thank you guys so much for the support on this video this just proves that hard work pays off and gives me more motivation to keep going I'm just not sure where to go from here I thought I might so something completely different, also thanks to the people in the comments giving additional information that I missed
I bought the quest 3 in the first month on my birthday, I’ve been keeping up with the quest line of headset and while I think the company behind it meta still not being the best that they can be. I will not argue that they don’t make a good headset. It has genuinely been one of my favorite headset and within 2023 and 2024 alone I’ve put the most money away towards VR experiences and haven’t been disappointed at all along with the jump from 256 to 512 really being necessary with some of the bigger games that have been added to headset
Ikr I was watching thinking that this video was great and thinking this guy must have a lot of subs but I looked and I couldn’t believe he has so little.
Love it when the algorithm decides to hand me a solid video from a smaller creator. Quality content! Also, seeing some of the old headsets (and the associated video footage regarding them) took me on a brief back in time... Thank you c:

I had a dk2 and it was amazing! It pushed me to start investing in bigger PCs and then purchased rift s, quest 1, 2 and pro. I now use VR daily for more then 10hrs for work and entertainment.
Fun fact about the Samsung gear vr, probably a good reason why it has sold loads of units is because it was heavily used in many vr experiences (due to the fact that it was so cheap) like in zoos, malls, or quite notably theme parks, as some years ago there was a boom of theme parks putting vr headsets on coasters to augment the experience and the headset of choice was often this one. Although as you may notice that was only a fad that lasted only a few years due to the unreliability of the headset when used this much and the obvious hygienic problems, but one park ( Thorpe park in the uk ) did build from the ground up a ride that use htc vive headsets instead, but this wasn’t a coaster but instead an horror dark ride, and it too last year was completely changed, and amongst the changes they removed the vr headsets.

Oh they changed the thorpe park one? I will have to go there again and see what it is now. I tried the VR one there a few months after it opened and it was honestly shit. And the 3 hour queue was the rotten icing on the cake. The experience was boring, the vr videos were short, hard to see and just bland. Not scary at all. Very good summarized and made very well.. VR user since cv1 and from then owning every quest headset.. It's been a journey.. And I still love seeing Vr evolving. Now with an additional serious player like Apple and it's AVP we are transitioning to a new phase of XR with more ecosystems coming together..
This video is really cool!! Very straightforward and concise, even though there are some little important details missing from each headset, but it's good enough if you want to know the very basics of the Oculus headsets line, nice work!

Love to see an awesome video essay on VR coming from a small creator and blowing up! Should easily reach 100k views, congrats! I'll sub! Just a few critiques on the numbers - Quest Pro sales figures are under 100k units, definitely not 1.1 million. Quest 3 sales are 600k+ based on the number of players the included quest 3 mixed reality game. Meta's stock price is currently at an all time high, so that name change bet seemed to pay off. Really good video, enjoyed it! I heard about Oculus Rift when it came out but it was too expensive for me at the time. Today I own a Quest 3 and I also owned a Quest 2, best thing about the Quest series is that you know that they will provide software updates for a long long while, it's always exciting to see what new feature you're going to get, it's like it becomes new all the time!
Amaze VR and a couple of other games that never made it to the quest, really made the oculus go shine. Gear VR was prone to overheating and had bad controller drift, but it did have colour passthrough, which was a nice feature.
I like that you actually talk about specs and lack of specs. Most other videos that try to do similar comparisons, ultimately lack the editing and quality to get this information to the user in a concise and effective manner. It would take 20 minutes to cover what you do in a few slides. Keep it up!
Great video, some slight corrections on the games shown to have come out when the quest 1, 2 and pro did. Pop 1 came out slightly before the quest 2 did, and all the games shown for when the quest 1 came out were never available for the quest 1 as they were PC only or came out after the quest 2 did and were not supported, pretty sure most of the ones listed when the pro came out were available for the 2 originally but i might be wrong. The 3 have some overlap anyways so it doesn't matter anyways tho

honestly with the rift s and quest 1 situation i think it was already decided what was going to win, i feel like they purposley made the rift s worse just so they could switch to stand-alone vr with the excuse "well the quest sold better so it must be standalone vr that people want".
Great video! Subscribed! One key feature that the original Quest had that the 2 and 3 lack that you didn't mention was an OLED screen. While the screens got much higher res with the 2 and 3, they switched to LCD screens which lacked those deep inky blacks and better contrast that the original Quest had. With both the PSVR2 and Apple Vision Pro using OLED screens, I hope the Quest 4 goes back to OLED.
