This was a nice idea in theory. I followed your instructions and couldn’t login to my steam account and the clicker was so fast it was impossible to login on my Quest 3. I tried and kept failing steam login. It was awful. Finally ran out of time and gave up. I hope other people this works for, but the time it takes to simply login into to steam vr sucks, couldn’t do it.
Yeah, I mean it’s not the services fault because AWS charges them 50% of that but I’d still recommend saving up for a gaming PC. It is a cool service though if you want to try out PCVR gaming one weekend.
Thank you so much!! I've been worried about doing all this and screwing up but your vid was easy to follow. I wrote it all down and about to get started. Thank you!!!
I just wanted to thank you for making this video. Im actually playing half life alex on my stand alone quest 3! Ive always wanted to play it but i thought i would never get to. I. Trying to think of some other pc vr games ive always wanted to play like subnautica. But i heard the vr port isn't good at all. But im really enjoying half life alex. Its amazing. Thanks so much!
@AndysVrReviews do you think you can make a video on explaining how to play subnautica with all the new mods using this set up that you recommended? I watched some videos but they didn't explain it like you did so I don't know how to do it. And they were not using this cloud pc set up also..
@@AndysVrReviewsyo if you can respond is it ok to put it on Virginia because i live in bosten but it doesnt let me put the pay as you go and just says not available in your region
Don't you also need to install the Meta software to use a Quest with Virtual Desktop for this? Does it have persistent storage or do you have to re-install everything every time like with Plutosphere?
How is the latency when using vr for this option. I travel a lot and this seems like a great tool to play on the go I just dont eant to deal with horrible stutters and bad latency. I know it deoends on your Internet connection but like ball park is it truly worth it for vr.
Yeah, it should considering their system requirements. Just make sure you have quality internet and a ping of less than 20ms (it will show you on the Stim website before paying anything or starting up your machine)
I like this but: Now i have to pay 30 for the game i want,20 for the desktop and on top of everything i have to pay for playtime 20 just for 12 hours is annoying I get it thst they need to pay their servers but i believe they are doing this on purpose cause there's no way that they can't find an alternative payment way
The company has to pay Amazon for their server whenever someone uses the service. It works good for some people, some people have issues. It depends on your location to the nearest AWS server and the quality of your wifi. Before you pay anything you can check your latency on their website. If it’s under 20ms you should be good. I’m not affiliated with the service at all, I don’t get a commission or anything, I’m just letting people know it’s a technology that’s available because I think it’s cool.
@CodyStrange_10 I used the 1080ti but I would highly recommend the 3090 if available. It will be the difference between “well it runs” and “it runs great”

@@soulkingVR02 yeah but Labworks only has the campaign, and 2 SB maps. While BW is, well BW

I thought the quest 3 has its own virtual desktop features. cant i just use stim io through a browser without getting virtual desktop?
Don't you also need to install the Meta software to use a Quest with Virtual Desktop for this? Does it have persistent storage or do you have to re-install everything every time like with Plutosphere?
Will this work with games from websites other than stram?

VTOL VR here i come!
Ffrrrrrr
I have a question? Did installed games remained on server pc or I have to install them every time I want to play
If it’s anything like plutosphere, you’ll have to reinstall every time unless maybe paying for the expensive tier.
I tried it and ditched shadow pc for it. Worked great for a week then had unplayable lag. I might go back to shadow.
My mic doesn't work when I play vrc
Hi! Everytime I log off and login I have to reinstall everyhing on that shadow pc. How can I save my stim pc?
Does this still work
Will THE PLAYROOM work?
I thought that was just a PlayStation VR game? I’d check out the recommended specs on the Steam page.
So do u got to have a computer then?
No, it could all be done from within your meta quest browser
no but you need to own steam and steam games which you wouldn’t have unless you own a pc, so yeah actually you do lol.
@@slidaa8613 you don't need a pc to buy steam games, there is an app mate
@@slidaa8613no you can get the games off a tablet or phone

No it doesn't support vr titles

I would rather pay the 30$ a month to have unlimited access then to keep having to spend 20 just to have 12 hours. I feel ya, it is very annoying
Will ALVR work?
It didn’t work for me but I didn’t really mess around with it at all. It’s probably possible though.
Same here with the giveaway i have a mac and would like to play steam vr games
Bro this actually sucks because why would I need to pay for a app to run this like what if it doesn’t work

Will gtag work?
People have been known to get banned for using cloud gaming servers to play Gtag but it will technically run it.
Holy shit! I have to spend so much money
god can’t someone just fuckin pirate all this shit cmon man. alr got pirated java MC on my quest no side load. surely it’s possible.
Lmao😂 gonna wait till i can just stream them free. (Sits down n waits.)
what about fps in the games?
The fps on the cloud pc will be good definetly but due to streaming to Vd it may vary.
It depends on a lot. I wouldn’t use this for a multiplayer first person shooter but most games are playable.

you said you dont need a gaming pc...yet to use virtual desktop you need a gaming pc with a powerful graphics card...
