I’m a visually impaired woman and retired social worker in Germany. Telling a disabled person that s/he is not “really” disabled - implying s/he is faking/malingering - constitutes ableism, i.e., behaviour expressive of hostility and contempt for disabled people.
So does talking to a non-disabled person accompanying a disabled person instead of talking to the latter him- or herself.
So do all those intrusive/invasive pseudo-questions (as I’d call them) that Toby has rightly criticized in a number of videos.
So do backhanded compliments about being “inspiring.”
So do comments like, ‘If I went blind, I’d top myself‘ (or some other version of that message) .
Ableist behaviours in everyday life are a manifestation - one among others - of the stigmatization of disabled people, i.e., the latter’s inferior social power position. Stigma may prevent those affected by it from even psychically perceiving ableist (or racist or sexist) boundary violations as what they are.

I can see perfectly and I know for certainly that how someone looks is not the only qualifyer if I consider someone attractive, it is just one component so I just assumed that blind people just went by all other qualifiers rather than looks. Good is that I have really nice skin so I wonder if this make blind guys more might find me attractive when compared than it make other guys find me attractive

I think what they mean is because toure your blind they dont understand how you experience the world around you this is difficult for sighted people to understand

As a blind trans non-binary person who is queer and polygamous, I find this really interesting and agree with what you said. I love your videos and it’s interesting to see someone else’s life as a blind person and your thoughts.
