Robinson: The Journey should make it into the top 100. It's on Cryengine, if you edit config file, you can run it in current gen resolution (looks amazing), and the game feels like AAA title. You can scan all the animals and dinosaurs (and check info about them in kind of a pokedex), there's climbing, some simple puzzles, and you can play with your pet dinosaur. Voice acting is also pretty good. Unfortunately PCVR controls were made specifically for HTC Vive, but community bindings make it playable on other headsets - only turning is inconvenient (you need to move your joystick to left and then from left to right to turn right - in controls settings pie chart continuous works the best for this).

And as far as I know, with the "Budget Cuts Ultimate" one-large-story bundle, even Budget Cuts 1 has smooth locomotion. It's not the same and significantly simplifies some of the puzzles and definitely the fighting if you do get spotted. But at least in Budget Cuts 2, I actually enjoyed the free locomotion option.

Just can't agree with putting Asgard's wrath above HL: Alyx. I know everyone has their own opinion but I find the polish and immersiveness of Alyx untouched by anything else.
Half life alyx is just an extremely solid, borderline perfect game. Kinfa like Fullmetal alchemist, it's hard *not* to like the game. Many game's may do stuff bettee than half life alyx(immersion gun feel progression ect) but while it may not be the peak at any one thing(except polish it's genuinely better than even horizon) it does everything extremely well. Basically, every AAA title SHOULD strive for that level of quality.

I love Vader immortal but I played it on psvr1 and in the video it said that it was only on pcvr but I understand that ranking a 100 games is not easy. Also nice list.
Surprisingly a lot of PSVR2 titles in top 20, or at least multi format with PCVR . I think it really shows games on PSVR2 are quality over quantity. Especially now there is very little game development on PCVR. Its such I a shame PSVR2 gets such negative press. But I agree HL Alyx, Lone echo and original asguards Wrath are some of the best VR games of all time. Thanks for this as i'm sure so many hours went in to making the list, it as appreciated.
The problem with psvr2 is a massive lack of sales. 99.9% of the games will be ports moving forward. Even the re4 remake didn't sell enough copies to justify working on the vr version
Thanks for the great list of games!!! I have most of them since I have been playing VR since CV1... haven't needed to get a PSVR headset.. Will save this video if I need some help to remind me how good all these titles are!!! Great Job!!!
Lone Echo 1 & 2 are definitely my favorites. Pretty solid list! I haven't played all of these games but even if I disagree on the order all the ones I have played are very good.
I wish Sony would port Farpoint to the PSVR2. I never had a PSVR1, and it's like the ONE game that I'd really like to play. I'd definitely buy it if they ported it, and it would actually get me to use my PSVR2 for the first time in months.
I know survival isn't your favorite genre and wasn't sure if you were including VR exclusive titles only in this list, but Subnautica absolutely belongs. The storytelling, graphics, and sound design (even though it is now slightly older) are incredible. Sure, it requires a mod to correct minor issues in VR, but it's fantastic nonetheless. I have it in my top10 easily.
This a really useful and well thought out video! I’m glad I found it and I hope more people get to see it! As for my number one title, is Project Wingman!
Does anyone else realise how seamlessly he transitions through the list? matteo?..for the narration do you type it out first or do you do bits and stitch it together? either way.. dang man.. he could be a good sports commentator. aprreciate the quality and loving the list!
Every time you make one of these, I have to watch it in chunks and write down a list of games that I still haven't played yet. This year, I want to get to "The Gallery 1+2", "Iron Man VR", and "Legendary Tales". Those Top 10 are all amazing games, and very much worth playing. Even if some nitpickers might sort things somewhat differently, those games are definitely a great experience and well worth the time and money.
really enjoyed the video. Kinda surprised Orbus didn't make the cut for it. Maybe because there aren't really many MMORPGs? You should give it a try if you haven't.
Surprised that 7th Guest VR didn't make the list. One of the best puzzle games I've ever played. It is pretty new however, so maybe you hadn't had a chance to check it out.
Nice to see Journey of the Gods mentioned! Challenging combat is a bit laughable to say for a game that is incredibly basic and easy for its combat and enemies lol. Fun game tho
Great video. Looking at the list it makes me understand why I am not as excited for VR as I used to be. I really don't see that much interesting. If these are the 100 greatest games, then there is room for improvement. Resident Evil 7 on PCVR???? And I have to say our gaming tastes is waaay different in some areas, but it would also be strange if we agreed on everything - but kudos for giving Vertigo its time to shine! Walkabout Mini Golf and Red Matter 2 were both placed waaaaay too far back. Again great video. Totally un-necessary, but I had time to burn.
You should cover spatial video recording, and streaming. With devkit it has been working and would be nice to see this covered as it really could be a game changer for the quest 3 and a new form of streaming. Record IRL videos for 3d, share them or watch someone play a vr game in a vr-esque point of view.
I consider Lone Echo to be a masterpiece and one of the best experiences I've ever had in life and in gaming. I heard the 2nd was riddled with issues though and has a lofty graphics requirement so I never played it after finishing the first game. I might need to take another look. Since Sony are being gimpy regarding PSVR2, I hope the companies that PSVR2 exclusives games that were multiplatform, decide to port it to PC etc as well, because Resident Evil 4 remake, 7 and 8 being PSVR2 only really bothered me.
Someone help me understand. I hear PSVR2s biggest downside is that it doesn't have a good game library. People often counter that argument by saying it has over 200 games and they still have purchased games they haven't had time to play yet. At this point, the people claiming the PSVR2 has no games say they mean not enough high-quality games. But this list seems to disagree with that too. So, is there an issue with games for the PSVR2 or not?
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 That makes sense. I guess I don't care how the game was made, I care about the experience. I think GT7 and RE 4 remake are ports, but they are better than almost anything else on the platform.
Nice Content Sir. Any recommendations for a lover of Resident Evil 4? Thats the one I keep playing. What I liked about it was the long story, fast first person action and slow puzzle sections.
I hope you make top 10 th for genres, but enjoyed this list and you have give me things/games to set on my wishlist but noticed a lot of zombi-games in there(not my genre) My #1 game is F1 23 (based on the hours i played it in VR )
Solid list except for all of the resident evils. I've never been a fan of any of their games and to put several in the top 20 is insane. I also feel like asgards wrath is just a safe choice that everyone uses.
@@Noahrino Everyone has their own tase I guess. For me personally, the idea of playing H3vr ranks right below hitting myself in the thumb with a farming hammer.
Lone Echo 1 and 2 are my alltime favorite VR Games, but I agree with them and Alyx and Asgard's Wrath being in the top 4 together. Theyre so close, that its hard to decide. As for games I think should be mentioned... I dont know if Id put it in the top 100, just because its a super short game at about 3 hours long, but if it was longer, it would definitely rank high. Defector. Its a visually impressive game with an interesting story, and a variety of gameplay mechanics, like dialogue interrogation, FPS, gambling/cheating, high tech gadets, puzzle solving, etc. Overall, a very fun game.
Puzzling Places and Lego Bricktales are both fantastic, and great examples of games that are impossible on flat screen. And that's after having tried to play Brick Tales on a flat screen with every possible control scheme.
#1 is for me is iRacing (PCVR), which is the ONLY reason I bought a Quest 3. I'm amazed by the gaming ecosystem I'm discovering now because of it, but if I could only play iRacing with my Quest 3 and my wheel and nothing else, I'd buy it again.
Thanks for the list, though I miss having the scores on the games. Is it because games moved round, so the list would be weird with an 8.1 being higher than an 8.5? I know this is asking a lot, but would have been awesome if you could have elaborated why games climbed or dropped.
The Moss games are my favorite VR games. Currently playing Max Mustard and loving it! I keep hoping that Meta will port the Lone Echo games to the Quest. I think a Quest 3 could do it Justice.
So im sure a lot will say HL Alyx will always be no 1. Personally I think it's higher that Asguards wrath 1&2, which I think should not be bundled together. It like bundling race car with a skateboard. AW1 was awesome, deffo my no.2 after HL Alyx. AW2 although impressive for quest has not pulled me in and i've found it hard to continue with it as I find it a bit boring. Egypt seems to repetitive unlike the norse realms of AW 1. But as you say it's all subjective. It would be nice to include some racing sims like iRacing, AMS2 and asset corsa, they are off a lot of peoples radar who are not sim races. But AMS2 can be played with controller and is very accessible. more like GT7 skill level. Nice Vid
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 Each to their own, I know you love it and thats great. But I really havn't been able to get in to it to be honest. Its not just graphics, I don't like the combat as much as the 1st. (I think the combat in until you fall is better than both) Also I don't particularly like the Egypt setting as much as the norse mythology of the original. Also I got to a game breaking bug about 10 hours in that stopped progression and I couldn't continue, and I really didn't want to start again.
@@GameJunky513 Me too, and a RTX 4070, Quest 3, T-LCM load cell pedals, TH8a shifter, T300, open formula wheel and Next level racing cockpit. I love the GT4 series, racing at zanvoort today. Ive actually got too addicted to it and have to set time limits. I can easily do 5 hours a day and have no social life. I tried em all AC, ACC, AMS2, project cars, dirt rally, F1. iRacing is best for me, with GT7 in PSVR2 for more casual fun as the sport mode is really competitive.
Great list but I think some some be added. Madison VR, blood and truth, wipeout, Tetris effect, propagation paradise hotel, 7th guest and crossfire. Thanks

@coolmacatrain9434 yes you can play any pcvr game on quest 2 or 3 via airlink, virtual desktop or steam link for steam games. Revive is a 3rd party app
No man's sky at 49 is a disgrace... Yet, makes complete sense. No man's sky is easily my number 1 game of all time and the reason I got into VR. But.... is really divisive. "I hate this game what's the point" or "This game is a complete universe in VR" The 50ish spot makes sense. 👌
I have sunk a lot of time into NMS, but it's 'wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle'. Sure, there's 80 quadrillion planets, but the game just isn't very deep. It probably deserves a bit higher in this list, though.
@crayroot26 Most games are as wide and as deep as a refreshing glass of water. Hello Games, refills the puddle two or three times a year for free. Plus when you are playing, you feel like you have an ocen of water to run, jump & splash in. The only game that is deep and wide as an ocean is real life.... 😧😱😖.. That's why most play VR.. Life's too big.😉
You are absolutely right! AW2 would have been a real VR Masterpiece - if Occulus Studio would have designed and released it with modern graphics for PCVR - like the first titel! The mobile version will be in 1,5 years (with the realses of the Quest 4) totaly outdate, because AW2 is designed for the Quest 2! I played AW2 with my new Quest 3 (because of the excitement for the new Hardware) but after one month the game cant hide its "low polyness" anymore ... after that i was blown away as i started Lone Echo 2 - i had totaly forgotten how much better PCVR has looked already in the passt.
Oh, so you're saying its graphics was not totally outdated by release already with its 15 yo PS2/3 graphics? that's already a lot of respect I wouldn't expect from a pcvr fanboy
@@VRnamek No. The Quest 3 was new, the first wireless experience exited, the game free, the desert well chosen for the low poly Quest, and the game mechanics very smooth/enjoying :D ...after one months I couldn't ignore the missing Details anymore. As you might know, Dungeons of Eternity is number one for me, but I still need to try Legendary Tales. Also, totally different types of games, Racket Club and Puzzling Places are high on my list too.

I'm surprised Table of Tales isn't mentioned more often. I love it!
I love Vader immortal but I played it on psvr1 and in the video it said that it was only on pcvr but I understand that ranking a 100 games is not easy. Also nice list.
I love these lists every time they come out, great job!
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 At least it gets ports & multi platform, totally understand 1million headsets ain't enough to develop titles
Thanks for the great list of games!!! I have most of them since I have been playing VR since CV1... haven't needed to get a PSVR headset.. Will save this video if I need some help to remind me how good all these titles are!!! Great Job!!!
With the PC VR adapter for psvr2 on the horizon, this was exactly what I was looking for. 10/10
I can’t wait to play HL Alyx with it, though I’m upgrading my pc at the moment to be ready too!
Lone Echo 1 & 2 are definitely my favorites. Pretty solid list! I haven't played all of these games but even if I disagree on the order all the ones I have played are very good.
Fantastic! I’m a Newbie Here but This Review is Top Dollar. Thank You!
Anytime but this is last years video. Checked the pinned message for an update
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 Ok it Computes. Thank You!
I wish Sony would port Farpoint to the PSVR2. I never had a PSVR1, and it's like the ONE game that I'd really like to play. I'd definitely buy it if they ported it, and it would actually get me to use my PSVR2 for the first time in months.
Great video but I'm surprised at the lack of great sports games like Eleven Table Tennis, Racket Club, and Premium Bowling
@lukevenable356 this is last years video, some more sports games made it into the updated one
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 Thanks for the reply! I'm not seeing a newer version on your channel though 🤔
42:10 resident Evil 7 VR hasn't been released for PC .. it's only on PSVR1
Typo
Does anyone else realise how seamlessly he transitions through the list?
matteo?..for the narration do you type it out first or do you do bits and stitch it together?
either way.. dang man.. he could be a good sports commentator. aprreciate the quality and loving the list!
I dont write anything out. I just record and edit as needed
Such a waste that we never got lone echo on quest
really enjoyed the video. Kinda surprised Orbus didn't make the cut for it. Maybe because there aren't really many MMORPGs? You should give it a try if you haven't.
I really failed to enjoy it
Surprised that 7th Guest VR didn't make the list. One of the best puzzle games I've ever played. It is pretty new however, so maybe you hadn't had a chance to check it out.
I only played a little bit of it
Thx a lot for this!
Your just mental! I love it!
I really love vr racing games. Maybe you could include some of those next year?
Only if they're the best
Nice to see Journey of the Gods mentioned! Challenging combat is a bit laughable to say for a game that is incredibly basic and easy for its combat and enemies lol. Fun game tho
Some of the bosses can be a bit to handle
Great video. Looking at the list it makes me understand why I am not as excited for VR as I used to be. I really don't see that much interesting. If these are the 100 greatest games, then there is room for improvement. Resident Evil 7 on PCVR???? And I have to say our gaming tastes is waaay different in some areas, but it would also be strange if we agreed on everything - but kudos for giving Vertigo its time to shine! Walkabout Mini Golf and Red Matter 2 were both placed waaaaay too far back. Again great video. Totally un-necessary, but I had time to burn.
RE 7 is on PCVR thanks to the hard work of the modder Praydog all RE Engine games are vr supported on pc
Blood & truth was the first vr game i played that i loved. Very old now as was on psvr1, but was a great story driven shooter
You should cover spatial video recording, and streaming. With devkit it has been working and would be nice to see this covered as it really could be a game changer for the quest 3 and a new form of streaming. Record IRL videos for 3d, share them or watch someone play a vr game in a vr-esque point of view.
I hope Metal Hellsinger makes it in the video next year
Love these long videos😃👌👍🏼👏🏼
I personally didn’t like asgards wrath 2, but I liked the list!
any good coop vr game that could crossplay with quest 3 and psvr2 ?
After the fall is pretty much the only one that comes to mind
Just cleared up my schedule for the next 50mins.. lol I hope too see you in the video. The games are cool too see as well I guess
I show in every video but this one
I consider Lone Echo to be a masterpiece and one of the best experiences I've ever had in life and in gaming. I heard the 2nd was riddled with issues though and has a lofty graphics requirement so I never played it after finishing the first game. I might need to take another look. Since Sony are being gimpy regarding PSVR2, I hope the companies that PSVR2 exclusives games that were multiplatform, decide to port it to PC etc as well, because Resident Evil 4 remake, 7 and 8 being PSVR2 only really bothered me.
Lone echo ran without issue for me both revive and airlink
after all this time space pirate trainer is still my favorite follwed by Arizona sunshine series
I think there is an issue because psvr2 mostly has ports.
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 That makes sense. I guess I don't care how the game was made, I care about the experience. I think GT7 and RE 4 remake are ports, but they are better than almost anything else on the platform.
legendary tales is the game that got me into vr and i think its underrated.
i was just waiting for skyrim VR.. thanks for this video
My #1 is Blade and Sorcery for sure
If there is any star wars fan out there the Outer Rim mod is a MUST
Great video. I missed this kind of videos by you (that’s what made me hit the subscribe button) You should make more videos like this 👍👍
As of lately, been playing a lot of Miracle Pool locally in mixed reality.
Nice Content Sir. Any recommendations for a lover of Resident Evil 4? Thats the one I keep playing. What I liked about it was the long story, fast first person action and slow puzzle sections.
Besides the other re games maybe Propagation Paradise Hotel or lies beneath. Neither are exactly the same and both lower budget
No Eye Of The Temple, L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, or SW Tales From The Galaxy's Edge?
Tales from galaxy edge was mid, was a shame h3vr wasn’t mentioned
I felt the scores were a bit too arbitrary overall
The Moss games are my favorite VR games. Currently playing Max Mustard and loving it!
I keep hoping that Meta will port the Lone Echo games to the Quest. I think a Quest 3 could do it Justice.
I dont think the random game engine they use plays nice with the Quest
Compound, Song in the Smoke, & Jet Island weren't in this list?
Incorrect
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 They all are? Man, I'm bad at paying attention then.
Nice Vid
Asgard 1 though only has the advantage of graphics. Everything else about the 2nd is better
I bought a cockpit wheel and pedal setup just for iracing. Worth every penny. Best sim racer I've played to date and I've played them all.
Thanks
Madison vr came out way after this video. Cross fire was a huge disappointment for me
44:41 and again, Lone Echo isn't on PC, it's Oculus rift and rifts only.. it isn't on PC
That's pc and it's playable on any pcvr headset via revive. I've played all of these games on an index. When I write Rift people get confused
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 Can you play Lone Echo 1 & 2 on Meta Quest 3 via Virtual desktop with it? I've never heard of Revive? (I'm not doubting you, I just haven't heard of it) is it an official app or some kind of mod? I'd love to have a go at Lone Echo 1 or 2
@coolmacatrain9434 yes you can play any pcvr game on quest 2 or 3 via airlink, virtual desktop or steam link for steam games. Revive is a 3rd party app
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 Thanks for the reply!
No man's sky at 49 is a disgrace...
Yet, makes complete sense.
No man's sky is easily my number 1 game of all time and the reason I got into VR.
But.... is really divisive.
"I hate this game what's the point" or
"This game is a complete universe in VR"
The 50ish spot makes sense.
Very well done man i wouldn't change a thing around at all! Love the content!
Im with you, I cant get in to AW2 after playing AW1 just before release
Oh, so you're saying its graphics was not totally outdated by release already with its 15 yo PS2/3 graphics? that's already a lot of respect I wouldn't expect from a pcvr fanboy
@@VRnamek Maybe you please rephrase, Im not sure what you are saying. I'm just saying I enjoyed Asguards wrath 1 more than Asguards wrath 2.
@@VRnamek No. The Quest 3 was new, the first wireless experience exited, the game free, the desert well chosen for the low poly Quest, and the game mechanics very smooth/enjoying :D ...after one months I couldn't ignore the missing Details anymore. With PCVR Graphics the AW would have been the best VR Game ever made and could have brought a lot of people over the years to VR! ... so nearly no one will touch this massive VR Game in only 1,5 years with the release of the Quest 4 :-( ...it's a real shame!
Great list! but i think blade and sorcery scores a lot higher now after their end update !
Automobilista 2 is a VR racing title that shines. It is more simulation than arcade.
Golf+, Walkabout, Vader Immortal, Elvan Assassin
Modded fallout 4 vr can be pretty good the vanilla game has issues but you should try modding it apart from that i agree with the list
As you might know, Dungeons of Eternity is number one for me, but I still need to try Legendary Tales. Also, totally different types of games, Racket Club and Puzzling Places are high on my list too.
Resident Evil Village in VR was the best gaming experience of my life.
Bro I'm sorry to leave a second comment but damn this was so helpful I really appreciate it I just got the asgard's wrath to mediquest 3 512 GB version and I don't have pcvr or a gaming PC or console. I heard something about Shadow PC being pretty good but what are your suggestions. I have good internet speed
I haven't had great experiences with streaming vr games like that, sorry
I can't belive its already been a year since the last one of these videos.
Asgards Wrath 2 is truly brilliant. I don't care about the graphical downgrade, everything else about it is just a great time.
The Climb 2 is severely underrated on this list imo
Crazy how many great psvr1 games there are. Sony couldn't be bothered to put one iota of effort into porting these games to the new hardware. Sony did psvr2 customers dirty.
They should be ashamed.
This really came down to the devs not thinking it's worth it
RE7 with the PCVR Tag is kind of insulting, since capcom gives only official VR support for PSVR
It's an error
The modder Preydog has made quality vr mods for all the RE engine games on pc, check it out if you want to play RE 7 in vr on pc it's there
I play it on pcvr praydog mod and still better than psvr1.the motion control make a big difference
I agree with Farpoint, and its crazy that is still is only on the OG PSVR.
Man, i wish RE4 and RE8 weren't psvr2 exclusive. RE7 and RE4 (Quest version) were two of my all time favorites in my 40+ years of gaming.
