People can't imagine living a life different to their own. People say the same stuff to wheelchair users - "whats the point if you can't do x". Its ridiculous, there's so many ways to enjoy this beautiful world!

Their logic if it’s kind is you sitting in a room. Us President Donald trump thinks disabled people would be better off dead. These comments are almost too reflective of a persons true belief about the value of living with a disability. These comments made by people with views like this are incompatible with any form of healthy society.

Seeing this genuinely made me tear up a little because this is so thoughtful and sweet that she did this so you can still enjoy advent calendars!

Easier said than done but 90% of comments on social media are sad little pissy pants who always find something to complain about because they’re unhappy with their life, best not reading them or giving them any thought. Also negative Nanncies are much more likely to leave comments and you don’t see the thousands of people who didn’t comment but loved your video so you THINK everyone hates it but it’s just that you only see what the miserable gits have to say about it. Seriously, people need to look into a mirror and reconsider. (And sorry, most of the idioms concerning introspection involve vision-related terminology.) People who think that only a visual experience is worth experiencing, have never experienced a landscape in full. Imagine a full souq in Maghrebi city - the scents of fruits, spices, roasted meats, fresh bakery products, natural perfumes like jasmin or rose oil, or myrrh; the sounds of echoing steps, spoken languages, people of different ages, a coffee mill and the scents of freshly roasted, ground, and brewed coffee... the warm air, the heat coming out of a bread oven, the breeze coming from an open doorway on the seaside, the wall of unmoving, hot air in the middle of a crowd, the shoulders accidentally brushing against you and the muted apology in Arabic. These people have no imagination, and live their lives through the flat screen only. ❤ Definitely do enjoy your travels!

I heard something helpful the other day. Imagine you have £1440, and somebody steals £1 off you. Are you going to spend the rest of the money trying to get that quid back? Of course not. Well, there's 1440 minutes in a day. Don't let some arse hole who ruined one of those minutes take the rest of the day from you too by staying mad about it.

Also, do these people experience life through only sight? What about hearing different voices, smelling different plants, tasting new treats. Experiencing all the tactile elements of place. Like, ok, seeing new things is great but it's only one part of the experience of a place. 🤨

I worked with a blind lass from Yorkshire she used dictation software and used to go skiing- she got the train everywhere. Told me she used to make click sounds like a bat to “see” where furniture was in a new room

I'm fully sighted and have crippling depression and anxiety find it hard to enjoy anything. The fact that you have this extra hurdle and still have such a wonderful attitude, and enjoy the beauty of your life is an inspiration. Many people are ignorant, but many people can't begin to imagine what it would be like, and so I think they pigeonhole and dehumanise sometimes accidentally, sometimes willfully. By their logic, when the only thing worthwhile on a holiday are the sights, what's the point of going on a holiday? You can just look at photos of pretty much anything on your phone nowadays. So much cheaper. Such a relaxing, fulfilling experience. And you can do it every day!

Ok so I hope this doesn’t come across as insensitive or rude. I’m curious about you making memories. When I remember something I see it in my mind. Sort of a reply in soft focus. Do you do the same thing, do you make up an image the matches the narrative, or something really obvious I haven’t thought of. I know smells and sounds can tigger memories but they trigger images of things I have seen. How does it work of you haven’t actually seen the occasion you are remembering?

I'm legally blind and not everything has to be experienced through the eyes. We can still taste, love, feel, laugh, cry etc. The ignorance of some people is shocking
