You forgot about the PCVR stage, when players get excited to play PCVR Games such as Boneworks only to see that thier PC isnt VR-Ready and haves 2 fps.
It does, boredom stages always comes no matter what you're doing. The thing is that with flat screen games, if you get bored in a game, you can just buy and play another one and there is a lot to choose from. However, for VR games, there isn't a lot to choose from after a few months or so, when you've already played most of the good games. But I do agree tho, playing with friends can dramatically delay that and it did for me. Until my friends got bored of them...
Yeah, but instead it’s replaced by the nostalgia stage where all your friends left and you just keep playing just to have a fraction of the fun you used to have.
for me, my "boredom" stage was more of a forced break for almost a year due to my headstrap dying. Comeback hit harder than playing for the first time, skill increased, jumped right into Sidequest also, and now I'm pretty sure I'm at my peak enjoyment

Im at the last stage, but I never left vr. I found my passion when buying the quest 2 exactly 1 week after it's release and I have about 1200 hours on standalone and maybe like 1700 hours on pcvr.
I actually asked myself that same question but in the end I ended returning my quest 2. It's like you said it's in the baby stages so there's not that many good games out and all the games are expensive. For some reason most the games feel like they should cost like 5 bucks or be free but end up being $20 or $30.

Because it will ruin your battery life, I should, I had my quest 2 since 2021 and it last no longer than 30 minutes now, mostly because I charged it to 100% or just stopped using it.
I have been playing vr for years, I started with a google cardboard, then a better phone vr, then to the old oculus go, which is where I started getting intrigued and when the original quest came out just 2 months before my birthday, I begged everyone in my family to just give me money for my birthday to get one and when I got my hands on it, my entire vr journey began with me spending over 1500 hours on the first quest, and started getting a little tired so I heard the quest 2 announcement and sold my quest 1, and took about a 6 month break until I got my quest 2, then I started over again with all the new games, and started with PCVR, sidequest, self modding, making a few (very shitty) games myself, and even got to a point of taking apart the internals and putting it together with better parts for better performance, then again I played all the games I could with more then 2000 hours on the quest 2, and again sold it around 3 months before the quest 3 released, and fast forward to 1 week ago when I decided to go out and get and finally get a 512 GB quest 3 while it was only $500 instead of $650 and now I am back with unlimited more games, a better PC, more money, more time, and more freedom and I am finally back to playing every day, until I inevitably get bored yet again, and I plan to move to haptic suits, crazy accessories like the treadmill, and playing more PCVR games, and it is truly a journey, and even a lifestyle
the thing different about my stages is there is no boredom stage because 2 of my other friends have quest 2s and we play together every day doing something new, also i don't have a pc so no sidequest stage either. So Basically, instead of a boredom stage it’s the friends stage.
a game i really like is called Grab VR and its really social and keeps you up easily with a good community you can play player made levels make your own or just hangout with other people and its the only game that has kept me from the boredom stage and keeps me happy when im not with my friends
As someone who’s bought 2 quest 2’s I’ve never bought a single game from the shop. VRC has been my standalone game that’s been constantly pulling me back in for like 3 years. LOVE IT!
for the blurry vision thingy, please, if you have minor astigmatism or any sort of light blurryness, dont worry too much. I did and i literally have 0 problems even tho i do have those things in the day to day
Right now, I'm in my "comeback" phase. I haven't had my Quest 2 since last New Year's. I'm eager to get that feeling again, with new endeavors... such as PCVR. I'm also in another phase I like to call the "Lights off in front of the PC on my bed with the brightness turned up" phase.
I’ve had a VR for 4 years now. I’ve been on and off on multiple occasions. Here are all of my favorite games between breaks: Beat Saber (Break) Gorilla Tag (lasted for 2+ years, then quickly realized how horrible it was) Break And currently, it’s literally any horror game
Just ordered a Quest 2 for 278 including tax, I have 20 free games and 5 bought games on my oculus app and 9 free sidequest games ready for when it comes and my 40 dollar accessory bundle just got shipped in too. i feel like I skipped to the sidequest stage already and that i'll be a pro in only a month at this rate
Vr is also not only bound to games only, you can watch 3D content on it and play some unreal engine games with an injector, vr gets more and more interesting quite quickly when you start exploring your options with it.
I went straight to hacking/modding, and sideloading. I don't view the quest 2 as a "gaming console" as much as I see it as a virtual computer environment. With the FB messenger call and cast feature it makes showing people websites and media SUPER easy. No OBS virtual cam required.

The headset has pretty much been through hell and back at this point and just refuses to die, i got a fairly high end PC with an RTX 3070 to use for VR and its fantastic, love playing some Payday 2 VR or half life alyx lol.
I use the index but I think it applies to it as well lol. I’m forever stuck in the “comeback” stage as I’ve had my years of playing countless hours in VR but nowadays I always come back to it once in a week or two, I just can’t have enough of how incredible vr is and since I’ve got a new beast pc it is even funnier to play
I took a 6 month break and I came back yesterday😂
0:30 most games on consoles cost way more than quest and if you can buy a $300/$500 dollar headset you can buy atleast 4 or 3 games on the quest without breaking the bank
you mean 0:18?
@logofficial1926 No, he says in the video that buying games are extremely expensive even though games on steam and console cost like mostly $60/$50 dollars and somtimes even higher
1:12 what’s that game
5:36 i let my grandpa use my vr because i thought it would be funny seeing him trip out but instead he wouldnt let me have it back💀
i personally have slightly different stages
stage 1: opening the headset
stage 2: playing the tutorial games and pre installed apps like youtube vr
stage 3 play a few free games
stage 4: download beat saber
stage 5: mod beat saber
stage 6: grind beat saber
stage 7: grind beat saber
stage 8: grind beat saber
stage 9: grind beat saber
stage 10: grind beat saber
yknow im in the grind beat saber stage atm, I hope I can get to the grind beat saber stage though
lol how much hours do you have on beat saber? I think i got like 850 lmao
@@MrEnderman420 i havent checked in ages tbh, I think around 200-300ish but I took a year long break lmao
this is exactly the same for me except with boneworks
mine probably consists of
in order
-beat saber
-vrchat
-bonelab
-quest link
(problematic)
-virtual desktop
-my friend is now a furry degenerate in [vrchat (only)]
...
5:46 epic rollercoasters was one of my first vr games when i had a gear vr (i remember putting old people to play they screamed so loud that the police got into our house)
huh
@@kaysarinclmao
Hey pls.reply.mister... is quest 3 worth it.over 2? I.got a two..
1:00 they remade a version of this in vrchat and its not as good as echo vr but its certainly not as bad as you think, its definitely fun to play- Gimbal arena is what its called
I'm currently a pcvr player but I started with a quest 1 and already had a list of games to buy
This is actually very accurate, and entertaining.
thanks!
The whole "none of your friends really have vr" is funny to me since I got a quest _because_ my friends had it
🤓
What’s the game on 1:13
Watched this video a few months after I got my first headset, and then again now, over a year later. I couldn't agree more with these stages. Especially the boredom stage. One good way to fix that is to have someone you can play VR with(Doesn't have to be someone you know irl, can be anyone you meet in VR)
Been using VR ever since the Oculus Rift came out. Went through all stages multiple times haha
Nowadays I mostly just develop for VR games and don't play as much, but that goes for all games
I have gone from the boredom stage to the comeback stage way to much-
*Rec Room left the chat*
I know
It’s so mid in my opinion
Good
I just got my quest 2 for christams 4 days ago, and I love Blade and sorcery :)) But can anyone tell me if the motion sickness goes away or gets better? I get motion sickness from jumping or by walking in game... :(
it gets better, you just gotta get used to it. for me, i was lucky enough to never feel motion sickness from vr
4:44 I’m in this stage.. but how do you download sidequest
Im at the last stage, but I never left vr. I found my passion when buying the quest 2 exactly 1 week after it's release and I have about 1200 hours on standalone and maybe like 1700 hours on pcvr.
🤓
I actually asked myself that same question but in the end I ended returning my quest 2. It's like you said it's in the baby stages so there's not that many good games out and all the games are expensive. For some reason most the games feel like they should cost like 5 bucks or be free but end up being $20 or $30.
you forgot the stage were your sibling obliterates your headset...
Yeah uh just wanted to ask
Do you need a pc for steamlink or just an account
Cus i dont hqve a pc and dont wanna buy one
1:35 what game is that?
Idk
@@leafymybel0vedthen why did you reply
Half life alyx
@@leafymybel0vedpeople like you who reply idk are horrible people

0:13 Turn it off for the first time?
'you turn it off for the first time'
???
Currently on the comeback stage but this have been soooooo accurate so far
what was the last game with the tank? that was in the content creator stage?
question what is the first game you showed in the obsession stage it looks fun
1:13 game name and price
No😂
Ghost of tabor maybe and 25 don’t take my word for granted tho
Green hell, probably 30 dollars
@@clean4lesspa130since other people wont answer lol
Green hell $29.99
who played saints and sinners and totally didnt get jumpscared
Yea totally I do have the game to btw
yeah! i have saints and sinners and i totally didn’t get jumpscare at all! totally didn’t pee myself
I think these 10 stages may be you're 10 stages, but not everyones. What about Population 1, thats free. Also quest games are cheap compared to console game prices. Ive never even dowloaded gorilla tag, I loved echo arena though. Ive really enjoyed population 1, beat saber, until you fall, compound and loads of other games. I mainly use quest for PCVR games like HL alyx and racing sims. Nice vid Thanks
Bro I know, quest games are dirt cheap compared to console/pc games
Yo what was tank game for a split second where you were driving??
1:19 what is this survival game called, actually looks hella fun. Also I had the quest 2 when it first came out, enjoyed games like echo vr, and Pavlov shack when it was free. Is there any way at all to get echo vr again. (I had my last quest 2 for a few months, had to sell it. Just bought another one about a month ago.
Green hell
this is pretty accurate, even for people like me who started playing vr with the rift way back in 2016/2017 (wonder if I would be at a different stage cause of how long I have been playing) good video
Thank you
wheres the sycopath era from the blade and sorcery era
Psychopath*
0:04 🤓☝ actually I buy my headset for my money and I work hard to buy meta quest 2 cause I gigachad, and I'm not a little whiner who whined to his momy to buy me a meta quest 2
You typing this tells me you begged your mom
I hope this is a joke
@@Rat_bug maybe, maybe not
@@Spooder0 🤓👆erm actually the chances of this being a joke according to my calculations are higher than the chances of it not because of the nerd emoji and the use of brainrot
@@LockPick-g2b💀its a joke.
hey, what font did you use for the subtitles this video?
seems you have not expirienced the stage of dealing with the rage inducing oculus link software. for me its been ceasing movements but still showing the screen every 5 seconds( cant move or do anything but can still see the game is still running fine) and the fact that it has to be on the same drive as your windows install( on my pc atleast) and you somehow just dont have space for it
Why shouldn't you charge it to 100?
Because it will ruin your battery life, I should, I had my quest 2 since 2021 and it last no longer than 30 minutes now, mostly because I charged it to 100% or just stopped using it.
4:40 what vr game is that?
Are the games more expensive in America or something? All the games I see are like £10-20 at most usually
I have been playing vr for years, I started with a google cardboard, then a better phone vr, then to the old oculus go, which is where I started getting intrigued and when the original quest came out just 2 months before my birthday, I begged everyone in my family to just give me money for my birthday to get one and when I got my hands on it, my entire vr journey began with me spending over 1500 hours on the first quest, and started getting a little tired so I heard the quest 2 announcement and sold my quest 1, and took about a 6 month break until I got my quest 2, then I started over again with all the new games, and started with PCVR, sidequest, self modding, making a few (very shitty) games myself, and even got to a point of taking apart the internals and putting it together with better parts for better performance, then again I played all the games I could with more then 2000 hours on the quest 2, and again sold it around 3 months before the quest 3 released, and fast forward to 1 week ago when I decided to go out and get and finally get a 512 GB quest 3 while it was only $500 instead of $650 and now I am back with unlimited more games, a better PC, more money, more time, and more freedom and I am finally back to playing every day, until I inevitably get bored yet again, and I plan to move to haptic suits, crazy accessories like the treadmill, and playing more PCVR games, and it is truly a journey, and even a lifestyle
whats the game at the start of obsession stage please tell me
the thing different about my stages is there is no boredom stage because 2 of my other friends have quest 2s and we play together every day doing something new, also i don't have a pc so no sidequest stage either. So Basically, instead of a boredom stage it’s the friends stage.
1:00 Orion drift is a work in progress game that is very similar to echo vr and gorilla tag. You should do some research on it!
a game i really like is called Grab VR and its really social and keeps you up easily with a good community you can play player made levels make your own or just hangout with other people and its the only game that has kept me from the boredom stage and keeps me happy when im not with my friends
BRO I HAVE LITERALLY GONE THROUGH EVERY SINGLE ONE IN A WEEK
What game is it at 5:03?
What was the game on side quest with the tentacles??
As someone who’s bought 2 quest 2’s I’ve never bought a single game from the shop. VRC has been my standalone game that’s been constantly pulling me back in for like 3 years. LOVE IT!

what was that game playing in the background at 1:20 looks cool
for the blurry vision thingy, please, if you have minor astigmatism or any sort of light blurryness, dont worry too much. I did and i literally have 0 problems even tho i do have those things in the day to day
1:29 game name in this clip?
At the very start in the buying game stage, what was that cool survival game called?
What game was he playing when he was first talking about the obsession stage? 1:32
Any chance of using another collective noun than 'bunch'?
6:40 i know i shouldn't charge my headset up to 100. but i forget to and then it sits there for 2 weeks and it still is fine
4:25 what game is this?
what game is it at 1:12
4:24 what game is that
I’ve had a VR for 4 years now. I’ve been on and off on multiple occasions. Here are all of my favorite games between breaks:
Beat Saber
(Break)
Gorilla Tag (lasted for 2+ years, then quickly realized how horrible it was)
Break
And currently, it’s literally any horror game
Just ordered a Quest 2 for 278 including tax, I have 20 free games and 5 bought games on my oculus app and 9 free sidequest games ready for when it comes and my 40 dollar accessory bundle just got shipped in too. i feel like I skipped to the sidequest stage already and that i'll be a pro in only a month at this rate
so i bought my oculus used for $110, is that a decent price? i’m debating on selling it tho idk
Vr is also not only bound to games only, you can watch 3D content on it and play some unreal engine games with an injector, vr gets more and more interesting quite quickly when you start exploring your options with it.
Blade and sorcery is my fav but my first vr game was beat saber on the Quest 1
dude blade and sorcery is amazing and its about to have a major update with plenty of new content im excited dude 1:53
Yo what’s the name of that survival game at the end of buying games chapter
I went straight to hacking/modding, and sideloading.
I don't view the quest 2 as a "gaming console" as much as I see it as a virtual computer environment.
With the FB messenger call and cast feature it makes showing people websites and media SUPER easy. No OBS virtual cam required.
