‘Chin on the shelf’ is a wonderful set up thought. It might just be me but a sweetly struck 3 wood on the par fives is one of my favourite things in the game. Lovely stuff, thanks Danny.
This works so well. Adopted the chin on the shelf posture and have had some sweet 3 wood strikes today and yesterday. Makes the par 5s so much easier when I can get 190 carry.
Great video Danny. Many thanks. I'm afraid the man in the bunker would have a headache for sure if I was hitting that shot. When I play I just can't keep out of them.
Danny, you have the most perfect stance and arc. The best of any instructor on any other videos I have watched. You make every part of golf look so easy. Love your videos. 🥰
Watched this video this morning, really clicked the head on a shelf part. Went out and played flamborough head for the 1st time and shot my best round ever, 6 over 77, 9 shots under my 14.7 handicap. Cheers Danny, keep them coming.
Danny’s my favourite instructor on RUclips - so clear, so helpful! Been trying to get in touch to organise some lessons - still waiting to hear back, and I sent my request back in 2021!!! 😂 popular guy!
Amazing videos Danny! I've been watching you for a couple of months now and have been able to drop from handicap 45 to 24 while using many of your tips during range sessions! So many game changers after I felt being stuck with certain mistakes
Just finished my Saturday morning routine: first, had an espresso, second watched Danny's new Golf video. Lovely and helping stuff as always, thanks Danny from the parking lot guy 🙂

So glad to see your tips again. I don't know why I stopped getting them, but there you have it. At least, I got to see this woods and hybrids tips. Cheers, Danny!
My golf swing and golf play in general has got way better over the years watching your videos Danny. From 110mph ball speed with 3-wood a few years ago to now over 160mph.
Thanks Danny, excellently presented, been following you from the start and your tutorials are second to none. I admit a lot of them don't always relate to my game, but nuggets like this one come along now and again and I can relate to them. Fully deserving your massive following. Off to the range shortly to put this into practice!
Visual cues with easy reminders (chin on shelf, fish tail) and how setting up the swing arc plays into presenting the correct loft were most useful. Had to subscribe and eager to catch up on the rest of the channel!
I love this video. I don't usually use 3 wood because it is so difficult for me to hit the ball with 3 wood. But I should try it again the way 'chin on the shelf' you showed. Thanks a lot!!
This is a great piece of instruction, I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong with woods and hybrids and look forward to trying these tips out on the range. TY
"The fish's tail," is probably the best, most basic eye-opening thing that's turned a light on for me in my hard headed golf brain. That just makes so much sense when you think about it like that.
Danny, You are the Pro who presents instantly useable advice. As such, your videos make a difference in how We Your Audience perform. I thank you for that. One addition I'd like to see is an occasional playing lesson in which you play a round, or half a round, or a representative set of holes and go through your decision process for each shot and give alternative shots for we less gifted. An alternative version could be when giving a playing lesson you play 2 balls from where your student hits it, one like you would play it and one like he/she should play it then your student tries to replicate your recommended shot.
Just subbed Danny after watching a few of your videos, my game has gone to the dogs this past while nearly to the stage of not looking forward to going out on the course.. Overthinking, bad habits and bad advice being the enemy.. You've cleared my head of a few of those bad habits and executions.. All from simple advice and demonstrations.. Going to practice one at a time and looking forward to it.. Thanks 👍👏👏🙂
Someone told me recently that imagine you are sweeping the floor with a broom as you pass over the turf. Flattens out the swing and keeps you from dipping or jabbing at the ball. Your tips are excellent as well. Love the chin on the shelf concept.
This explains why I’m best with a 5 wood. I’m a natural grazer. Always struggled to take a divot. The 5 doesn’t require it. Shoot, I need to work on my long iron game big time. Awesome video.
Great video Danny! I struggle so much with my hybrid off the fairway. I’m confident this will help! One thing I noticed is how you keep your head behind the ball at impact as well. Thanks for sharing!
Very good image to work with - your images work so much better than the difficult-to-use technical data other RUclipsrs suggest. Here's a suggestion for future topic. Consider a straight line from left shoulder to ball. Under that line the arms and club shaft form the other two sides of a triangle. Very slight changes in the angle between the arm line and the shaft line will make an enormous difference to the length of the line between left shoulder and ball. In golf terms slight changes in that wrist angle at impact will make all the difference between an ait shot, top, great contact or a duffed shot. Question for many golfers - what should that angle be and how to control it?
Danny, took this to the range and the course yesterday. I found this approach very helpful, especially the fish tail. It works best with an easy rhythm. Pulled left if I got aggressive. Thanks!
Danny, reviewed a chipping video you recently put out where you discussed using the “fish tail” approach there also. I had almost immediate success with this approach for fairway woods but more work needed on chipping and pitching….too many “fat” shots. Question: would you recommend the fishtail approach for ALL clubs? Any adjustment other than ball placement to stance?
Spot on as usual! I'd rather be 30yds short but in the middle of the fairway, than pin high but 30yds off in the rough!💥 By moving to a more conservative, but focused approach I'm knocking points off my WHS Index.
Thanks Danny, presumably the same technique for 5I and 4I too although this video concentrates on fairway woods and hybrids. Love to see a video on long irons not only off the deck but especially for long par 3 tee shots ⛳️👊. Good job missing the green keeper in the bunker too 🤣🤣
Hi Danny, great advise as always, On using the most difficult clubs in the bag, i don't hit my 3w due to fact , i just got a 5w and 7w to replace the 3w and fill the 14 club spot in my bag, hopefully this will help now i,m getting older , I look forward to your video each week, as always easy to understand explanations with great content,

Well done Danny iv gone to hybrid long clubs instead of a 4 or 3 iron back in the day I had 1 n 2 irons in the bag but as we age it gets harder lol 😊 well done Danny as always 👏
Hi Danny, The one thing I struggle with on all clubs is my low point is always below my sternum. In the last 40 years it has always been the same. That and I have been told I have lazy hands. When I close the face for the draw I get shanks with still pushing the ball right of target. Taken many lessons from PGA pros. They keep pushing the ball forward outside the front foot , at 62making me really struggle to even get to the ball, adding loft to every club.. Now all of my iron clubs are playing between 65 yards with a PW to 120 yards with a good 6 iron. Playing ladies clubs even. I'm starting accept I can't hit anything longer than a six iron anymore...Thanks for the videos Danny!!
Being 72 yrs old I should move up a tee box but I’m stubborn. However half of par fours I play, I need to hit a 3wood or 4 utility. I have to hit it pretty much perfect. This video was really helpful in striking the ball more solid and getting more height on the ball. Many thanks!
The chin on a shelf tip is (i think) also a great tip for a shot from a fairway bunker. It keeps stopping you hit down on the ball and make you more sweeping it away.
Fantastic video. Fairway shots are my most stressful. I either chunk or top the ball. To make matters worse, my left leg is shorter than my right due to a severe fracture 40 years ago.
I have for years left my hybrid in the garage and not in my bag. This is because I always failed with it. I will now blow off the cobwebs on it and give it a go on my next game. Maybe this afternoon weather and wife permitting. Thanks for the tips, Danny.

@@DanielMaude No, your subtitles are fine, I was trying to be funny but obviously failed miserably. I knew exactly what you were saying. Great video, again.
Great video. Playing the ball that forward, I tend to hit behind the ball or my fairway wood is on the way up as it hits the top half of the ball producing a worm burner. Would also like to see fairway wood shots that aren’t on a level lie. Down hill, up hill and side hill.
