Hi, I'm wondering if I might be able to make some suggestions? I'm a certified Advanced nail technician and watching this I would like to offer you some different ways of doing things, because some of the steps that you are doing you are damaging your natural nail. First of all use the file that comes with your kit because the grid is a higher number. The 100 grit that you're using is too rough for the natural nail and damages it. You do not need to roughen the natural nail for the tip to adhere properly. You need to use the file that comes with the kit to buff the natural nail and ensure you get the full surface not just different areas of it. What this does is it removes the natural nail shine and any remaining oils that are on the nail for the best adhesion. Ruffing the nail is not necessary and it is damaging. Also when your filing go in the direction of the nail so from cuticle to free Edge try not to go from side to side because then it's like going against the grain of the nail, and it won't be as effective. When you use the alcohol this is a great step to do but use the lint free swab and actually get in and scrub make sure you get along the side walls around the cuticle the free Edge the top of the surface you want to ensure you're getting the full nail. The purpose of this is to remove any of the dust from filing and also to dehydrate and clean the natural nail. Once you've done this do not touch your nail with your fingers because by doing so you are now adding oils and dirt from your hands even if you just wash them you're still adding oils and dirt. so don't touch the natural nail after you cleanse it with the alcohol. A suggestion when you put on your tip with the glue on the underside of it if you start at the cuticle and rock the tip towards the free Edge as you're pushing down and holding it it will help disperse the glue and you'll have less air pockets as well. Once you're ready to take your nails off do not whatsoever pry them off with another nail or the Orangewood stick that you have with your kit!!! This damages the nail beyond belief. In order to remove these safely without damaging your natural nail you must soak them in acetone. Do not be afraid of acetone it's one of the most friendliest chemicals in the industry. It should make the tip gooey and then you should be able to just wipe it off never pry your nails off! I hope this helps and I hope you don't mind me giving you some added suggestions in order for you to keep the health of your natural nail without any damage it just a couple of tips and tricks on how to do things. I know since we've been closed you guys can't come in and see us and this is a good backup, but I just like to help to ensure that there's no more damage to the natural nail.
So I tried this and THIS IS THE BEST NAIL TUTORIAL EVER. I work a laborious job where I'm doing heavy lifting 8 hours a day, so I didn't think this would work for me. My nails lasted 2 full weeks!
I am 74 yrs old and have used the Kiss French Manicure nails for several years. I like the oval shaped nails and they usually last 2 weeks. I agree it is important that your natural nails are completely dry before you apply the press-on nails to avoid getting a fungus. I get so many compliments on my nails, from women and men, and they can’t believe they are drugstore press-on nails.
Brittany, Your instructions were so easy to follow and oh my gosh I can't believe how easy you made it. I was really reluctent to try putting them on . I followed everthing you said to do 3 weeks ago and they are still on! 🤩Thank you so much
After 30 years of acrylics and the shut down of nail salons, I finally removed them myself. My nails were quite damaged after the many years of abuse and extremely tender. Your video was so well done and gave me the confidence to do the press ons.I have to say that I am incredibly impressed! From start to finish, it took me no more than 30 minutes. Thank you so much for doing this and helping me decide to go acrylic free, save time and money and still have great looking nails. ❤️
GIRLLLLL I needed to see this! My nails are always looking a hot mess because I’m a nurse and I DIY all the time. They look so good!! Giving me Elle Woods vibes for sure!
Perfect timing for this tutorial. Mine will be delivered tomorrow. I like square nails, I think I’m one of the very few people who do like them. I have been filing my natural nails a little more rounded, just to see how I like it on me.
Do what you think looks best! You know what looks best on you! I prefer oval but it compliments my finger shape. My best friend uses the squared off shape but it looks better on her nails with her finger shape.
I just want to thank you for letting us all know this secret. My daughter and I started using this method about 2 weeks into the quarantine. She is a nurse and in and out of water all the time she is working. Never had one pop off they are great. Thank you again.
I just did press on nails for the first time and was amazed how great they turned out. I used a pack of dollar tree nails. They were square so I reshaped them to look more like coffin nails, filed off the french tip design and painted them with gel polish. They honestly look amazing. I got the nailene glue off of amazon for $2 and I already had the gel nail set with the UV lamp. Overall this was way cheaper than getting them done professionally and they legit look just as good.
For anyone reading this, Dollar Tree nails are softer/weaker and the color fades after a day. Even on the French. They are perfect for a 1 event situation though!!
Omg Brittany thank you SO MUCH. I used to get my nails done acrylics every 2 weeks and finally got a fungal infection (yes I know- judge away). I’m healed but I miss getting my nails done sooooo much!!! So excited to try this.
Fellow fake nail queen here lol. I've been doing almost the exact same procedure for about 7 years now. People don't believe they are super fake, not salón de done nails. I love them! Kiss brand is the only ones that fit my larger nail bed too. Great video!
Years ago I watched your videos about press on nails and diy eyelashes extensions and I’ve been following your techniques since then. Thank you for this update. 😀
Gorgeous manicure which compliments any attire (casual, business, or formal). My last set was on through a week 's vacation in Jamaica, and 2 weeks afterwards at home..seriously! It even shocked me.
I started doing my nails with the 'BV' method a few month ago, and it truly does make such a difference on longevity! Plus it bumps up the 'strength' level as well -- my nails can take being banged/flicked and generally abused at a much more realistic level. I'll never go back to getting acrylic or 'pink & white' nails at a salon. Not only am I saving around $80/mo, it also saves me a couple hours, and less exposure to all those chemicals and dust at the nail salons. HUGE THANKS!!!
Just wanted to say this is the best and exact advice I needed to perfect the “at home nail job.” In the past I would just glue them over a smooth nail, and they would fall right off. I just thought the “at home nails,” were a waste of money. Only the salon could offer a realistic look that lasted. After this wonderful video, I tried it again, and they are lasting and awesome 😎. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!!! You did a stellar job!!!
This video is so amazing. I didn’t know you could file off the tabs! I leave them on. I thought that if you filed them or cut them it would be clear underneath and mess up the color. This is so amazing! And mine don’t last very long! I just glue them on and go. I will have to try these all out. Thank you so much! This is incredible
Thank you thank you thank you. Years ago I used to do my own nails. Now I'm back to doing them again. Your demo is great. You explain how to and why. I also appreciate you telling me what are the best supplies. Great job. You have a fan for life and a new subscriber. Have a beautiful nail day. Obtw I love square nails.
Thank you!!! I prefer square ... imma be honest I kinda have man hands 🤣 I think oval looks great on women with more dainty hands and square is good for those of us with 'stronger' hands
My nail tech says I’m a “squoval” girl.. I like square with slightly rounded corners. I don’t care for the harsh square shape. I appreciate your tips n tricks. Will utilize them for my next set of nail falsies. I think we’ve all had to go that route. Wally World, Target & CVS were really picked over for nail choices in my area. I had to order from Amazon.
I just did my nails for the first time ever and they look so beautiful thanks to you and your instructions. I can't tell you how much better I feel about the way my hands look. I did not want to go back to the nail salon I was spending so much money there and I was there every two and a half weeks if not every two weeks what a godsend you are I hope all is well with you and thank you thank you thank you for this because I will never be without my nails again.
I find it lasts more when I do exactly what you did and then take my filer and file the actual nail not too much just take some of the shiny coat off and give it even extra grip! Works like magic!!
Square all the way! The little wooden tool used to be called an orange stick. Thanks for the revised tips. I picked up two new tips that I'll try when I change the set I just put on a few days ago!
I do this too! I’m a color street stylist as well so I put Color Street right over the press on and look like I’ve came from the salon with custom designs and patterns. It’s so therapeutic doing my own nails and definitely saves a lot of money. Yours always look amazing! ♥️
Hi Brittany! I'm a new subscriber! I came across your video for "press on nails" you explain things so well and you're so genuine! I love how you do things to save money on! I have been doing thee acrylic nails for probably 8 years now. With quarantine i needed to remove. My nails are so damaged! Decided to press on ones! You're such a doll! THANK YOU Brittany 🥰 💋
the first video i've ever watched of brittany's was her first press on nail tutorial yearsssss ago! i'm going to have to try this out for old times sake!
Thank you so much for being so in-depth with doing these nails. This is by far one of the best nail video. Especially since you explain why. Thanks again.
Square-oval nails (just taking off a bit of those harsh square edges) are so much more flattering when you have long, thin fingers like yours! They looked just perfect when you first did them. Oval shape is great for elongating shorter fingers. But of course, it’s whatever YOU like best 💅🏼!
Your last video a few years ago is why I tried them in the first place. THANK YOU for the update today. Pregnancy totally agrees with you - your skin is positively dreamy. After such a terrible time, I’m so happy for you now. Many blessings to you and yours. ❣️♥️❣️
I followed the last tutorial and it’s amazing. It lasted over three weeks ! So good I had a hard time taking them off . Lol . thanks for the new tips ! ❤️❤️
Girl, thanks for the update! When I want color, I normally use ColorStreet, but I prefer clear and nude, like you use. I am so glad to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't have time or money for a nail salon. Love ' 💓 ya Girl! Keep your awesome videos coming! 😉🤗😍🥰🤩
Your last video has gotten my nails through quarantine thus far!!! I can’t wait to use your new tips! My nails last 2 weeks when I follow the Brittany guidelines 🙌🏼 when I don’t, they’re 2-3 days max and popping off all over the place. Thank you for changing my nail game. ❤️
I tried these and loooove them! I never thought I would like press on nails or that they would even stick with everything I do daily. These lasted 10 days but It was my first time and now o know better for next and I think they will last longer !
Your nails look beautiful! I've never tried press on nails but it's great to see how to do them. My sister uses them a lot and they look beautiful on her. I used to have long, natural gorgeous nails but they were ruined by CND Shellac (I used it when it when it first came out for four months and they weakened my nails by 75%; they were never the same again.) My nails aren't as strong now and I've just started doing manicures again myself. I love an oval shape and always have. Would love a false eyelashe tutorial!
The finished product is gorgeous totally professional looking!!! The square really suit your hands. In fact both look great on your hands. I will be doing this this week. Looking forward to my salon style nails.... thanks!!!
Yes girl!!! I’ve been wearing KISS nails for almost 4 years now!!! I actually prefer them to going to a nail salon! Love the diversity of styles and designs, the ease of use and minimal damage to my nails!!!
I just ordered these 2 days ago from Amazon. Perfect timing having you show me the best method of applying them! My nails are so bad right now! Thanks Brittany! Can’t wait for the eyelash extension video! I am allergic to that glue so if you know if there is a super sensitive glue for extensions please tell! 😘
I’ve used these for years. They wrk like a dream. I wear them for 1.5 weeks and the. Take them off and redo it again and sometimes paint them. It’s way cheaper and they’re always even in shape.
Mine would have lasted longer but i was done with them and wanted a new look ! I love using the 100 % acetone to clean my nail bed also helps with the longevity
Brittany, thank you so much for your video! My nails are lasting waaayyy longer! I have really jabbed them a few times, and they won't budge, been almost 2 weeks! I roughed them up with 60 grit sandpaper, and used Gorilla Glue brand super glue. I swear it's better than nail glue, and cheaper. I also bathe, swim etc, and they are locked on!
YES! Got to do this. Can't stand it any longer. But wondered, my hands are in water a lot, do they come off easy from this? I like the square. Thank you!
I love using fake nails because i have very thin/bendy/flat nails when they grow out and I want pretty shapely nails so i can still have some style to my look, even if you are in yoga pants and a hoodie, if your nails look good your whole outfit will!! I used to really like square nails but here lately i like having them sort of rounded, but still a little square
I've used these nails in various shapes and lengths for years. Never had a problem and I follow the same routine Brittany has shown. They work ladies and I don't baby them either.
Thanks for sharing! I prefer short square or squoval nail shape. I think they look elegant and more professional in general. Are you still planning on remodeling your master bathroom? If so, can you do a video on the transformation, cost breakdown, & selection of materials/ colors? Thanks 🙂
Love this so much!! I actually brought the Kiss brand of faux nails in a purple-greyish color and LOVE them! My kit came with these sticky gel stickers that you're supposed to stick on before you put on the nail...
I've been wearing press-on nails for probably 20 years. Our techniques are the same, with two slight differences...First, I use the cutical stick to gently lift the cutical and can slide the nail under it right along the edge, instead of butting the nail up to it. Second, I use the Gorilla Glue brand superglue instead of the nail glue provided with the kit. This glue keeps all the nails on (and I'm hard on my nails) until I'm ready to take them off, every time without fail. I also like that it comes in a gel formula, so it stays where I put it. Sorry if I've made any nail techs cringe. This just works for me.

Thanks Karyn! How do you handle glue seeping out the sides into the cuticle area?
thank you soooo much!!!!!!
THANK YOU!
Thank you. Why don’t you do a video?
Thank you!!! We’re bowing for you to get your own channel though, it’s super interesting !!!
So I tried this and THIS IS THE BEST NAIL TUTORIAL EVER. I work a laborious job where I'm doing heavy lifting 8 hours a day, so I didn't think this would work for me. My nails lasted 2 full weeks!
I've always prefered square nails! Love how you update us when you find an improved technique. 🙂
I had them square for a few days and then I switched them up - for some reason I think the almond shape looks better on my hands
Square nails reminds me of chewing gum
Brittany Vasseur almond shape looks more sophisticated
solarlola 9 no
I always thought if the Oval nails looking more old lady like. I like the square
I am 74 yrs old and have used the Kiss French Manicure nails for several years. I like the oval shaped nails and they usually last 2 weeks. Joint Commission doesn’t permit artificial nails. Does your hospital not abide by their policy?
I can totally relate! My hands and nail are very basic... anything else gets destroyed by constant application of hand sanitiser.
I love squoval nails. I think your hands are beautiful in the square!
Perfect timing for this tutorial. Mine will be delivered tomorrow. I like square nails, I think I’m one of the very few people who do like them. I have been filing my natural nails a little more rounded, just to see how I like it on me.
Me too. I always thought Oval look like old lady nails
Do what you think looks best! You know what looks best on you! I prefer oval but it compliments my finger shape. My best friend uses the squared off shape but it looks better on her nails with her finger shape.
I do squoval, which are square with the ends just a tad rounded off instead of sharp.
I just want to thank you for letting us all know this secret. My daughter and I started using this method about 2 weeks into the quarantine. She is a nurse and in and out of water all the time she is working. Never had one pop off they are great. Thank you again.
God bless her 💞
I commented this to another fellow nurse; Joint Commission doesn’t permit artificial nails. Does her hospital not abide by their policy?

Gurl Since I found your last tutorial I never went back to salon and u have an upgraded method even better! Thank u this method never fails🙏
Omg Brittany thank you SO MUCH. I used to get my nails done acrylics every 2 weeks and finally got a fungal infection (yes I know- judge away). I’m healed but I miss getting my nails done sooooo much!!! So excited to try this.

I like to do my press on nails at night before bed that way they can dry fully while I’m asleep. Great video!
I followed your instructions from your 1st video and they stayed on for 3 weeks! So easy. I do this all the time now!
I saw you explaining it quickly few years ago in one of your videos and I did it since than!
like 2 years now! The best! Thank you for the update ❤️
What’s the ‘BV’ method?
Yes you are the “Press-on Queen”!! 👸🏼
Yasssss! I kept seeing people I follow on IG having issues with their press on nails coming off so I wanted to do an updated tutorial.
These ARE the Best!!
Yey for the eyelash tutorial to come 😊
Just wanted to say this is the best and exact advice I needed to perfect the “at home nail job.” In the past I would just glue them over a smooth nail, and they would fall right off.
I just thought the “at home nails,” were a waste of money.
Only the salon could offer a realistic look that lasted. After this wonderful video, I tried it again, and they are lasting and awesome 😎. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!!! You did a stellar job!!!

I also appreciate you telling me what are the best supplies. Great job. You have a fan for life and a new subscriber. Have a beautiful nail day. Obtw I love square nails.
I tried these tips from your last nail video and they lasted FOREVER!!! I couldn't believe it! Thanks girl!!
Thank you!!! I prefer square ... imma be honest I kinda have man hands 🤣 I think oval looks great on women with more dainty hands and square is good for those of us with 'stronger' hands
You are the CEO of explaining things! This os probably why Carter knows so much. Love you, Brittany!
I love square nails. I would like to recommend gelish ph bond to dehydrate the nails if you have oil nail beds.
I've been using these for many, many years. Love them!! You can buy them already polished also..the glue that comes with it..is superb!
I buy mine at Dollar General. Same exact kits (Kiss) at half the price! I usually pay anywhere from $3-5 per kit.
I prefer the square. Thank you for the video. So cool
I find it lasts more when I do exactly what you did and then take my filer and file the actual nail not too much just take some of the shiny coat off and give it even extra grip! Works like magic!!
This will be my first time ordering and trying out the 💅. The tutorial came at a perfect time. Thank you and bless you and your family.

I have been using these since the shelter in place and absolutely love them! I prefer the square shape.
Love!! We have this product in south africa so excited to buy it tomorrow
The almond shape is pretty!!!
Love square nails! They make your fingers look slimmer.
Brittany, have you heard of adding acrylic monomer and powder for longevity? I read last night that it's a game changer, excited to try!
The finished product is gorgeous totally professional looking!!! The square really suit your hands. In fact both look great on your hands. I will be doing this this week. Looking forward to my salon style nails.... thanks!!!
Best method , thank-u , they don't come off no matter what !!
Yes girl!!! I’ve been wearing KISS nails for almost 4 years now!!! I actually prefer them to going to a nail salon! Love the diversity of styles and designs, the ease of use and minimal damage to my nails!!!
I love the almond shape, I have always gone for the almond shape for my nails.
Amazing video Brittney! Thank you for sharing. Can’t wait for your eyelash video 😊💕💕
Patiently waiting for your new diy lashes video!!!
I’ve finally tried these. Love!!
Thank you for sharing! I have always been afraid to try those nails. You make it look easy!
I'm excited for that updated eyelash video!!!
I’ve used these for years. They wrk like a dream. I wear them for 1.5 weeks and the. Take them off and redo it again and sometimes paint them. It’s way cheaper and they’re always even in shape.
So gorgeous, natural, cost effective and easy. I prefer shorter and a rounded square shape. Thank you, xo
It’s literally 4am in Australia and I’ve just been sitting on RUclips waiting to get this notification!! 😍🥴😂
yesss thank you!! and good morning to you!
I know right! 😁
I have been using press on nails for 30 years! No problems!
Mine would have lasted longer but i was done with them and wanted a new look ! I love using the 100 % acetone to clean my nail bed also
helps with the longevity
I have been waiting for a good new video from you 💕 excited !
Your advice is so stop on. I watched the other one you did and they did stay on almost 3 weeks🤗 Thanks so much😍
Brittany, thank you so much for your video!
Bruh. Don’t use SUPER GLUE ON YOUR NAILS! Especially not GORILLA GLUE! The heck!
I’ve recently gotten into dip nails at home and so far I love them! They feel like acrylic but is your natural nail.
Your nail techniques are the best!! I've been using yours for years🥰🥰
YES! Got to do this. Can't stand it any longer. But wondered, my hands are in water a lot, do they come off easy from this? I like the square. Thank you!
Trying this today! You are the best! Thank you for your time and everything you do!
Thank you for this! Can’t wait to see your Lash glue tutorial 😍 Love from Switzerland 🇨🇭
coming soon! I've been testing pretty much everything that is out there to find the best
Brittany Vasseur looking forward to it! 🥰
Looking forward to eye lash extension video. Thinking about trying it with your tips
Looks so good 😍❤️ I prefer the oval shape 🥰
Looks professionally done
I've used these nails in various shapes and lengths for years. Never had a problem and I follow the same routine Brittany has shown. They work ladies and I don't baby them either.
I love how much time & effort you put into researching things. 😁
I use press on nails for awhile! Luv your tips for making them last!👍🏽
I love your channel all your different videos are so great!
Excellent tips. Have been doing mine the same for many years.
They look so professional!! Thanks for this!!
