2/14/2024. Tried this on my Tblazer!!! PERFECT!! Now we are going to get fobs for the suburban. Thanks so much😊
Glad I could help!
2003 Trailblazer, just replaced the fob today - 9/14/2024. I followed the instruction in this video. It was easy easy. Thanks.
*Yea I got this same deal for my 2003 Yukon XL a couple years ago…they were easy to program, then after about a month the primary fob stopped working completely.*
*Started using the secondary fob, and after a couple months the battery went dead, I replaced it with a new battery, 2 days later the battery was dead again.*
*Went out and bought another battery, used a multimeter and checked the voltage right out of the package and it was good.*
*Put it in and 2 days later it was dead, and not just low/dead…it was under 1 volt ((a new CR2032 battery starts out at around 3-3.25 volts).*
*Stopped using that fob and haven’t been able to get another one to program to the truck since! It enters programming mode but immediately exits on its own as soon as you release the lock button (horn beeps a second time to confirm it’s out of programming mode).*
*Guess that’s what I get for cheaping out originally and buying cheap Chinese knock-offs!*
Something is going on, I have had no issues with the cheapo fobs or batteries going dead. Popping out of programming mode is probably a clue.
Thank you. Worked like a charm. Paired an '07 TB old fob with our '05 TB. Very clear instructions.
Glad to help

Welcome
Yep, we talk here, welcome to the channel.
@@AxlesGarage I am glad you talked through it.
I am Going to try this.
Thanks.
@@leonrollins87 what fact u dont understand between the differences of ur car and the presented Truck?? Size or Name??
Awesome video.. I have a 2005 Suburban and these instructions worked perfectly for it as well. Thank you for taking the time to do this. ✊🏿
Another video I watched said to hold down the lock button and to turn your ignition key on twice but very fast.so which one is it
thank you for being one of the few ppl to explain the different frequencies and how they aren't all the same!
You're welcome. And to think, people say I talk too much. I wonder how many skipped right over that/ Thanks for watching.
Very imformative about the right frequency..thank you so helpful!!
Idk why anyone would think all the remotes would be the same frequency. If that's the case you'd lock/unlock every trailblazer within 100 feet in the Walmart parking lot
Ace *IS* the place! Make no mistake, if you allow Amazon to put them out of business, because you don't have enough money to go to ACE, then you need a new job, or a new outlook on life. You can sell out to china all you want, but I'm going to have hardware on demand in my area, because I'm not a penny pinching douche. I enjoy being able to get something today, rather than waiting 2 or 3 days for amazon. I wish cheapskates could see how stupid they are!
Yep, times sure have changed a bit. The Big Dummy recently got a job at our local Ace
@@AxlesGarage 😆
Mine didn work 😢
Thanks BRO great stuff keep helping the poor man
Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much!!! It worked for my 2002 Trailblazer.
Thanks for watching
I have a 2002 trailblazer and it will go into program mode but will lock and honk shortly after before I have time to even touch my buttons on my remotes. These are brand new remotes I bought off Amazon why won’t they program?
Can’t believe this people where actually tryna charge me $95 for this thing. Thank you sir
Glad to help
Yeah chevy dealer tried to rip off some seniors for reprogramming fobs for impalas....they went thru the radio and we did like 6 of them at the senior center gratis...these dealer are gonifs
I have a question, but first I would like to say great job on the video. My question. Once a key fob has been programed with one keyless entry module, can i reprogram the key fob?
I was able to reprogram the FOB that I have after some car repairs made it necessary. I bought a second one so my husband would have one. I was then able to reprogram the new FOB but it disables the old one. I did this about 6 times, one will work and the other wont. I took my old one and put it in the house away from the car, reprogrammed the new one and went to get the old one out of the house only to find it disabled again.. .any ideas? Thank you, I decided to take your video out to my car and go through it again, I think I got it this time...lol...they both work. Thanks again!
So I put a new battery in my remote and I assumed that it got un paired because it wouldnt work anymore. So I come here because this is where I paired it when I first got it and it worked. I go through the whole thing and when it comes to holdinf the unlock and lock button simultaneously it works. However, after I turn of the accessory, and open and shut the door, the fob doesnt work. Any ideas?
in Australia we call them remote control button
Thank you
Informative and easy to use instructions. Thank you! only took me a couple of minutes to program my new remotes!
Glad it helped, Thanks for watching.
Appreciate it man. You broke the steps down perfect! 💪🏾💯
Glad to help
6/7/24 Thank you. It works perfectly 👋😊
Kk and pappy my great grandparents had a 2005 Chevy trailblazer
Thank you so much for the very informative video. You just helped me save some cash and the hassle of having to go out and find someone to program it for me. I ordered off amazon with your link and it arrived today and I programmed in within 3 mins! Thank you so much! Greatly appreciate it!
Glad I could help!
Me too!
Does not work for a 2007 Chevy Colorado. If anyone knows how to program for this vehicle please help. I have the original key fobs that came with the vehicle both with new batteries.
I have a push button car. How do you program it?
Awesome video!!! Worked with my trailblazer mine is a 05. I got mine from Amazon. Thank you very much it was easy to go with your video.
Thanks for watching
Sorry, that last one was all jumbled. I have a 2015 Buick. Enclave. Want to order a new fob From Amazon and programming? Does that mean I need 2 new fob or will my old one still work?
The old will work along with a new one
Does this work for the original fob as well? Mine no longer locks/unlocks the doors. Just the alarm and trunk buttons work but the power locks still work thankfully. I have tried changing the batteries but still nope. In fact, I believe this happened after I changed the car battery a few years ago. But it is annoying using the key in the lock. One day some ass hat accused me of using a master key to break into the car.
Yes this method is used for original fobs as well.
I love no bullshit new yorkers ! ❤🙌🙏🏁✌️
What about cars that need to key in the car to start - not just open doors
Dude.. just cut to the point of the video..
Eff the intro,
Eff the history of the vehicle..
Just cut to the point
Thank you very much ...very detailed instructions ! Awesome job ..my new fob works great !!
Glad it helped
How To Program Key Fob Remote or Keyless Entry - 2002-2009 Chevy Trailblazer & similar GM Vehicles
COPY AND PASTE TO WORD:
SHUT DOOR
PUT KEY IN IGNITION BUT DON’T TURN IT
HOLD DOWN THE ‘UNLOCK’ BUTTON ON THE DOOR
CYCLE YOUR IGNITION KEY TO ON
THEN OFF
THEN ON AGAIN
THEN TO THE OFF POSITION
YOU SHOULD HEAR THE HORN BEEP
YOU SHOULD HEAR THE DOOR LOCKS CYCLE OFF AND ON
NOW YOU CAN LET GO OF THE UNLOCK BUTTON
NOW WE ARE IN PROGRAMMING MODE
TAKE YOUR REMOTE AND HOLD DOWN LOCK AND UNLOCK AT THE SAME TIME
WAIT ABOUT 20 TO 30 SECONDS AND YOU WILL HEAR THE DOOR LOCKS CYCLE
ONCE THE DOOR LOCKS LOCK AND UNLOCK YOU CAN LET GO OF THE REMOTE FOB
IF YOU HAVE MORE REMOTES DO THE SAME
WHEN YOU ARE ALL DONE
CYCLE THE KEY TO ‘ON’
YOU WILL HEAR THE HORN BEEP AND THE DOOR LOCKS CYCLE UP AND DOWN
TURN THE KEY BACK OFF
OPEN THE DOOR
SHUT THE DOOR
YOU ARE ALL DONE AND YOU HAVE REMOTES THAT WORK 😄
Thanks
my car won’t go into programming mode, what do I do ?
That's a problem, try disconnecting the battery overnight to reset the computers.
I lost one of my remotes to my Buick on clave twentyou're uncle.I'm clever.I want to get a new one-off of Amazon. What does that mean I need to get two of them because my original other one that I have will no longer work ?
both can work
Hey Axele’s Garage I’ve tried this before working like a Charm, BUT today after my last Remote went bad I reordered a new Pair and advanced forward to do the Reprogramming except this time since the remaining defective one can’t work to disable alarm, now when I hold back open door switch then turn key twice, the ALARM turns on loud sounding interrupting the programming process which disallows me to continue wireless auto code insertion codification to accept “auto-key” install validation! How can I BYPASS this dog-gone interference inconvenience? I’m quite anxiously in dismay and annoyed of this inhibition! Please give me another super magic touch method to process key programming! Thanks a bunch of millions for any advice? I’m original owner of GMC 2003 Yukon since then can’t remember the hidden location “secret-button” to disable security alarm system bypass!
That's a tough one, maybe disconnect battery, turn key to on position and reconnect battery

Glad to help
didn't work for my 2005 Chevy Equinox... I didn't even get past the first step because that part didn't work. When I googled it this is what came up "SORRY, THERE ARE NO KEYLESS ENTRY REMOTE SELF-PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS VEHICLE. The Manufacturer decided to not produce this vehicle with self-programming capabilities. You must get an Automotive Locksmith to program the remote to your vehicle for you." I'm sad ... I bought 2 key fobs to program for spares
Yes, there are certain models from 03 and up that need specialized programming.
Easy as pie. Unfortunately the programming process is different depending on the vehicle, even if you do have that type of remote. For the 2007 Chevy Malibu you actually need a specific device to get into programming mode. Because I was working with 2 of the same vehicle I thought I'd be saving something but no of course it only works for one vehicle. No way to get around spending that 90 bucks to program for the 2007 Malibu. I think they made later models Manually programmable like that; where you can turn the key, unlock the door, or cycle the key a certain amount of times and it goes into programming mode. But the 2007 Malibu requires an External OBD programmer. 90 bucks at autozone and/or advanced auto parts. Probably could find a cheaper online.
Thanks for the info
You the best man
Glad to help
Still sent work on either of my remotes.
Any suggestions??? I have the correct gm fob for my 2002 envoy. And I do all that but it won’t program the fob
If the vehicle will not enter programing mode, there may be a problem on the vehicle side, not the key fob
worked perfect, thanks a bunch my friend
Glad we could help. Thanks for watching.
Hello AxlesGarage,
THANK YOU! Works on 2007 Saab 9-7x also (Saablzr), just programed 3 fobs to BCM
Cheers,
Mr. P
Glad to help
@LSmiata - were any of the three working or were they all brand new?
FYI - Did not work for my 2008 Chevy Uplander. Vehicle did not go into programming mode by holding unlock button down and cycling the ignition twice. Made three attempts at procedure to no avail.
So I've been getting feedback that some 7/8/9 models don't have the program mode as you describe.
Hi. I have a 2009 Chevy Silverado
But the problem that I have is that the key won’t turn I have been moving key up and down for two years. But now it won’t unlock plsssss I was told that I need the key made. Not the cylinder
But that the number is on the cylinder
So any advice will help.
There is either a problem with the key-cut, or the cylinder. Trying a new cut might be the cheapest option.
Thank you for showing me how to program the key fobs, would you use 3 minutes to talk about nothing you should just jump right into it, and demonstrate and explain how to do it
Glad to help, we do talk a lot here. Welcome
I can't seem to find the transmitter number for the 2003 chevy trail blazer ext. Can anyone help?
It would be on one of the original remotes
I have a question question. When I tried in my 2002 trailblazer, after I turn the key 2 times and I heard the horn and the doors sequel and I released the unlock button, in the process to press the 2 buttons at the same time the car honks and do the doors sequel again, what do you think is the problem? I hope you can help me with this. Thank you.
Could be that you're not doing it fast enough, or a problem with the system on the vehicle side
Does it have to be done with a brand new fob I’ve been trying to reprogram my old one because it just randomly stopped working. Replaced the battery before trying this.
Can do it with new or old ones that lost their program
I got a Chevy Malibu Lt 2009 I ordered a fob keys set your f dealerships are rip off they charge 300 to program hell no
Thanks for watching
Thx soooo much
You're welcome!
I’ve done this on all my vehicles saves money also it’s $25 at a junkyard if ur desperate for a fob make sure it’s the right one
Good tip
Is there a way to reprogram my second key to be recognised by immobilizer? Key was working fine but i tried to take radio out by bit of force and the key stopped working. I have other key that only locks car manualy. And the button on starting key doesnt work.
Not something you can do yourself, I don't believe.
So I get the initial lock cycle to engage and a few seconds after I let go of the unlock button the locks switch again and the horn beeps twice. This happens regardless of me pushing the 2 buttons on the fob or not, any advice?
Try disconnecting the battery overnight to reset the BCM's
Does this work for a malibu 08?
Give it a try and let us know. Can't hurt.
I have a malibu 2008 with came with only one key (not with fob) how to find which remote will work with my car like how to find gm no. of the car.??
You may have to go to the dealer for that
Is this just when you purchase a new key fob? I have one and I am just replacing the battery. Does that need to be reprogramed?
This will program new or old key fobs, but when changing the batteries you should not have to reprogram.
Will this work if my original fob isn’t working properly? The lock button work but not the unlock.
Yes it should
My new fob is the right frequency but when the truck goes into sync mode it automatically kicks back out of sync mode idk what to do
Try disconnecting the vehicle battery overnight. Then try the steps again. Sometimes you need a reboot of the BCM
What if i have an 06 chevy blazer that didnt come with a key fob? Can i still program one?
Only it it originally came with a key fob from the factory
Axle you are cool. Thanks. I did not want to pay $100.
Glad to help
Hope I can do something for you Sir, may you have a Blessed and safe week.
Thanks for the kind words

Do the keys actually turn the vehicle on or are those keys only used to program?
The keys for these models are the regular non-chipped keys
Thanks
Glad to help. Thanks for watching.
When I follow the steps it's go into programming mode then within 3 sec go out of the mode all doors are closed is there a solution for this
You might have a problem on the vehicle end.
My driver side door lock doesn't work, so I tried this on with the passenger side lock (which does work) but it wouldn't go into programming mode. Does this only work on the driver side?
I believe so. Thanks for watching.
I don't know why haters are downvoting this, worked perfectly for me on the first try.
Thanks for the kind words
thx
Glad to help
Can I do it with the passenger side lock button if driver side doesn't work
I'm not sure about that. Give it a try and please let us know.
When i cycle to on and off twice the doors don't lock or unlock please please please help
If you can't get it in programing mode following the directions, either your particular make/model doesn't do it that way, or you may have a problem with the receiver module in the car.
How come you didn't show the blue fobs being programmed?
Because we had already programmed them. In the video we programmed another remote we have to demonstrate. The color of the 'skin' is irrelevant. the guts are the same as long as the frequency for the vehicle is correct.
Ok but does these instructions work for the flip out key fob that you had on the other video?
No they do not
I just bought two keys for Walmart for my Infiniti. I couldn’t believe they had them. I went to a key website to verify the number.
Thanks for watching
I cant get two key fobs to work at once? I program one and once i program the other one the first one deactivates. I did exactly what u did in the video
You have to do the second or third right after the first, you can't let it leave programming mode until you are done with all remotes.
@@AxlesGarage ohhhhh i was turning the key for each remote lol . thanks for the help
Hey I have a 2003 Chevy Tracker is there a easy way to add a alarm to my keyless entry system
Probably not, best to check with an alarm guy.
Will this work for 2008 Chevy Cobalt 5 button remote start
I don't believe it works on 2008.
I never received a key fob when I bought my 2005 trail blazer. How can I find the number with no fob
Probably only at the dealer.
@@AxlesGarage found it on google and ordered one on Amazon. Thank you very much
Could have cut out the first 3 minutes of the video.

Welcome to the channel
I have a 08 trailblazer but with after market alarm / remote start, it will work also ?
No, you need to follow the directions of the alarm manufacturer
Hey do you think this will work for my 2005 chevrolet equinox?
2005 should work. Give it a shot. Its a cheap gamble.
How 'bout your 2014 impala has remote start?
Probably not
Ordered two from Amazon.Programmed it. Now i have a dead alternator
Well, get on it and get it fixed.
Mines taking forever, I did it 6 times and it still ain’t working
Does not work on all makes/models/years
Did not work on 2005 Chevy Malibu ls.
Thank you
Hi
I'm having a problem I'm not sure if you can guide me through this
Once I switch the key on and off twice it enter the programming mode but after 3-4 seconds the lock sycle is triggered and the beeb is on (as it has exited the programming mode) I'm not sure what am I Doing wrong or if i have a faulty hardware. Also seems my old remote is not programmed anymore
If it is exiting programming mode, you might be going to slow and it's timing out. Follow the steps as they are in the video

Yes, that's what we do here. Welcome to the channel
what can you do if you don't have a key fob to begin with
If the vehicle came with a fob from the factory, you can program one, however there are like 3 different frequencies, so you could possibly have to try up to a few remotes.
Before you purchase a new fob(s), try this and see if you can salvage your old one(s).
Carefully open up the fob with a penny on the indent located on the bottom right (with the buttons facing you). Separate the front and back halves.
Take out the battery and check to make sure it is not weak with a battery tester. If unsure, change with a new battery. Dollar stores may have them cheap.
Clean the battery contacts gently with 91% or better isopropyl alcohol using a Q-tip.
You can then separate the rubber button pad from the circuit board.
Wash the rubber button board with soapy water and a use toothbrush to clkean any stuck muck, rinse and let dry thoroughly.
Next, clean the contact area on the circuit board with Q-tips and alcohol until shiny. Or alternately you can use a soft pencil eraser (not a hard ink one!). Wipe clean with alcohol afterwards.
You can wash the muck out of the case with soapy water and dry thoroughly, too.
Carefully insert the new battery with the + terminal up, facing you. Reassemble the fob.
Try it to see if it works. If not, you can reprogram from Axel's instructions, taking care to do it EXACTLY as he says.
I did this and my two fobs work and look like brand new. Saved $$$.
Thanks, Axel, for your straight to the point instructions.
Good Info. Thanks for watching.
My problem is the lock/unlock buttons do not work but the trunk and alarm do. I tried changing the batteries, still the same. This happened after I changed the car battery several years ago gradually then just lock worked, now neither. I am worried if I try this, I may mess it up altogether.
