It’s a self fulfilling prophecy. Since there’s not many people into VR, there’s not a lot of money to get developing VR games, lead to less and less people interested. HL Alyx and lots of these high quality games are a product of passion I’m sure, they’d have made much more money making non-VR games

That doesn't apply to quest ! it's starting to become the default platform for VR. Batman for one is a great exclusive that just released, maybe game of the year, it has 4.7 stars on the store, there is also into black, contractors showdown (also available on pcvr), Arizona sunshine 1 had a remake, blade and sorcery released version 1.0 with crystal hunt ( a full compaign ), there are also two big games released at the end of last year Assassins creed nexus and Asgard's wrath 2 both are good. So i don't really agree with you, i think things are actually moving, and it's not over with Alien and Behemoth dropping before the end of the year.

Re4 is the best re in vr in my opinion. Simply because of the game play. It’s still scary but you can do more than just shoot. There’s perfect perys, finishers for stunned enemies, stealth kills. Noticeably different animations for attacking certain weak spots. And probably other stuff that I’m missing. Anything less just feels dull now.

No Battle Talent is a crime. It has a good modding community with an ingame mod menu, Blade and Sorcery like combat that gives an actual challenge that is physics based, a lot of weapons have special abilities and there is a lot of spells, you fight things like skeletons and goblins, it has a arena sandbox, a rougelike mode, a progression based mode, and a multiplayer in beta phase. Available on all platforms. This game fits like 3 of these categories.

For sim games I'd personally split racing and flight sims. For flight sims my picks would be IL2 Great Battles for WW2 air combat and DCS for cold war to modern air combat.
    For racing games:
almost all serious racing games support VR so it's basically up to what you want to race, iRacing has the best multiplayer experience but is expensive and on the more serious end of the spectrum (intentional ramming will get you banned), the recent F1 games are pretty fun (though I'm not the biggest fan of their physics and driving feel) and for rally you've got D.R.2 or EA WRC.
All PCVR because that's where the best sims are.

    • @DeFausti
      @DeFausti Месяц назад

The best rally sim in VR is still RBR, and it's 20 years old and free lol Otherwise yeah iRacing is the most serious sim for multiplayer racing, but LMU is great and Raceroom is underrated

Hey Matteo! Thanks for this great list. I'd definitely recommend these titles. I have played so much VR in the past few years and I would say that I don't really feel immersed anymore unless I'm playing a horror game. That being said, FNAF Help Wanted 1 is my favorite VR game of all time. I did have to look up some strategies because it is pretty hard (but I enjoy hard games.) It is so much scarier than the second one, but there is just so much content, horror, and enjoyment to be had I would definitely recommend trying it out. You're gonna want to grind out every level in that game as it just keeps on serving new levels. Also I would recommend the DLC which leans more into enjoyment but still has its horror aspects.

Mixed-VR/AR game recommendations would be nice too: Bricktales, Bomber Drone, etc.

Beat Saber absolutely owns the first rule of video games; easy to learn difficult to master. Super simple interface, no buttons or joysticks and the high end difficulty is so high it's practically impossible to rate.
If they had Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd music packs it would be perfect.

@garrettferrell6821 I would probably throw my shoulder right out to Creeping Death!
Not yet, but the Queen pack has Stone Cold Crazy and it's not much different than Metallica's cover. Just James singing instead of Freddie.
Says a lot about a song when Metallica covers it and doesn't really get any harder.

If you have Beat Saber on PC, you can easily mod the game and get access to community made songs. I'm sure there's plenty of Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd content out there on the modded side. I've modded my Beat Saber and it's awesome. To the point where I literally never buy the official packs anymore. Overpriced junk in comparison.

I think you should add games that have their desktop and vr version built in the same game. Games that you can start in desktop mode or vr whitout paying more. Like No mans sky, the forest, elite dangerous... All these games that are really fun to play both ways.
Also one category that can be included is the Asymmetric VR games. Where desktop players can play with VR players. There is a bunch of these. Def Davigo is the best one so far

Great reviews of allot of different games. I am a PCVR gamer and use a Quest 3.
How would you rate Myst and Riven puzzle solving games? The graphics details of both games are amazing in VR, and like I said we are just solving puzzles with an underlying story line. There is really no fast paced action in Myst and Riven - mainly search and solve.
I do have Half life Alyx, into the Radius 2 VR, No Mans Sky VR, and Hubris VR. There are some other interesting action games but waiting for a sale price on STEAM.
I also have older DOOM, QUAKE, and Woflenstein games in VR. Surprised that they look and work pretty good in VR
Thanks for your video. Take care.

Blood and Truth and Astro Bot Rescue Mission were amazing! A couple I might add to a 'Best of VR' type list, but not sure what genre they would fall into would be Vail (Non free-to-play competitive shooter?) and Trover Saves the Universe (Humor? Platformer?).

Did I blink when you mentioned "Ghosts of Tabor"? It's a game in a genre I want to get good at, but lack the willpower to push myself in to standing up and raising the heart rate. Maybe when I get a sweat proof face thing for the new Q3 I'll trust the process more, but until then there's loads of options listed almost mentioned too quickly for me to note down.
Edit to add a comment about "The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners" - I have it my Steam playtime is 20 minutes so I guess I don't do horror VR well at all. That was the Rift S days with the cable I could trip over or rip out when standing up. Now with the Q3, Virtual Desktop and a better router I can get wireless speeds between the headset and PC for PCVR wireless gaming at the same speed, which from my experience with Half Life: Alyx is bloody awesome. I just need to train myself to now remember I can turn on the spot when I need to instead of using the controller direction.
Also to note that there's a Steam VR Update in the works that will allow for hand tracking in games. I haven't yet tried it out and it's currently on Beta but it is coming and that will further the immersion of PCVR.
