Finally a "top vr games" video that describes the flaws of all these games, I'm so tired of some people not facing the fact that a lot of VR games are really bad. There are some gems out there, but good vr games are much more rare than regular games. Of course, moreover there is actually very good games on this list! Thanks you!
Le-gen-da-ry!!! Man, this is gonna be one expensive video for me, with so many cool games I have to buy. ;-) Seriously though, thanks so much for putting in the amount of time you definitely have!
I really appreciate all the work and time you put into this. For someone like me who knew nothing about VR until my bf decided to get a headset, this was a great place to start looking for some great games!
I definitely disagree with some placements, but this was a great list for those looking for games, and plenty of games in 8.0 and higher could easily become someone's favorite depending on taste and interests. There were a few appealing games I hadn't even heard of, must have taken a while playing these and putting this together.
I’m watching this video and the steam autumn sale just dropped. I thought I had wishlisted a lot of games since getting VR last week but you sir have seriously added to that list, thank you!
Thanks for the great suggestions, but I was shocked that Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades wasn't on the list. It's easily my most-played VR game to date and keeps getting new content!
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 The new user onboarding admittedly sucks; you basically need to go through a Beginner's Guide on a wiki or RUclips. The gunplay is fantastic though; the most satisfying mechanical firearm interactions I've ever come across. There are also a few game modes now where you're fighting against AI enemies (which are all hotdogs). Take and Hold is my favorite, but the Rottwieners is real fun, too.
Great video, it’s a wonderful guide for newcomers and a chance to pick up stuff I’ve missed so far. If I can make a recommendation, try Into the Radius! Its basically stalker in Vr, I must have more than 100 hours in it. Once you get past the initial jankyness of it there’s a real gem underneath.
I've been playing Skyrim since it came out. I've put easily over 500 hours total into the games. And where Skyrim VR is concerned I've got to disagree with you, it's a TOTALLY different experience and one I really enjoy. In fact it's quickly becoming my favorite version of the game. Yes there are plenty of bugs and the graphics arent insane but to put myself into the game and interact with the world blows my mind. Skyrim is one of my favorite games of all time and to play it in VR is awesome. Both new players and returning players MUST give it a go. You will not be disappointed. (Doing magic and shouting is honestly so cool)
Excellent video as always. I really enjoy your rankings and appreciate your consistency as a reviewer. This is a really underrated channel in the world of VR. Keep it up!
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 God damn nice job then, your explanations are accurate, concise, and fair and have good transitions/segways! I suppose it comes from your experience?
A video like this but without all the PCVR games would be nice. Some of us only run VR on the headset. Personally, I find running most PC games with VR isn't worth all the hassle with the constant bugs, having to constantly upgrade and update software, drivers, mods, cables working/not working. I have 95% fewer issues just running games on my OQ2 so it would be great to see a list of the best games just for that. I think it would appeal to a wider audience as well because more people can afford just the VR than VR plus a 3 to 5 thousand dollar gaming computer.
Was waiting for Cotractors to show up :( but regardless this is the MOST indepth list of VR games on the youtube. I did not expect an hour long video but I watched it all the way to the end. Other "best VR games" videos here on youtube made me feel like theres only a handful of VR games worth trying until I came to this one. So many titles mentioned made me actually more excited about VR. Thank u sir !
WOW!!! you did it again! this is really impressive and accurate. I tried and play almost 75% of all those games and i pretty much agree with everything. My only critic would be that like last year you forgot a gem like Skyrim VR, this year it is Flight simulator 2020. Flight simulator is a MUST try in VR. Cheers!
Yo!! Thank you so much. You’re a beast and had a segue for every damn game haha!! Impressive vid and very helpful. I’m glad you clarified your ratings at the end. Perfect constructive criticism and also revisited after patches. Got my sub. Much love and I appreciate the content!!
Real Fishing VR (you can watch RUclips or any other website) and Wander (google maps in VR) are the surprise hits for me. Worth a quest 2 all on their own!
Epic video, amazing job! I agree with 99% of your ratings, definitely Alyx #1. But you should include Dr. Beef's Quest ports (Doom, Half-Life, Wolfenstein, Quake, etc.) They are definitely top VR games and deserve to be included.
Contractors made a HUGE leap with the v.0.90 Enhancement Update or overhaul of the whole game. Personally I was looking for more single player content in games like Pavlov or Onward and found it in Contractors. It has missions (eliminate, escort,..), free roam custom game setup with bots, but another big selling point are the custom maps or mods of well known franchises. There is a ton of fun to discover and also the standard maps are great designed and great looking, weapon handling is very good and I think the game has the best performance of all the shooters. I think currently it's also a hidden gem for PvP, because many players just don't know about it very well and stick always to Pavlov.
Goddamn that must've been a LOT of work to make this video. I really appreciate it -oh just saw the description haha. I'm just getting into VR and whenever I'm into something I have to go all the way so thank you for this extensive list!
Echo VR, though old is so much fun for a quick match or two. It's the game that I forget I am in VR the most, mostly because its fast paced and you gotta think quick, there's no time to think about how immersed you are. It feels like a real competetive sport with a big learning curve to get really good. Some players are so damn good at shooting.
Thanks for the list.. Added a few on the "watchlist". Jet Island ? Starks Spiderman suit with wrist jets on silver surfers board (with many unlockables) in some open world (and busted up) outer dimensional skate park with bosses on the scale of "shadow of the colossus". Its pretty epic and zen .
I almost never comment on youtube but this video definitely deserves some praise! There is a great selection of games in this video and it definitely helped me make my VR experience 100x better!
42:41 hyperdash is the BEST multiplayer VR shooter, the whole game is designed from ground up to accompany VR's features and limitations. It's insanely good and addictive, and the community is freaking awesome.
This is a great compilation, I would also add Audio Trip, Ragnarock and BoxVR, I wish metacritic would add a vr section but until then this is a great alternative.

Perfect video displaying all the noteworthy VR games of the last years.Missing only Driveclub VR for the PSVR as the best driving game for the platform, DSC for sim flight and I wanted to comment on Skyrim VR specifically. I want to correct you on the note that VR doesn't bring that much to the table compared to the normal version. Not only does the world come to life that much better (Standing in front of the walls and gates of Whiterun in VR is quite something compared to the same experience in normal version), but the combat gets so much more depth (for instance using bow and arrow feels way more intuitive, but also not being limited to standing and crouching, so you have way more freedom to be able to watch through holes in rubble to see where your enemy is at). And that is the PSVR version with a dualshock. I haven't even tried the fullfledged version with the full power of a 3080 and twin controllers to controll each hand.
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 I only have experience with PSVR, so I only know games with minecraft style pixelation :P Still, even with world details spawning in at maximum of 5 meters from my char, I was blown away with how close the world got to me with a lousy PSVR on my noggin. As far as I see it, there were only 3 groundbreaking moments in gaming history for me: 1 was when Nintendo and Sega really started of the hobby. 2 was when Sega and Sony brought the arcade to our living room. 3 was when VR was made affordable for the public. The rest was just slight graphics upgrades and I have never ever have put graphics over gameplay. EDF is my number 1 gaming franchise. The games are buttugly, but it all serves the gameplay. That said, I think next month I am going for the Reverb G2 and then keep a look out for some cheap base stations and index controllers over time. You shown me a lot of cool games waiting for me.
Great video and excellent work. Thanks for all the effort you pull for us. The only thing I would mention, is indicating when a PC VR game is oculus exclusive. I have an HTC headset, and got left out of titles like lone echo 1 & 2. I know they are supposed to work with revive, but I don't agree with how Facebook / meta handles their store. And it is still adding a layer of some sort of emulation.
Amazing list, looks like I’m going to need to grab a whole bunch of titles the next time there’s a sale! Sad that The Room VR: A Dark Matter and Tetris Effect: Connected aren’t on here. They’re amazing and Tetris Effect really makes me wish VR could work with you lying down. Still, they are pretty pricey and don’t have the best game time to price ratio. Also I’ve tried to get into Asgard’s Wrath but it stutters too much with Revive for me :( Lone Echo worked amazingly though!
Matteo, the man with all the transitions. When you get a chance I recommend you try audio trip. It's similar to synthriders but it's better Choreographed with additional smash moves. It comes with a fairly limited track list but you can download custom songs. It's currently my most played game.
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 i can definitely say its awesome I recently got it and loving it the visuals are phenomenal and it really gets you moving in fact its so spot on really recommend it personally too great choice from Taz
Wanted to add, 2076 is one of my favorite VR games by far, it's a really fun SCHMUP with great immersion. Definitely give it a try. 2nd favorite, 1976 by the same dev. This one is closer to a classic schmup
Wow thanks for making the video. I'd suggest you try H3VR again, just go play take and hold on beginner blake. H3VR is the only title I play anymore (working on the Take and Hold leaderboards). I find it a much better shooter than anything else.
I’m a little disappointed that Blade and Sorcery wasn’t in this list, but I understand that it wasn’t in your library. It’s just such a great game and was basically the entire reason I bought a quest 2. Plus the mods for both Nombad and PCVR are some of the best I’ve seen. Either way the smooth transitions and well put together editing was done great. And I discovered a few games I’ve taken an interest in. You’ve earned yourself a sub.
I'm amazed that you have loads of fps games listed but no mention of Contractors. I've got onward pavlov and pop1 but hardly ever play them because in my opinion Contractors blows them all out of the water. It has maps from halo, modern warfare, cod, and many others, load out mods including star wars clone wars, halo, psvz, hard core. If you haven't tried it you really must give it a go. It's brilliant 👏
Hi Matteo. Awesome video. My steam wishlist is just exploding now! 🤯 One improvement idea: Can you please add release years to your recommended games next time. This might help to understand the maturity of titles as VR experiences change so drastically each year.
Thank you for placing Demeo in 8.9 or so. That game and its use of the board is second to none IMO. A Rouge Escape is a different yet fun game. Visually stunning and a puzzle with no instructions is how I describe it. Without instructions SOUNDS bad, but that's the fun of this game. Pull a lever, push a button, use some brain cells and get this "hunk of junk" moving.

I think currently it's also a hidden gem for PvP, because many players just don't know about it very well and stick always to Pavlov.
resident evil vii will always be my fav, absolutely terrifying amazing experience.
Over 1h hour and I dont had to skip anytime. That is an achievement for sure!!
Glad you enjoyed it
I am studying VR as my major at uni and this vid made me want to like it so many times throughout. 10+ likes worth. thank you :)
Thanks
dude how does this only have 33k views. this is really well done
It's a new video, last years version is approaching 1 million but I'm glad you enjoyed it and feel free to share it
Holy shit, you really did a complete overview here! Can't wait for next year's edition lmao :) thanks man I'll make sure to pick some of these titles!
Aaaaaaaand my money is gone.
Thanks for the video. Straight to the point comments about games. Very entertaining to watch. +10 internet points, mate.
Glad you enjoyed it
Goddamn that must've been a LOT of work to make this video. I really appreciate it -oh just saw the description haha. I'm just getting into VR and whenever I'm into something I have to go all the way so thank you for this extensive list!
Anytime. The next large one will be out in april
This man is the Linus Tech Tips of game transitions
Great video Matt!
Glad you enjoyed it
You’re amazing for doing this. The websites and other sources are full of so much garbage/algorithm food. It’s hard to get any value from reviews.
I'm glad you like it
I like the format and gory details of all the games mentioned. Good stuff!
Thanks
Echo VR, though old is so much fun for a quick match or two. It's the game that I forget I am in VR the most, mostly because its fast paced and you gotta think quick, there's no time to think about how immersed you are. It feels like a real competetive sport with a big learning curve to get really good. Some players are so damn good at shooting.
Great Segway's how you go from game to game. Recognized in all your videos but just wanted to say I love how seamlessly you do it.
I guess it's a gift because I don't write a script and they come to me fairly easy
Yo these segues are legendary 😂. Awesome work 👊
This video deserves 10x more views for all the time and effort that I'm sure went into making it. Fantastic work!
:) thanks
Thanks for the list.. Added a few on the "watchlist". Jet Island ? Starks Spiderman suit with wrist jets on silver surfers board (with many unlockables) in some open world (and busted up) outer dimensional skate park with bosses on the scale of "shadow of the colossus". Its pretty epic and zen .
Thanks for sharing💯
Glad you enjoyed it
OMG I can only say THANK YOU!
amazing documentary
Glad you enjoyed it
Matteo! That was amazing! Nice one!
All the best, Rich in Sweden.
tack så mycket
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 ❤❤❤
just added like 30 games to my wishlist thank you for the video xD
Glad you enjoyed it
I almost never comment on youtube but this video definitely deserves some praise! There is a great selection of games in this video and it definitely helped me make my VR experience 100x better!
I'm glad you enjoyed it
Loved the old video, loved this one. I can only imagine how long it took to edit haha
Roughly 30 hours
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 Dang.
Hopes this makes it to millions
Marathon review! Awesome info - thanks for putting all these titles together on the one video, and with a good scope in genre. Much appreciated!
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the vid. Just purchased Valve Index and this video was exactly I was looking for. Waiting for one like this next year!
I'm glad to help
42:41 hyperdash is the BEST multiplayer VR shooter, the whole game is designed from ground up to accompany VR's features and limitations. It's insanely good and addictive, and the community is freaking awesome.
This is a great compilation, I would also add Audio Trip, Ragnarock and BoxVR, I wish metacritic would add a vr section but until then this is a great alternative.

Surprised you haven't played surv1v3.
@@shaneyd1986 only so much matteo to go around but it looks cool
Marvelous! Keep up the good work! Thanks for all the trouble
Have you never played the five nights at freddy's vr game or did you just forget it on the list? easily the best horror game vr has!
@@Zondels I played all the flat screen ones and wasn't really interested in vr jump scares
The best and only video any needs until many more games come out.
Thank you
Perfect video displaying all the noteworthy VR games of the last years.Missing only Driveclub VR for the PSVR as the best driving game for the platform, DSC for sim flight and I wanted to comment on Skyrim VR specifically.
Without mods I still think skyrim vr is Meh. The super old textures ruin the vr experience and combat is horrendous
Understandable but I've played all of these with revive on either a htc headset or index
Population 1 is my favorite. Great list!
I missed testis effect by accident but haven't played the room. I have a performance guide for asgard on the channel as I also played with revive
Matteo, the man with all the transitions. When you get a chance I recommend you try audio trip. It's similar to synthriders but it's better Choreographed with additional smash moves. It comes with a fairly limited track list but you can download custom songs. It's currently my most played game.
I've always been curious about it
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 i can definitely say its awesome I recently got it and loving it the visuals are phenomenal and it really gets you moving in fact its so spot on really recommend it personally too great choice from Taz
This video is legendary!
Wanted to add, 2076 is one of my favorite VR games by far, it's a really fun SCHMUP with great immersion. Definitely give it a try.
2nd favorite, 1976 by the same dev. This one is closer to a classic schmup
Great video again, I wait for it every year.
Thanks
Thanks I appreciate the feedback
Wow thanks for making the video. I'd suggest you try H3VR again, just go play take and hold on beginner blake. H3VR is the only title I play anymore (working on the Take and Hold leaderboards). I find it a much better shooter than anything else.
This is a long one, going to need a cup of coffee
love this list and the ranking system...you da man bro
Thanks
Pretty much plug and play, right? :D Thx meta. But actual real kudos to this bro, who tells us patiently aaaaall those steps neatly 🤜🤛
Many thanks for this! I can browse all worthy titles in one place. It was a great idea! 😎👍✌️
This is actually last years version
The new one should be in the pinned comments

Incredilble video! My steam wishlist just tripled in size.
😀
This is just a perfect top. Really learnt a lot.
Excellent video! I’m new to VR and I’m looking for more titles. I now have a LIST I want lol. And great transitions from game to game. Very well done!
Thanks for the support
Awesome list! Thanks, Matteo!
I'm glad you enjoyed it
I’m a little disappointed that Blade and Sorcery wasn’t in this list, but I understand that it wasn’t in your library.
It's on the list dude
Huh, it is. Don’t know how I missed that.
Your blind
Love from Sunny Namibia Mateo. You and Thrill have really inspired me to save up for a quest which I’ll hopefully purchase by mid March.
i hope you enjoy it
I'm amazed that you have loads of fps games listed but no mention of Contractors.
I only recently got into it
Imagine where VR will be in 10 years 😍
hell yeah
Danke!
thank you so much. I really appreciate this
This must have taken so long to make xD thx for the list, got tons of stuff I needed to add to my wishlist.
I believe it was between 20 and 40 hours
This is absolutely amazing. Great work and I can’t wait to share with everyone!
Thanks
Awsome ,very informative, love the way u seamlessly move through the games , make one for relaxing, for older people, casual cool experiences 😎

I'm glad you enjoyed it
This video was really informative and indepth, thanks for the dedication!
Glad to help
This is perfect when buying new games, thanks
Thanks for the list!
The titles at the bottom helped too.
It's too bad most of these are 1st person views.
We need more comfortable vr games.
1st person is what most people love about vr. Take your time. You should adjust. Glad you enjoyed the list
Great list! The only one missing is my most played VR game: Firewall Zero Hour.
Hi Matteo. Awesome video. My steam wishlist is just exploding now! 🤯
One improvement idea: Can you please add release years to your recommended games next time. This might help to understand the maturity of titles as VR experiences change so drastically each year.
Great suggestion. I will try to remember for next year
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 You rock. See you next year. (Just kidding. Soon of course!)
Sounds like I need to check it out
@@Gamingwithmatteo311 So YOU'RE the Matteo311 on the Leaderboard of 'In Death: Unchained' that I'll never beat....LoL. Nice to meet your acquaintance .
Great video man, as always. Quick note, when talking about captain toon head, you have swords of gargantua up in the text.
Yup nothing I can do now
Amazing video. Thank you for this!

best vid i have seen this year
Awesome thx
Dang no mention of "into the radius"? Easily my top vr game of all time. It also constantly gets updates too. Its basically a VR S.T.A.L.K.E.R game.
Yup. I haven't played it enough to rank it
