    For everyone wondering:
    I've used this method since this video came out! These will last me for 1-3 weeks. Depending on when I get bored of the color. I've only had one pop off and it was because I didn't use enough glue. Follow all of her steps exactly and this will work for you! I went out and bought these exact nails and nail glue. The only tip I have is be careful with the glue. It's easy to end up covered in glue! Also, I do these on Saturdays so I can sleep in the nails so they can completely dry, and then I paint them the next morning/day!

      Can you use super glue or does it have to be nail glue?

  • @selenag473
    @selenag473 7 лет назад +132

    Take acetone or nail polish remover to clean the top of the nail glue bottle. It will prevent air from getting inside and therefore work like new. :)

    Hey, I'm a nail tech and I just wanted to give you a tip. Don't file back and forth on your nail it does lot more harm then you realize only file going in one direction. Right to left. I think all of your videos are amazing!

    I live in England and I just got fake nails today for an early 10th birthday present because Im a kid and I got some forever lasting nails and it's soooo cool! I love them so much and even when they fall of they're easy to stick back on with the nail glue it comes with. I painted my fake nails fire red and the ring finger ( the one next to your pinkie) neon green. I looked up this video and thank you so much! this is a great help for an early birthday present.💅💚🎉🎊🎁

    I just discovered press on nails and having been a teen when they were big in the 80’s and knowing how hideous they were, I was blown away at how awesome they are now. I’m hooked. Thanks for the tips! I’m loving the ones that are already painted and short. They look amazing and I’m so over my nail salon where nobody speaks English and their service is hideous.

    @KatyWithAWhyyy 5 лет назад +5

    Sooo I’ve used her exact method for several weeks with varied success. The longest I have gone with all of them staying on is 6-7 days. I have no clue how she is getting them to stay on that long. I suppose if you don’t text or type or - use your hands much. Maybe? I’m not that hard on my nails and had acrylics/gels on for a couple years before trying this. She is right about not having any moisture on your nails before applying or within several hours. That helps. Also - make sure they fit your nail ! (I.e. aren’t glued to your skin vs. your nail.) They pop off way easier if they aren’t glued to 100% nail. This is just my experience with them.. good luck! 💅

    I started doing my nails this way about 3 years ago. Such a money saver and TIME saver. I have 5 kids. Going to the bathroom is difficult enough, getting to a nail salon would be virtually impossible, I would have to take at least a couple of my kids with and it would ruin the experience not only for me, but for the other customers as well, Lololol!!!! I will definitely try the tips you gave about not getting the nails wet for 4 hours. Never thought about that before!

    Thanks for the video!! I also use glue on nails since I became allergic to gel and acrylic, my favorite is the Kiss Curve. The only thing I do different is I shape, paint, and decorate them ahead of time then store them until I want to use them. So much easier than trying to paint while they are already on your hand, no mess!! I use a short orange stick for each nail, wrap a skinny piece of duct tape on the end, sticky side out, place the nail on that and paint it, then I put it into a holder to dry that my husband made for me. You can also just use a styrofoam block (dollar store!) to push the orange sticks into as a holder until your nails dry. I use seche Vite fast dry top coat, my fav, and let them dry overnight before I use them. Using a a good topcoat also gives the nails more strength. I have tried many different nails, but the Kiss Curve remains my favorite. They are thin and fit the best, look the most natural. I have actually had nail techs compliment me on my nails, HA!!!

    I am so late, but this is still relevant. In a new city, hunting for a good nail tech- made an appointment and they canceled on me because of delays. This video is going to save my nails for this weekend (ladies weekend getaway, can't wait) I was going to hide my fingers in every photo before finding this. Plus there was a comment about using glitter polish on natural nail before filing to help prevent damage. going to try it all and bring a spare set on trip. Thank you so much for this! I will post an update soon.

      sleepy I've had them on 8 days now - so far so good! All my co-workers are amazed at how good they look. Today my thumbnail popped off (first one!) because I was doing some heavy duty pulling of some fabric. I just glued it back on and it has stayed so far. That just showed me that if it does pop off, just glue it back on/ Good luck with yours!

    My favorite glue on brand is nalene. I'm more of the short square type. I will never know how you keep them on 3 weeks. You should also remember to work pinky to thumb moving from one hand to the other every nail to allow for proper glue drying and it's also easier to pick up the single nail and squeeze the glue bottle if you do your index fingers and thumbs last. I haven't had real finger nails since the early 90's and this is pretty much the method I've used for years.

    I used to do this all the time when I was in high school. lol your husband is funny. They didn't always look as nice as your's do I must admit. I always got the glue stuck to one of my fingers while I pressed it down. Ever since I started taking vitamins 6-8 years ago and eating better my nails have gotten so much stronger. Applying oils to your nails makes them strong too!

  • @JillMary5
    @JillMary5 7 лет назад +1

    I used glue-on nails for YEARS before moving on to DIY hard gel (IBD). Everything you shared here is right on! Kiss and Broadway nails are the best to use because they are the thinnest, which means the most natural look. However, the reason I stopped using glue-on nails and moved to doing my own hard gel is because when your natural nail starts to grow out, there is a gap with slight lifting at the cuticle with glue-on nails, which causes things to get stuck in it. This would happen after about a week and a half. It was a bear trying to wash or brush my hair because it was always getting caught. The same thing happened to my daughter as well. I tried numerous things to fill in the 'gap', but to no avail. The only thing that did slightly 'fill' it in somewhat was to dab some glitter polish in the crack, wiping it up slightly to make a designer look. It helped for a little while. :/

    I can say that "static nails" are the best fake nails EVER. Yes, if you order a pair, it's not so cheap. But it's worth it, why? Because you can re-use them over and over and over again, they last for 3 weeks or even more, you can reshape them, shorten, etc. I strongly recommend static nails.
    And they look gorgeous...

    Thank you for uploading a beauty DIY that is so awesome, inexpensive, and practical for everyday people. A lot of other beauty/lifestyle vloggers post things that don't have a practical application and are just trying to push a sponsored product. (Not anything wrong with sponsorship, as long as the method actually works) I can't wait to try this when my nails I ordered come in!!

    I have a confession to make. I did fast forward to the end of the video to see Ryan in action because I don't like false nails on myself. I wear contact lenses so they need to be short & just prefer my own nails in general too! hahah Ryan may have to charge some royalties after all.

      I love seche vite to death I buy the huge refill bottle cos I go through so much it's actually more cost effective to buy the 120 ml bottle because you also get a full 15 ml bottle with it

      Just curious, I'm allergic to acrylic and some gel and gel polishes as well. I noticed that the nail glue has similar ingredients to some of the gel polishes I can't use. Have you had issues with any glues with allergies? Thx

    Thank you! The people that do nails at salon, some have no feelings. They rip the acrylics off your real nail & seem to have no emotions while your in pain! Not going back!. Great idea. Gonna try this, for sure.

    Just put mine on and they lol great! They are a little long for my liking, so I filed them down a bit. I wish I was able to keep more or the shape though. The paint went on so easily! It took about an hour. Probably because it was my first time doing it. I think I'm obsessed!

    OMG she gave me so much amazing tips that I LOVE! So now I know cause every time I would always put my nails with out what she did like not getting them wet cause every time I would clean them and then press on them for 30 sec. I would just put them and move on! Like for 5 sec then next nail! They did last longer for almost two week! That's amazing! So now I did save time and saved my money! OMG THANK YOU!!!

    how do you make sure to avoid air bubbles? do you just add extra glue? I noticed I have flatter nails then the artificial nail beds and I get bubbles.

    • @preciouskezz459
      @preciouskezz459 5 лет назад

      You need to apply from the cuticle and rock the nail slowly towards the tip.
      Hold just buy the cuticle for a good 30 seconds then very slowly tilt the cake nail down towards the free edge of the natural nail.
      If you are still getting air bubbles try a half drop more glue.
      Use an orange stick to quickly remove excess glue from under the tip of your real nails if it overflows.

    I used to do my own nails just like this all the time. Now I can never find the time, but also I'm in love with gel nail polish. I've been wanting to try the powder gel nail polish, it's pricey but looks so easy and fast.

    I have been using fake nails for couple years now and the only issue i normally have is that they come off really easy or like you said flip off. I normally try to protect my real nail which is why i don't make them rough but that tip might just be the key!

    This works! She says to put a lot of glue, but be careful. I used the kind she did, it didn't take much for it to drip out and stick to my fingers together. Other than that worked perfectly!

    No Matter what I do I can never have them longer than like 4 days if im lucky and I don't do much activity besides typing and working out and other daily things. it frustrates me that I can't make it last for a week or even 2 weeks which would be amazing! ❤️. I think I need to have the glue closer to cuticle little bit and hold it down 30 seconds instead of 5 seconds Ill absolutely try that! also this is the best video iv ever seen because the instructions are so much more specific than the others I have seen in my opinion.
