 on that par 5...ruined my round. I needed this vid yesterday.
@@AlexElliottGolf slowing down on the backswing definitely helped. Turning my left foot a little out and pulling my right foot slightly back didn’t help me much.
Alex excellent demo. I would prefer my way !!! 😂😂 Which is : off the tee or floppy lie ball forward and anything else more towards centre. And Alex kindly convey my regards who invented these clubs !!! These clubs are never disappointing ❤ 😅😅😅
Question, how do I better judge my distance. If its 100 yard to the green then I'm fine with a PW and usually hit the green. Anything closer is an issue for me.
Tee the ball a little lower, just off the inside of your left heel, and make sure your right shoulder is angled lower than your left shoulder. Driver is supposed to be an upward swing angle; and if your left shoulder is lower than your right shoulder, you’ll hit down on it like an iron and the top of the driver will catch the bottom of the ball and shoot it up.
Gday sir, I am looking for a drill, to consistently get the hand to square the face up with my fairway woods, to kill the slice. I am after something I can practice to form a habit, if you got anything. Many thanks
Alex, I am getting older 65 now, and just started to bring 5 wood and hybrids into my bag. I have a baby draw on my 5 wood and irons but when i hit my hybrid even with the weight set at fade, it is a severe duck hook from the deck. If i hit the hybrid off a tee, no real issue from the middle of my stance. I have tried every position forward, back in stance, they all result in big hooks. Any suggestions?
Would you please check your grip for me Pete! Make sure your not To palm up on the Non glove hand and also not showing more that 2 1/2 knuckles on your glove hand!!
@@AlexElliottGolf Interesting question. I checked my driver grip first. 3 knuckles on the left hand and my palm is facing up. I hit my driver straight my miss is low pull hook. the hybrid grip is more like two knuckles on the left hand and palm facing up but not as much as the driver. the v's formed by both hands way right of my right shoulder. when i checked my swing path it was definitely going left of the target line. I have a trackman session tomorrow night so I will work on releasing the club to the right of the target line with a weaker grip. I tried my brother's 7 wook (pxg 0211) and i have the same duck hook shot.

I want my 4 hybrid to run a bit for sure otherwise I would use my 5 wood/fairway metal.. im probably absolutely wrong but I was figuring higher ball flight with the 5 and stop quicker vs the 4H .. i don't really know to be honest 🤷♂️🤦♂️🤷♂️
Alex, thanks for the lesson!!! I was way off with club position. I am hitting them much straighter. Thanks so very much.

Hi Alex,Thank You for the lesson. Can this technique be used for fairway woods too?
Those are some great tips Alex. I will definitely hit down next time to see the difference.

That is awesome!

My hybrid is off set, Calloway Big Bertha (Reva). Its a 30*. Where do you think that should be played?
i’m not 100%
Just bought the G430 from Ping… face is so closed… almost difficult to hit! I had to tweak it flat to have some good results…
Can you do this for ball position of fairway woods
Yeah i try and cover this in another video straight away
When I rest my hybrid behind the ball the face looks open. Is that correct?

I have one, how do we fix à "pull" with irons? I have a clean impact, but it always goes left of the course....i dont understand hahaha

What about a 2 iron hybrid?
Sorry, are you asking whether you can use it?
These are the only clubs i can hit lol. I have a ping 20° i hit 225-270. 1wood, 75 yrds lol
I feel you, bro. 😂
I'm basically forced to tee off with it because my driver is so bad
No matter where I place the ball, I never take a divot after it. There has to be more to it than placement.

It’s a tutorial man, talking is a good thing. Ever tell a teacher to talk less and just do the work on the board? Explaining and talking is key.
