I don't like people saying if you have "Core" you're ok. The older "Core" 2 Duo and Quad don't have SSE4.2 and won't work. Intel added SSE4.2 with Nehalem which was the first lineup of i3/i5/i7 CPUs. People should say "if you have i3,i5,i7 you're ok". That said, if I had such older hardware why not run linux, works with the latest kernels. Just installed Linux Mint XFCE on a 2009 imac (Core 2 Duo CPU)for a friend. Not a speed demon but secure and can still play youtube at 720p smoothly and do everything else he needs.
Same here: Installed Linux Mint 21.3 XFCE on a DELL Latitude D820 with said Core 2 Duo processor from 2007 and it works flawlessly on just 4 GB of RAM!
I absolutely hate it, when IT giants try to disown me from my stuff just for the sake of their bonuses or dividends. In this regard I am an army of one. Have now installed Linux Mint 21.3 with the all in Cinnamon desktop on one of my older DELL Optiplex 980 workstations from 2011 equipped with an i7 processor of the first generation and 16 GB of RAM - works like charm as well... Yes, it obviously runs this SSE 4.2 command but well M$ there I go...
Why are people panicing about windows 10 end of support and windows 11 24h2? just use Windows 10 21H2 LTSC IoT, its supported until 2032, while windows 11 will end support in 2025

Has anyone installed Win 11 on a 6th or 7th gen Intel CPU? 🤨 Because Microsoft says only 8th gen and above.
If you run it with secure boot and tpm 2.0 then you can, but only if you install it from the usb ( a bootable win 11 usb) because it dosent check for the cpu requirements. Just for further proof i installed windows 11 on my daily driver laptop which has a 6th gen cpu and it installed with no problems.

@@zdspider6778 Nope, 6th Gen CPUS are from 2016, and my laptop has TPM 2.0, the PC Health check app (i think it was called like that) showed that it supports tpm 2.0
@@crazyyt2099 The official Intel webpage for i7 6700k says the launch was Q3'15, meaning Q3 of 2015.
Wikipedia says August 2015.
They milked Skylake for at least 4 more years after that. Skylake+++. So maybe there could be motherboards out there supporting TPM. Mine doesn't. Bought in 2016.

I also saw else where that intel 8th generation and older include in this.. so i disabled my windows update in windows services. you can also make a tutorial of disabling windows update

My Intel 5930k and 7700k have the SSE4.2 but it is too old. 8000 series or older will work with Windows 11.
My Laptop is amd from 2021 and my pc is amd from 2019 they both support windows 11 will it run 24h2

get a B550 and a new cpu as well, huge performance lift on AM4 to be had, get a 5700G for 170$ at least, then sell ur old chip for like 80-100$ and then BOOM tripple the performance bro it is work it, dont baughter with this old shiz ;)

oh x370 + 2700x is actually pretty much perfect but anyhow, ive got an i9 10940X wich is on the X299 Platform, did signed in for insider but i aint got it either, might not be pushed imidiately but hey ive got a 2600X system as well /my last AMD System with an Asus rog Strix B450-F wich was my main pc with a 5700G in it for a while till the i7 7820X came ;) both intelz aint gave me it, but ill try on the B450 tomorrow, maybe make a vid bout it btw i did a video bout this 24H2 situation as well, newest vid on my channel, if u interested @@pvp1589 😘 btw ive had a non 2600 non X, 3800X, 5700G, wich u should popp in but before update your bios and it MIGHT work, jump from 2700X to 5700X is quiet dope, but get the 5900X is actualy the more WOW upgrade anyways ;) ive used a 5800X as well and a 5950X as to test it, but i feel better with HEDT systems :D☺😏😇

It looks like the only Intels going obsolete is the Core 2 series. My core i7 x940 and 640M have SSE 4.2.
This can never be bypassed with the likes of Rufus or others because it is an instruction.

The normal Windows Update feature says my computer is not optimized for Windows 11 at all. So I have been running Windows 10 only. However when I run this tool you gave us, I do see SSE4.2 in the Instructions box. Weird.
Means your Processor is qualified for 24H2 if properly worked

never seen even the Athlon 200GE has SSE4A and the fifth gen Core I3 has SSE4.2

I was reading somewhere maybe running a linux hypervisor that can emulate the missing popcnt function of the bare hardware so you can run Win11 on top. Still sounds messy but there will always be some performance loss.
I have also SSE4.2 in my i5-Core-CPU. Can we wait till the ordinary automatic 24H2 update or do we have to install it with the media creation tool?
