THANK YOU! Worked first time following your video. Guy as Advanced Auto Parts told me I had to program it at a dealer. He's full of crap. Took all of two minutes and now I have a brand new fob. TWO THUMBS UP!

I was quoted 1 remote for 70 dollars by a mobile key duplication company. Thanks to your video I just ordered 2 remotes from Amazon for 25 dollars. Thank you so much for making this video.
I just saved myself almost $200. That's what a locksmith wanted to cut 2 new keys and program them. I went online and found out how to do it myself and both new keys work. I spent $6 on two new keys and $2.78 to have them cut at a hardware store. Next up will be two new remotes. I love RUclips for this kind of content.

Bought my 2 remotes from Amazon for our 2007 Hummer H2. Looks exactly like the one featured in this video. First programming went perfectly. 2nd fob isn’t … it may be a bad battery though (even though it should be brand new). Thank you so much for the simple step by step instructions!

*Yep, worked on our 2009 Chevy Malibu! Locks didn't unlock and lock but I heard a click and went through the programming process and heard another "click" after holding the 2 buttons down.*

0H 0H 0HHH! I watched. I don’t know how many videos this weekend after replacing the battery in my key fob. Every one of them said the reading in the vehicle needed to be on relearn remote. I did not have that option and it never came up. I just came across your video and I am praying that this works. I cannot wait to try it!!!

Before you replace a non-working key fob, try taking it apart and cleaning the contacts, where the button presses, with electrical contact cleaner. Mine were dirty.

It works well. Only problem, it doesn't work at 25'. You need to stand next to the door to open.

Thanks for this video! I was able to program my remote. However, when I use the new fob and close the truck, it doesn’t fold in the side mirrors. Should it be programmed somewhere else?

Gee, mine I only had to press the lock and unlock button, but had to make sure the old one was there also so it would still work. Actually when I bought my vehicle the one they had was worn, so they gave me a new one that worked fine, but the old one didn't.. so either the owners manual had instructions or found online, can't remember that just had to hit both lock and unlock button to set it up, but had to have any other where also so it would be set too. So took both to vehicle and on the new one pressed both buttons, and then the old one worked also.

Will this method work for 2012 Silverado ? I ask because when I researched this some time ago different sources said I would need a programmer that plugs into the ECM port in order to reprogram.
I believe after 2010 they made it harder for the consumer to program their own key fob, so you have to take it into the dealership and pay the big money.
Worked perfect 2006 suburban.
I did try the same thing what you did on your key fob I try to do my key fob it didn’t work so I need to go back on it
Mine only worked after I turned the key on and off twice and then turn it back to the on position and left it, and then pressed the unlock and locked buttons on the key fob, and then turn it back off and on and off again it works for my vehicle.
If this works you saved me a ton of money 😊
What about Suburbans with the rear glass remote button (three button remote) on models with a full with Tailgate??

To keep the paint from fading on the fob buttons just use a clear coat nail polish over the paint.
What if you have remote start tied to your original fob, as press lock 3 times to remote start my truck. Will that carry over to the new fob?

Ok this is the part I dont understand, I'm going three of them so do I repeat all steps for each one or once the first one is set up all tou do is press the lock and unlock on the fob for 30 seconds

I believe so. Just try the unlock and roll the key forward twice and see if the truck responds with a lock and unlock. If so, I would assume you're in program mode...
I just paid a Locksmith $85 to program a key fob for my 2008 Saturn Sky Redline. The dealer wanted to charge me $150. I wish I’d seen this video earlier. 😞
Do I have to keep pressing the unlock while doing this process to the end?
